After making love in Alexander's office, I began to dress. I was hungry.

"Shall we have lunch?" I suggested.

"Where do you want to go?" he leaned in to kiss me.

"Wherever you want," I replied. "By the way, I don't know what happened with Sara and Lex. I wanted to tell you, I don't think Alexander would be capable of firing Sara. She's a good worker, and I'm sure she can do better. Just because she lost those papers doesn't give him the right to dismiss her."

"What's going on with them?" he asked.

"I'm not sure if I should tell you, but they've had some issues. Lex even fired her, but Sara's boss didn't let her go."

Alexander furrowed his brow.

"Why did he fire her? I wasn't aware of this."

"According to Lex, she lost some very important documents, and that's why he fired her."

"I need to find out about this. I don't like where it's going," Alexander said, heading towards the exit.

"Alexander, I think it's already been cleared up. Sara wasn't at fault. Don't fire her. I'm telling you this because I know you're a fair man."

"I need to know, Mariela."

"You'll find out, but first, let's have lunch. That way, you can think things through. Please," I pleaded.

Alexander sighed.

"Fine, let's go."

After dressing, we left the office and headed to a nearby restaurant for lunch. During the journey, I couldn't help but feel a certain unease about what had happened with Sara and Lex. Although it wasn't my responsibility, I felt the need to intervene and protect Sara from any injustice.

While we waited to be served, I explained in detail to Alexander what had happened with Sara and Lex. I tried to convey my conviction that Sara was a good employee and deserved a chance to rectify the mistake she had made.

Alexander furrowed his brow and reflected on the situation. I could sense his concern and his desire to take action.

"I need to find out about this, Mariela. I don't like the idea of an unfair decision being made. If Sara is innocent, I can't allow her to be fired without cause. We must act justly and give her a chance to explain."

His words relieved me. I was glad to see that Alexander was an upright man willing to listen to all parties involved before making a hasty decision.

"Thank you, Alexander. I'm sure Sara will appreciate your support and understanding. It's important that we give her the opportunity to clarify the situation."

We continued our lunch, but our thoughts remained focused on Sara's situation. Both of us shared the same concern for justice and were willing to do whatever it took to ensure she was given a fair chance.

After finishing our meal, Alexander took out his phone and started making some calls. He seemed determined to find out more about what had happened and take the necessary steps to rectify any mistakes.

I had confidence that with Alexander's intervention, the best would be done, and a suitable solution would be found for everyone involved. Together, we pledged to ensure that Sara had a fair opportunity to defend herself and prove her worth.

"That was a delicious meal," I let him know. We both left the restaurant, but I stopped abruptly when I saw Natasha on the corner of a shop, right in front of us.

"What's wrong?" Alexander asked me.

A car passed by, and when I looked back, Natasha was no longer there.

"I thought I saw Natasha," I informed him. "I feel like that girl is close, very close."

"Relax. The police are looking for her everywhere. Don't be afraid."

I nodded, trying to calm myself.

"Okay."

We got into the car, and Alexander started the engine.

"Thank you for what you did for Sara," I said.

"Don't worry about it. I'm surprised you've grown fond of her so quickly."

"Sara seems like a good woman," I murmured. "And she was the first one to tell me about Alexander's past; otherwise, I wouldn't have known. When I think about that past, I have doubts, doubts that only Alexander can answer."

"What the hell..." Alexander exclaimed.

"What's happening?" I asked, with some fear. Alexander pressed the brakes, but the car wouldn't stop.

"I have no brakes," he said, trying desperately to halt the car. "I don't know how this happened."

Fear gripped me at that moment because I knew we were going to crash. And the image of Natasha came to my mind. It was her. It wasn't a hallucination; it was real.

"It was Natasha!" I murmured. "I know it was her!"

"Mariela, put on your seatbelt!" he demanded.

"I'm scared, Alexander!"

"Stay calm, nothing bad will happen to us."

I immediately put on my seatbelt and held onto anything I could. Alexander tried to navigate to an area where there were no people, to avoid hitting anyone. He drove into a clear park where there was only grass and shrubs. Fortunately, Alexander wasn't driving fast.

"I'll try to stop the car in one of those bushes, alright? Cover your face," he said, to which I nodded. Alexander steered towards some thick bushes. I closed my eyes, just waiting for the impact. When it came, I felt a loud crash until it stopped. I removed my hands from my face and opened my eyes.

Alexander was fine.

I was fine.

The car had stopped due to the bushes, and luckily, it wasn't a severe accident. The car was barely damaged.

"What happened?" I asked. "How did Natasha get close to your car and cut the brakes?" I wanted to know.

"It's my fault. I got complacent and didn't bring the bodyguards. It won't happen again, darling. Are you alright?" He held my face to inspect me.

"I'm fine, but very scared."

"Relax, it's over now. Stay there." He got out of the car and circled it, opened my door, unbuckled my seatbelt, and helped me out. "I'll call the police to report the incident."

"Alright."

I can't believe Natasha got away with it again, this time she went too far, she was close to killing us. That girl has no limits.
