Chapter 58 Duty and Devotion
Travis was surprised when a huge wall of ice suddenly blocked the door.
"What the fuck? Kaizer! What's wrong with you?!" Travis said irritably, almost getting hit.
"Don't cross the border, brothers. I'll follow in a bit." I saw his siblings all roll their eyes at him before disappearing.
"Kaizer!" I called out loudly as he started heading to the bathroom.
"What?" he answered with a laugh.
"You can't always be this rough. They're your siblings, what if they get hit by accident? Kaizer, act like an older brother,” I said gently to him.
"I don't want anyone else to see your body, Saera. Fake or not, your body is only for my eyes. It'll be a big problem if any other eyes try to touch my goddess's body.”
I fell silent at what Kaizer said. Damn. I just held my chest because of how fast my heart was beating.
"You know what their problem will be, Saera? How they'll be able to extend their lives. You're mine only, Saera. Mine alone..."
My prince is goddamn possessive. I just smiled at him, because I also believe that the second prince of Wisteria is only for me.
"I'll just take a bath. Can I still change your mind, Saera?" he asked with a smile.
"Go take a bath, my dear prince."
He just shrugged before going into the bathroom. I guess after he's done, I'll take a bath too? But I don't want to wash off his kisses from my body yet.
While Kaizer was bathing, I prepared his clothes. When I heard him opening the door, I immediately turned around.
"I'll go out first, Kaizer. Get dressed." I've seen him naked a few times before, but never the lower part. No way, not yet.
"Are you sure? You don't want to see? Vampire size is bigger than human size, Saera.”
What the fuck?
"I'll go out first, my dear prince.” He was laughing as I hurried out of his room. The ice wall Kaizer put up earlier was gone too, since no siblings were waiting outside anymore.
But it wasn't long before Kaizer stuck his head out slightly as he opened the door.
"I need your help, baby.” He was already dressed when he called me. When I went back inside, Kaizer was choosing the outer garment he'd wear.
"You like blue, right?" Kaizer just nodded at me. I reached for his clothes myself.
"Next time, don't call the servants when you're getting dressed, Kaizer. I'll do it for you, my dear prince.” I slowly buttoned up his shirt.
"But I like the other way, Saera. I prefer you taking my clothes off."
My face heated up again at what Kaizer was saying, while he just kept teasing me with a mischievous grin.
"Kaizer, listen to the council. I'll wait for you here."
He quickly took my right hand and kissed it.
"As you wish, beautiful goddess from the mirror."
I kept myself busy by soaking in Kaizer’s bathtub. I'm sure their meeting will take a while, but what could they be talking about? Is grandpa already in Wisteria?
While I was playing with the bubbles, I noticed an image from the water's reflection. I stood up nervously, but when I looked closer, I confirmed who it was, the queen of the sirens who helped me. I still had so many questions to ask her.
"Hello, Queen Esmeray? I wanted to ask you something–"
She didn't let me finish what I was saying.
"Find the woman who can manipulate time. She is the one you need most, Saera.” I frowned at what she said. Find her?
"What do you mean?" I asked her. But I noticed her image was starting to fade in the water.
"My dear queen..." my call came too late as she disappeared completely. What did she mean? Why do I need to find the woman who can manipulate time?
I got out and dried myself off. After I got dressed, I decided to walk around for a bit. I heard from the servants that the elder council had already left earlier, but why hadn't Kaizer come back yet? I still hadn't seen any of the other Lancasters either.
I was about to take another step when I heard Kaizer’s loud voice as if he was arguing.
"I won't agree!"
"Don't be selfish, Kaizer! Saera isn't just yours! Remember that she is one of the chosen women! Remember that you are a prince of this kingdom! You need to understand the vampires who will be affected by your selfish decisions! Open your mind, my dear brother. We need Saera’s cooperation,” Astrid explained at length.
I know about this matter and I'm willing to help as much as I can.
"She can't. Saera is still weak. This empire can't use my Saera’s blood.. no,” I heard Kaizer reply firmly.
"You don't want to share the power of her blood, Kaizer," I heard Elliot say.
"I do! I just don't want her blood used for others. She's mine. I don't care about this kingdom!" I just closed my eyes when I heard a loud rumbling from inside.
Maybe in other situations, they would have known I was outside listening to their sibling conversation, but probably because of the intense tension between them, they didn't sense my presence.
I started walking and pushed open the large door with both hands. My eyes immediately met the seven siblings sitting on their thrones. I couldn't help but remember the first day I stepped into this palace.
"Saera..." I saw Kaizer leaning against the slightly damaged wall, with a little blood on his lips. I smiled at him before kneeling in front of all the princes and princesses of Igor Wisteria, all of whom were stunned by what I did.
"Saera..." I ignored their calls for me.
"I am the one asking for forgiveness for the disrespectful words my prince spoke." I bowed slowly as a sign of respect to all of them.
"I promise in front of the most important nobles of this kingdom that I, as the first woman from the magical mirror, will serve and value this kingdom as much as I can. I promise to fulfill my duty as the chosen woman that Igor Wisteria is counting on. And I promise above all to love your brother until the very last drop of blood flows through my body..."
"Saera..." Kaizer called my name softly.
When I looked up a moment later, the Lancasters’ eyes were all red–filled with respect.
"Welcome back to Igor Wisteria, beautiful goddess from the mirror."
