Chapter 132 132
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO
AURORA'S P.O.V
I flexed my fingers, sighing in relief as my blood began to move in my veins again. I knew the metal's effect on my neck had worn off but I pretended not to know so that Auron doesn't know what I'm thinking. Good thing it worked. My legs were still a bit numb so I just focused on snapping the band on my hand. I paused immediately, whispers seeped through cracks.
“Auron’s orders… keep her alive.”
I saw glimpses of shadows moving outside. Were they guarding me? It would mean they won't leave the door, please go away. Sweat beaded on my forehead as I watched intently. Thankfully, the shadows disperesed, the sound of their footsteps fading away gave me reassurance. I focused inward and tried to call.
'Lucian? Can you hear me?'
Silence.
Too far? I tried again, desperation creeping in, but still silence. I was just too far away from him. Anyway, let's just get out of here first. My legs now were fully functioning, so I stood up and headed to the door, opening it with utmost care so as not to make a sound. Even the doorknob was dusty, what was this place? Must be an abandoned cell because there was only one door and no windows. I stepped onto the dim corridor, almost jumping out of my skin when I saw the large expanse of cobwebs climbing to the walls. I took a deep breath and looked ahead of me. I had no idea where you go or where I was, I decided I was going to follow my instincts. I started off slow, then I burst into a sprint, running for who knows how long until I stopped at a wall enclosed space. Or was it a dead end?
I cursed as I ran my hand over the rough flat wall surface, it felt cold to the touch, definitely more entrance.
"Crap! I was hoping there would be an entrance here."
I turned back and almost shit myself.
"Heavens! Oh my gosh! You almost scared me." I yelled, clearly annoyed and scared at the same time. "Why are you here? How did you find me?"
Auron, his arms crossed on his chest, took a few steps towards me, his now lighter shade of red staring at me, there was strangers more surprise in them.
"You knew I was going to escape."
It wasn't a question. He nodded, stopping just short away from me. I rolled my eyes and fished my hands in my hair. I was getting pretty annoyed with all these. I guess it was funny for him to watch me as I ran all the way here, only to end up in his palms again.
"Can we just stop this stupid and clearly annoying game?" I pointed a finger at him, my nose flaring in anger. Who are you? What do you want from me? What do you want?"
He made a slow, deliberate step towards me, his arms still crossed.
"What do I want?" His voice was a deep growl laced with anger and frustration. "What do I want." He repeated. "Let me tell you want I want. I want what you have."
I tilted my head, blinking in confusion.
"You want my mate?"
He stopped short, shaking his head quickly.
"What? No. I want your life. Everything in it. You have it all good, you have the love, the family, the partner. The power. I want it all."
I shook my head slowly, trying to wrap his words around my head.
"I...I really have no idea what you are talking about. I don't know you, I never met you, if I had, I would have remembered." Then I glared at him through narrowed eyes. "You wouldn't happen to be another song of Desmond, would you? That's if you know about him."
"I'm not his son. And yes I do know about him and the battle you had with him."
My eyebrows went up. If he knows Desmond, it means he would have known when Lucian and I had left the pack.
"So which means you know everything that happened that led to the battle, right?"
He shrugged indifferently.
"I don't care and I don't want to know. The battle is enough information for me. You went to war with an alpha just to take his pack and his family."
"Excuse me?"
He continued, his voice reverberating through the walls of the corridor.
"Seeing you do that made me realize that I no longer need to stay in the shadows, watching you bask in your glory while I stay hidden under your shade. I won't allow it, I think I have suffered enough injustice as it is."
I stood still, shocked and at the same time amused. He got everything wrong.
"I'm sorry if I got this wrong but did you say that I went to war with an alpha just so I could have his pack?"
"And his family." He added.
I nodded, looking away while biting my lips to stop me from saying something bad.
"Calm down Aurora." I took a deep breath. "Whew! Okay, so, I'm not...I don't have time for this, line this is too sudden. But what I can tell you is that everything you know, everything you think you know is wrong. You got it all wrong."
"And what makes you think I will believe you?"
I thumped my chest.
"Because its me! It concerns me, its my story. You can't just go about believing anything you want believe. Why don't you hear from the horse's mouth first."
"And what if I don't want to hear from the horse's mouth?" He shot back.
An angry groan slipped out from my mouth, coming from the deepest part of my stomach.
"I'm not...I'm not going to answer that. You said you want everything thars mube. Now let me ask you, what gives you the idea that it is justifiable for you to want my life and have it?"
He didn't answer.
"You're not going to answer?"
"Its...complicated."
I frowned, exasperated.
"Complicated? Complicated! I'll show you complicated. This is complicated. You taking me away from my home and spitting all these nonsense in my face about justice and taking my life." As I spoke, my voice got bolder and I kept moving towards him. "You do not get to do all these things, then refuse to answer my questions and instead tell me it's complicated. Let me uncomplicate it for you. Who. Are. You?"
I gave him a daring glare, not backing down. I panted softly, my chest rising and falling in succession.
"Tell me!" I screamed, my patience very thin.
He moved a step back, then another. Then his hands went to the mask on his face, one hand went behind while the other stayed at the front.
"You want to know who I am?" He growled, "Fine, I'll show you who I am?"
"I'm waiting." I challenged.
A few clangs and clanks sounded and then he was pulling it off, slowly that I almost growled out of frustration. Then it was off, and I could see his face. I should be satisfied to see his face after all this time but instead, I was shocked. Floored even.
"What the..."
