Chapter 394: Arabella Sees Through but Says Nothing

Chapter 394: Arabella Sees Through but Says Nothing

Arabella wanted Paloma to return to the Howard Villa.

Brad asked in confusion. "In what capacity? As Juniper's mother, or as Evander's wife?"

Arabella's emotions were complicated.

"As Juniper's mother would be fine, it's just... I also have some selfish motives."

She knew what Felix was most concerned about in his life.

Nothing more than Alexander's marriage, and the matter between Evander and Paloma.

She just hoped that Felix could leave without any regrets in his final days, and pass away peacefully.

Arabella sighed.

"It's difficult, so difficult. Going to find Paloma isn't impossible, but I don't know how to bring this up even if I find her."

Brad understood and responded.

"Arabella, you think it's embarrassing, so you'd rather I be the one who gets humiliated?"

"You don't mind, you're used to being shameless."

Arabella simply wanted Brad to approach Paloma, hoping she would be willing to stand by Evander's side during Catherine and Alexander's engagement.

That was all.

But even this one condition was hard for her to voice.

After all, the Howard family owed the Harrison family.

"Five hundred thousand dollars, no discount." Brad said.

Arabella rolled her eyes and picked up her phone to transfer the money.

The next moment, Brad stood up, clearly pleased with himself.

This was essentially meddling in other people's affairs, so it was only natural for him to charge a fee. Still Arabella couldn't stand his attitude.

"I'll go right away, but I won't judge what's right or wrong, or who's to blame. As for fate, it's best not to force it!"

Arabella fanned herself with her double-sided embroidered fan.

"Take Juniper with you."

Brad had just walked out of the courtyard when he suddenly paused. He heard Arabella's somewhat distant voice speaking unhurriedly.

"First, it's about her parents. Second, since you're even willing to give away your cross, it would be good for you to meet."

Arabella was clearly seeing things through without saying them outright.

Brad instinctively wanted to touch his cross, but grasped at nothing.

His expression was solemn, his face calm, showing no emotion whatsoever.

"I understand."

He had also said that fate shouldn't be forced.

Moon Medical Laboratory was brightly lit, with multiple control experiments running simultaneously in an orderly manner.

To develop new medication to keep Felix alive and help him attend the engagement party in better spirits, the entire laboratory staff hadn't slept properly for a week.

After all experiments were concluded, Catherine finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Gavin was helping in the laboratory, his eyes strained from staring too long.

If Catherine weren't short-handed right now, he wouldn't have had the chance to watch Moon Laboratory conduct its experiments.

This was Phantom Doctor Moon.

Seeing the entire laboratory process, Gavin finally understood that in the face of absolute talent, hard work was hardly worth mentioning.

He was completely convinced.

As a first-tier medical scholar in the country, Gavin had also considered himself a genius in his early years.

Now, watching Moon's experiments, he realized he was nothing special.

Looking at the experimental results, Gavin rubbed his face. "Although Franklin's experiments were terrible, I actually think they weren't completely without merit..."

Catherine said flatly. "No, without Franklin's experiments, they would still be geniuses, and they would be geniuses with happy families and joyful lives."

Talented people are geniuses anywhere.

Even without Franklin gathering them all up, their lives wouldn't have lost their brilliance.

Gavin got a bit excited. "Since I can get into your laboratory, does that prove my talent is pretty good too?"

After all, so many people submitted resumes to Galactic Aurora Collective, but didn't get in.

Catherine said calmly. "No, it's just because you've got hair."

Gavin was speechless.

Catherine bent down to look at the newest vial of medication. "This medicine will help Grandpa more comfortable ."

Time was tight, but fortunately, this wasn't Catherine's first time developing this kind of medicine.

However, all medicines have side effects, let alone this kind.

As she walked out of the laboratory, the sky was filled with stars, the North Star shining brightly above, its direction eternally constant.

Under the stars, a man in an exquisite suit leaned against a car, looking at Catherine with a smile full of indulgence.

Alexander's features were all excellent, with an edge that couldn't hide his noble pride. His neat shirt was impeccable, with the top button undone, revealing his sexy Adam's apple.

Alexander stubbed out his cigarette. The moment he saw Catherine, his smile softened. "Come here," he said.

"How did you know I'd be done now?"

"Tomorrow is the day to deliver medicine to Grandpa."

Alexander knew that Catherine would definitely finish developing all the needed medications before the delivery.

Seeing the dark circles under Catherine's eyes, Alexander's heart ached.

"You've worked hard."

"It's fine, but this medicine... will have some side effects. I've tried my best to minimize them, but Grandpa might forget many people in his last few days."

Forgetting everything was the side effect of this medicine.

Catherine placed her hand in Alexander's palm, her tone somewhat serious.

"My grandmother didn't remember things before taking the medicine, so the side effects could actually be ignored. For Grandpa's case, you get to decide."

Alexander nodded. "I understand."

Gavin cheerfully came over: "Mr. Howard, can you give me a ride?"

He had been working without rest alongside the Galactic Aurora Collective team for days. For the past few days, he'd slept only two or three hours a night, and now he didn't dare drive.

"Gavin, get in, I'll take you back."

"Okay, thank you Mr. Howard."

Twenty minutes later, Gavin was already asleep in the back seat, snoring softly.

Alexander's shoulder sank slightly as Catherine's steady breathing came from beside him. She had fallen asleep leaning on his shoulder.

Their hands were still clasped together. Looking down at Catherine's calm but tired face, Alexander reached out to smooth the lines on her forehead.

It was rare to see Catherine frown, it must be because she'd been worried about Grandpa all along.

Alexander said softly. "Annie, drive slower, don't wake them up."

"Yes sir."

At the Harrison Villa.

Owen looked at Brad and Juniper sitting across from him and pondered for a moment.

"I can't make this decision. You should ask Paloma. I only have one condition, ensure her physical health and that she's not upset. As for the engagement party, it's appropriate for Paloma to attend."

After all, Paloma had always liked Catherine very much.

Plus, knowing that Catherine had performed her surgery, Paloma was even more grateful.

Juniper nodded and got in the car with Brad, heading to the hospital.

"My mother is recovering well. If she's willing, going to the engagement party next week shouldn't be a problem."

As soon as she finished speaking, a violent scraping sound came from the rear of the car, and it lurched forward from the force of inertia!

The driver was shaken. "Juniper, someone just rear-ended us. I'll go check it out!"
