Chapter 248 Tired of Living, Actually Slandering Catherine!

Chapter 248 Tired of Living, Actually Slandering Catherine!

The more Charles thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt!

Although Alexander was Catherine's fiancé, coming out of Catherine's room this early in the morning—wasn't that moving too fast!

Catherine could tell right away that Charles had misunderstood.

"Charles, he was injured. He slept on the couch last night."

Hearing that Alexander had only slept on the couch, Charles's expression improved considerably.

Marcus and Felix were quite happy though.

Especially Felix—seeing that Alexander had finally gotten a clue and came out of Catherine's room, his face lit up with joy!

At this rate, he could start thinking about what to name his great-grandchildren!

But when he heard that Alexander had only slept on the couch, Felix's gaze filled with disappointment.

With such a beautiful fiancée right there, he just slept on the couch?

The Windsor family's staff had been replaced, and the breakfast on the table had changed to new styles too.

Marcus just wanted to enjoy his retirement years and didn't get involved in family matters.

Charles's tone was seeking her opinion.

"Catherine, you can handle things at home as you see fit. I'll have the butler take care of it, so you don't need to worry. Just focus on school!"

"Okay."

George picked up his phone and glanced at it. His eyelid twitched, and he suppressed a hint of displeasure before quickly returning to normal.

After Marcus and Felix finished breakfast and went to play chess, George handed his phone to Charles.

"Charles, someone posted information about Catherine online, trying to incite cyberbullying. I've already dealt with it and am tracking the IP address."

Charles raised an eyebrow.

Those people must be tired of living, daring to smear Catherine's name!

Someone had posted yesterday's video of Catherine playing the violin online, and it was getting some attention.

Several accounts had posted negative comments about Catherine below, making Charles's eyelid twitch!

Looking at Catherine still sitting across from him eating breakfast, Charles felt heartbroken.

Catherine had suffered so much growing up, yet these people were still making up stories about her!

"Catherine, don't be scared. How about we don't go to school today? We'll wait until I handle this situation?"

Catherine smiled gently and firmly shook her head.

"Charles, did you forget what I said? I'm also a member of the Windsor family. It's wonderful to have my brothers' protection, but I also want to stand alongside them."

Charles's eyes immediately welled up with tears!

She truly was worthy of being their Windsor family daughter!

George was also moved. "It's like when Richard wanted to debut—he said the same thing."

The Windsor family children all stand together, side by side!

Alexander, sitting beside Catherine, had a gleam in his eyes and a gentle curve to his lips.

His fiancée Catherine was so resilient and brave no matter what she faced, which also made his heart ache for her.

Since Catherine had said so, Charles didn't insist further.

He handed over his phone to let Catherine see the information.

After quickly scanning through it, Catherine's expression didn't change at all. Instead, she laughed softly.

"They just think—how can a girl play so well? How can a girl get into Imperial University? They're just jealous!"

The attacks on Catherine basically claimed her academic credentials were all obtained through the Windsor family's influence.

That Vincent's violin wasn't something she could play.

Some even spread rumors that her private life in the small mountain village hadn't been clean.

Catherine laughed dismissively.

As if they were also from that small village and had grown up with her!

"Charles, none of this matters. Today is my first day of school—I shouldn't skip it."

Charles nodded. "Should we find a way to clarify things?"

Catherine shook her head, her clear, sparkling eyes filled with extreme disdain and confidence.

"Self-proving is the stupidest thing. I won't fall into that trap! Just have Philip sue those people. He doesn't need to charge us lawyer fees, right?"

Why should she have to prove her abilities because of these people's baseless slander and speculation?

To Catherine, this was as stupid as proving she was herself!

Charles didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but he felt relieved.

"Don't be silly—if Philip dares charge you lawyer fees, I'll break his legs!"

Catherine said calmly, "Then please have Philip trace the IPs, sue every person spreading rumors, make it public, and claim damages."

"Okay!"

Seeing that Catherine was completely unaffected by this and had logically arranged the follow-up, Charles felt both comforted and sad.

Catherine had developed this unshakable, calm demeanor because life with Grandma Elodie in the small mountain village had been so hard!

Emilia quickly scrolled through her phone.

"Catherine, I just saw a commenter claiming to be Lucy's alternate account, saying you bullied Lucy at the Windsor family and deleted her account."

Combined with the earlier cyberbullying information—wasn't this too much of a coincidence?

How did Catherine encounter all of this at once?

Catherine simply switched to her internal network account and used a few simple program commands to find the commenter Emilia mentioned.

Charles and George didn't see the programs Catherine's fingers rapidly typed out, but Alexander beside her saw it clearly.

He had also studied darknet programs for a while and knew how difficult it was to construct a local area network.

Judging by Catherine's typing speed and the time it took to find that information, the local network Catherine had built must be quite extensive!

Alexander's heart stirred, suddenly wanting to know what relationship Catherine had with Q, the hacker making waves on the darknet!

Perhaps Q was also part of Galactic Aurora Collective?

Catherine looked at the information on her phone and blinked.

"It was posted by Esme, at Lucy's instruction."

The account information was investigated thoroughly in such a short time that even Charles and George were stunned!

"Catherine, do you know some high-level hacker?"

At this speed, even reporting to the police couldn't lock down someone's information this quickly, let alone know it in such detail!

Catherine's eyes looked very innocent. She spread her hands, shrugged, and lightly kicked Alexander beside her.

"Alexander lent me his people."

"They're my people. The Howard Group has a few decent hackers."

After all, it really was his people who had just processed that data and quickly found the culprit!

He somewhat enjoyed Catherine pulling him in as a shield so matter-of-factly—at least it proved she trusted him.

Catherine wanted to get angry, but since there were several people at the table, she had to hold back.

Hearing it was Alexander's people, Charles felt much more at ease. At least the Howard Group's people wouldn't deceive Catherine, and with Alexander overseeing things, there wouldn't be major problems.

Alexander gave a muffled grunt, calmly taking credit on the surface, but his hand grabbed Catherine's kicking leg and held her ankle to stop her from moving.
