Chapter 134 134
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
The alpha conference ended three days earlier than the expected one week date which I was thankful for. Though the conference had been useful and educational, at least I got you know the other packs and their alphas now, I still wanted to go back home. Finally, I could head back to my pack, and see Aurora, of course and also see mom. Lately, I've been have feelings of unease that something is wrong. I really wished could speak to Aurora at least, but we were not allowed to vring phones and any contact with anyone from the pack through the mind link is literally impossible because of how far we are. So, I guess I won't be able to breathe easy until I see everyone, especially Aurora.
"Hey, ready to go?" I asked Kieran, he and Griffin were standing in front of the car, resting against it.
"Yes, ready when you are." He answered in a bored tone but I could tell he wanted to leave as much as I did.
"You seem to be in a rush, what's wrong?" As usual, Griffin knows me best.
"I feel uneasy. I don't know what but I feel something is not right. I just hope everything is alright back at the pack."
Kieran frowned and moved away from his resting point.
"Then let's get back quick, I don't joke with gut feelings.
"I agree." Griffin nodded.
As we turned to get into the car, we heard some footsteps behind us.
"Alpha Lucian, leaving early?"
I turned and sighed, almost rolling my eyes when I saw the duo, Alpha Victor and Alpha Ryder. They each had annoying smiles on their faces.
"Yes, as you can see, I have to go back to my mate and my mother. Good day."
"You don't need to be in such a hurry, why don't you come with either if us to our packs." alpha Ryder offered, stepping closer. "This could be a sigh of our friendship since you refused the other one we offered." He was referring to the women they had brought with them that time.
I shook my head with a stiff smile.
"Thanks for the invite but maybe later, my pack is more important right now." I says it in a firm tone that allowed for no arguments but it seemed they weren't ready to step down.
Alpha Victor came closet, the smile on his face gone.
"What could be as important as formula strong pack alliance?"
I didn't bother answering, I just got into the car and shut the door. Alpha Victor had a glare on his Facebook Kieran and Griffin intervened.
Kieran leaned his head forward, "Do you really need an answer your obviously stupid question?"
Griffin glared at Victor. "Respect his decision."
"Let's go." I nodded at Kieran once the doors were shut.
He drove on accelerated speed, speeding past trees and bushes on the way so fast that they seemed like a blur as well moved. Throughout the drive, I couldn't help bite my finger nails due to the feeling of anxiety that kept on growing in my chest.
"Faster." I growled.
Without looking away from the road, Kieran growled back.
"This is the fastest the car can go."
I nodded and took a deep breath to calm myself. It took about another hour when we reached the pack. We stopped in front of the pack house, I jus med out quickly and ran inside.
"Aurora! Mom! I'm back!" I called but then that's when I noticed something strange. The place was too quiet, too sombrer. Where was everybody?
"Where is everyone?" Griffin wondered aloud, his eyes darting over the house.
"Kale! Kale!" Even Kieran seemed worried as he called his name.
Just as I was thinking of making my way up stairs, I heard the song of footsteps approaching. Mom, Talia and Kale was using and made they're way down with dark looks and shadows on their faces. My heart went cold with sorry and alarm ad I noticed that Aurora was not with them.
"Mom!"
"Lucian." She didn't smile, she tried to big the lines around her face didn't hide she was feeling and I knew it wasn't good.
"Mom, where is Aurora?"
She walked towards me, taking my hand in hers, shaking her head slowly.
"Talia, what happened? Where is Aurora?" Griffin asked as he pulled a tired faced Talia towards me, she buried her face in his shoulders and a sob sounded from her. His eyes went wide in alarm as he looked at me, I was already fully panicked but I didn't what whatever I'm thinking to be true. I half mom by her shoulders looking her deep in the eyes.
"Mom, please, where is Aurora?"
She sighed, "Aurora, Aurora has been
.." She stopped and looked like she didn't want to say what she was about to say. I became impatient, almost stomping my feet.
"Mom, what is it, tell me?"
"Kale, please what happened?" Kieran asked.
Kale stepped forward, his head down.
"Alpha Lucian, if you want to kill me kkw, I assure you I will not be angry. Its my fault..." He gulped then continued.
"Alpha… I’m sorry. She slipped out. Auron’s men took her."
Rage and anger mixed with terror burned inside me, my legs trembled but I held on.
"How?! You were guarding her! You were supposed to be guarding her.!"
He nodded hurriedly, licking his lips.
"I… dozed off for a bit, at night. She escaped while I was sleeping, I think she went out for a run...we didn't see her again. The only thing we found after searching everywhere was this..." He brought out a piece of paper from his pocket and held it out for me. With trembling hands, I took the paper from him.
Wait until we return her. Do not do anything stupid or rash or her blood will be on your hands. -Auron
I crumpled it after reading, letting the paper ball in my hands as my wolf growled in it's cage.
"How dare he tell me what to do? I have to get her back."
