Chapter 103 103

Chapter 103 103
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THREE

LUCIAN'S P.O.V

I was forcefully dragged back to his office, my mind raced with anything to occupy the rage in my heart as thoughts of revenge filled me. He sat behind his desk, a smug look on his cruel face showing off his fangs with a smirk.

"So, Lucian." He said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "What do you think of your new accommodation in the dungeon? You know it was your favorite place when you were just a bratty and annoying teenager."

I took hige gulps of air, my chest going up and down with the action. Calm down. Calm down, Lucian. No matter how much he taunts you, you have to keep your cool. I drew my head up lazily and shrugged, keeping my voice even.

"Same old, same old. It hasn't changed a bit. I was hoping you would do some interior decorating, the place just looks so boring. A bit of color will do, don't you think?"

His eyes narrowed and he leaned closer.
"Mouthy, aren't you? Well..." He stood up, tucking his hands in his pockets. "If you need color, I know the perfect shade for you. How about...red...red blood freshly beaten out from the bodies of those useless peasants. How about it? Exciting now, eh?"

He guffawed, throwing his head back and clutching his stomach as if he found the whole thing funny.

I ended up snarling, my eyes firmly locked in him.

"Mark my words, Desmond. You will pay for this. Everything you have done. I will make sure if it, even if its the last thing I do."

He chuckled, his shoulders shaking from the action while his eyes shone in amusement.

"Oh, I think you'll be the one doing the payimg, Lucian. You'll do exactly what i say, or your mother and your best friend's mate will suffer tge consequeces."

"Don't you dare touch them."
I roared, struggling to contain my anger but I could fel myself at its limit.

"You know, don't you think you should be calling me father? All this "Desmond this", "Desmond that". It's driving me crazy. Come on, call me father around least. You killed my son anyway, its the least you could do to pay me the life of my dear son." His eyes flashed, anger seething beneath it.

I smirked, knowing that he was feeling pain that he deserved.

"Your son deserved whatever he got. You were never my father. So over my fucking dead body...Desmond."

He growled and let out a sigh.
"Be careful with what you wish for, you might actually get it. And then who will be there to save your pitiful mother?"

My chest rumbled with a growl as I asked him, my voice low and menacing.
"What do you want, Desmond?"

He smiled, a wide smile.
"Ah, Lucian. You're so predictable. I want you to do exactly what I say, and maybe, just maybe, I'll let your mother and Talia live."

I grounded my jaw while thinking carefully. This might be a trap, but if I wanted to lower his guard, I have to play along for the time being. I would do whatever it took to save my mother and Talia, and the others.

"What is it, Desmond? I'll do anything, as long as you don't hurt them."

His eyes glinted with triumph. "You're going to help me bring Aurora back here, and you're going to do it willingly."

I shook my head sharply.
"Sorry, can't do."

He looked back me, his eyes going up in brief surprise but he schooled it back.

"You won't or you can't?"

"Both." I shrugged.

"Why not? You do want to save your people don't you?"

"Of course, I fucking do and you know that." Then I sighed mournfully. "But I can't help you there because I have no idea where she is."

He glared at me, his attention fully fixed on me.
"What do you mean? My sources said you guys were together the last time they saw you."

Such an idiot. I scoffed internally.

I nodded at him.
"Well, yes we were, then something happened and we separated. Why do you think I was found like this, not even having the strength to defend myself."

"What happened?"

"We were suddenly attacked by an enemy pack. They wanted her but I refused, so we fought to the end and I got weak. And when I woke up, I could find her, so I just kept on walking and walking until I got here."

He turned around and suddenly slammed the desk, a crunching sound was heard and then the desk caved in on itself.

"Those bastards! What if they killed her? She can't be dead, I still need her. I need her powers."

I nodded slyly, putting a bit of anger in my voice.
"You better hope she's safe. I know you were the one who told all the packs about her and everything since, it's been one battle after the other with them. You caused this."

"Silence!" He roared. "Don't you ever blame me when I'm not at fault. If you two had just stayed here and let me get what I wanted, I would have taken over by now instead of doing this silly dance called chasing you." His eyes darted round frantically. "I have to find her, find her quickly and bring her here." He looked at me. "And you are still helping me."

"I'm sorry but...I can't betray my mate. Helping you would be betraying her so why should I do it?"

He paused for a few seconds then he burst out laughing. I waited until he had stopped before speaking.

"Why did you laugh?"

He went back to sit down, crossing his legs while smiling. I felt a chill as I watched his face.

"Do you think she really loves you?"

I blinked.
"Who? Aurora?"

"Yes."

I opened my mouth to answer but then I stopped. I couldn't answer the question. I have no idea how she feels about me. Did she love me or even like me. Wait, I know she at least likes me but she hasn't given any indication that she loves me. I finally answered weakly, my voice unsure.

"I...I don't know. She's my mate...so she...has to...I guess."

He shook his head slowly, lazily.
"That's where you have it wrong, boy. Why be confused when the answer is right in front of you."

I frowned.
"What do you mean?"

"She never loved you, Lucian. Her heart was always beating for that guy...what's his name? Oh yes. Kieran."
