Chapter 66 The Brain Needs Treatment

Chapter 66 The Brain Needs Treatment

Marcus's gaze clearly turned much colder. He narrowed his eyes and took a careful look at the people standing in front of him, quickly realizing they were Catherine's former adoptive parents.

How dare this family show up in front of Catherine?

Catherine said coolly, "If I remember correctly, you already published a notice in the newspaper cutting ties with me. We're strangers now. Please move aside. Otherwise, don't blame me for being rude."

Oliver felt somewhat embarrassed, but was reluctant to let Catherine go.

Lucas looked at Catherine with deep affection.

"Catherine, come back to me. I want to rekindle our relationship. I know you love me, and I haven't forgotten you for a single day. You're the most wonderful woman in my heart. I know you're just testing my feelings for you!"

Catherine was speechless.

Was he sick or something?

Clara's face looked terrible. She bit her lower lip hard, staring at Catherine with both humiliation and resentment.

That damn Catherine must have contacted Lucas in private! Catherine was already someone's mistress, so why was she still clinging to Lucas!

Catherine glanced at him. "There's a mental illness called delusional disorder that fits your symptoms perfectly. If you have time, go see a psychiatrist. Mental problems need treatment."

Lucas looked confused!

Delusional disorder? Mental illness?

What was all this about!

The medical staff standing nearby couldn't help but cover their mouths and laugh!

Seeing that Catherine was about to push Marcus away, Lucas panicked.

"Catherine, don't leave me!"

Catherine said calmly, "Andrew, please clear them out."

Andrew immediately saluted respectfully. "Yes!"

Several special forces soldiers stood like a solid wall in front of Oliver's group, leaving no gaps whatsoever.

"Please leave!"

Oliver still wanted to struggle, holding up the prepared gifts pleadingly. "Sir, we haven't given Mr. Windsor the gifts we prepared yet! Please do us a favor, or you could give them to that caregiver just now. I'm her father! Let her pass them to Mr. Windsor!"

Andrew was puzzled.

Who did you just call a caregiver? Catherine?

And claiming to be Catherine's father was pure delusion. Bethany and Aurora had just left the room together this morning—they'd all seen them!

Hearing that Catherine was just a caregiver, the passion in Lucas's eyes faded somewhat.

Andrew completely ignored them and waved for his men to drive Oliver's group away.

This was Molly's first time encountering such a situation. Her expression kept changing, and her look toward the Smith family was especially mocking.

"Some people pick up trash and treat it like treasure. Now they're desperately trying to get close, but nobody pays them any attention."

Oliver felt a bit embarrassed. "That's not a fair thing to say. Clara is our biological daughter."

"Didn't you hear Lucas just say he likes Catherine?"

Molly rolled her eyes, bumped past the grim-faced Clara, and pushed Lucas out of the hospital.

Celeste was furious!

"What does the Johnson family mean by this? What do they mean they like Catherine? Catherine is just a caregiver now!"

Oliver was also full of anger, and seeing Celeste made him even more furious.

"I told you not to rush, but you insisted on publishing that notice cutting ties with Catherine. Now look what happened! Catherine completely resents us! What if she bad-mouths us in front of Marcus? That would be terrible!"

"Then what do you suggest? She's already blocked me!"

Thinking about this, Celeste felt Catherine was completely heartless.

She wasn't considerate at all compared to Clara!

"Here's what we'll do—I'll call her later. Going back to our house is impossible, but at least she can say some good things about us in front of Marcus. Mr. Howard hasn't come yet today, so let's wait a bit longer."

Clara stood behind them, her face completely pale!

When she was little and participated in a painting competition, she tried to secretly replace her painting with Catherine's. Someone discovered it and threw her in a trash can. The Smith family's bodyguards searched for days before finding her!

This was her greatest humiliation!

The Johnson family bringing this up was completely rubbing salt in her wounds, showing no consideration for her feelings.

They must still be thinking about Catherine!

What if she found a way to expose Catherine's past? Clara's eyes darted around several times, full of resentment!

A low-key but luxurious Cayenne smoothly entered the hospital, speeding past the Smith family, leaving only a magnificent silhouette.

"That's Mr. Howard's car! Quick, quick, quick, let's follow it!"

The Smith family hurried after the car, afraid of missing Alexander getting out.

Through the rearview mirror, Annie saw the three people running behind.

Weren't these Catherine's former adoptive parents?

Had they found a new hobby—running marathons at the hospital?

"Mr. Howard, Catherine's adoptive parents are behind your car. Do you need me to handle it?"

Alexander's brow furrowed slightly.

Were these people bothering Catherine again?

"Don't worry about them. Go find out why they came looking for Catherine."

Annie pursed her lips disdainfully. "It's definitely nothing good. That family wasn't good to Catherine. They must be here to bother her."

Alexander's gaze turned cold, his usually refined and elegant face covered with frost.

They had bullied Catherine like this—how could he let them off easily!

"Teach them a lesson."

"Okay!"

Annie's eyes lit up with excitement. She rubbed her hands together, turned the car around, and headed toward the Smith family.

Seeing the car suddenly turn around, Oliver was so excited he almost jumped.

"Mr. Howard must have seen us and wants to talk business with us! The Smith family is finally saved! Clara, pay attention to your appearance in a moment. You can't embarrass yourself in front of Mr. Howard!"

Clara was also quite excited. Although she liked Lucas, if Alexander would just look at her once, maybe she could get an even better match.

Celeste looked at the Cayenne, somewhat uncertain. "Honey, are you sure he's looking to talk business with us? Something doesn't feel right."

"What could be wrong!"

Oliver was still dreaming when he saw the Cayenne showing no signs of slowing down—in fact, the driver even stepped on the gas!

The car sped forward rapidly, almost grazing past the Smith family. Even a corner of the roadside flower bed was knocked off!

The Cayenne quickly disappeared at the intersection, completely entering the hospital.

The Smith family was nearly scared out of their wits!

Oliver looked completely shaken, as if he could still feel the sharp wind from the passing car scraping across his face like a knife—painful and terrifying!

This wasn't a car—it was clearly the Grim Reaper's scythe!

Celeste was so frightened she sat down on the ground, completely dazed.

"This is attempted murder! They tried to murder us!! I'm calling the police!"

Oliver gritted his teeth. For once showing some intelligence, he said angrily, "Call the police? What happened to you? What evidence do you have? We can't even enter the hospital, but Mr. Howard can speed inside! Even if you call the police, do you think the Howard family will let you off?"

Celeste's eyes rolled back, and she fainted!

Oliver and Clara hurriedly and clumsily took her to the emergency room. Fortunately, they were already at the hospital, so getting treatment was convenient.

Catherine stood upstairs, somewhat speechless as she watched this scene.

She didn't care about the Smith family. Whatever they did now had nothing to do with her.

As for Alexander.

She glanced coolly at Alexander, who had just entered the room and was taking off his coat as he walked toward her. He looked at her with a half-smile, his gaze filled with infinite tenderness.

"Are you three years old? So childish."

"If I were three, I would have just hit them directly."

Alexander walked to Catherine's side, leaned down close to her, his smile carrying lingering tenderness, intoxicating as spring light.

"I'm not generous enough to let anyone who bullies you get away with it."

"Since you haven't learned to tell on people, I'll just discover your grievances myself."
