Chapter 234 Catherine Takes Charge of the Windsor Family Affairs
Aurora stared at her phone, shaking all over with anger!
Marcus only had one child, Brandon. After separating from Lila, Aurora was in charge of everything.
There weren't many rules at home, and Aurora was very kind to the household staff.
She never expected that right under her nose, someone would turn out to be so ungrateful!
Lucy backed up several steps, her legs trembling, but her mouth wouldn't stop.
"Mrs. Windsor, Lila told me to take those things out. I didn't want to do it."
The videos Lucy filmed were indeed mostly shot at The Windsor Mansion, especially the building where Lila lived appeared most frequently.
Catherine smiled lightly. "The money in your account went straight to your son, not into Lila's pocket."
Lucy had been selling the Windsor family's belongings at low prices. Plus, after Lila and Marcus divorced, no one lived in Lila's place, and things went missing from there even more!
With the amounts adding up, the money in Lucy's account snowballed.
Catherine said calmly, "Lucy, your son and daughter-in-law bought a house in Imperia City last month. As far as I know, they don't even have jobs right now."
"To rely on your support to buy a house in full, when your husband and sons are all unemployed - Lucy, that must be tough."
Lucy had more than one son. Being able to help each child buy a house in full in downtown Imperia City was all thanks to Lucy's "hard work"!
But how that hard work came about, Lucy knew very well!
After working for the Windsor family all these years, the money came too easily. Lucy simply had all her sons stop working.
If she lost this job, how would her sons survive?
"Mrs. Windsor, please don't fire me. I had no choice. Every time I sold things, I had to give Lila a big cut! Lila forced me to do it!"
Aurora was furious, her eyebrows raised. "Save all that for the police!"
Lucy knew that Aurora would only listen to Catherine now. As long as Catherine was willing to speak up for her, Aurora wouldn't do anything even if she was angry.
She simply knelt down toward Catherine, begging for mercy over and over, muttering continuously.
"Ms. Windsor, I didn't mean to do it. Please, don't send me to jail. I'm getting old. I helped raise several children in your family!"
Catherine raised an eyebrow slightly.
Did Lucy think that by playing the seniority card and begging her, she would soften and let her go?
That trick was too basic.
Catherine shifted slightly, her eyes full of disdain.
"The only one you raised was Esme, and now she's a Hughes, not a Windsor."
"As for jail, that's the best place for you right now."
Lucy's social media account had already disappeared from the internet, and those accounts that reposted Lucy's videos were also contacted by the Windsor Group and asked to delete them.
Charles pressed his temples and said coldly, "The police are already waiting for you. The Windsor family will also recover the properties you bought with illegal income. Tell your sons to hurry up and claim a spot under the bridge!"
If they go too late, they might not even find a place.
Lucy collapsed to the floor!
"No! I've worked for the Windsor family for so many years. Please don't do this to me. Esme and Lila made me do all those things. I'm really innocent!"
Catherine raised an eyebrow. "Then let's have the police bring in Esme and Lila for investigation too. The Windsor family has been feeding these parasites for too long. It's time to clean them all out."
Catherine's gaze swept over the row of servants standing behind. "Lucy's hands aren't clean, so you all should be investigated too!"
The group of servants panicked when they heard they would also be investigated!
To be honest, they were only slightly better than Lucy, but not by much.
"Mrs. Windsor, you're still in charge of this house. Catherine just came back a few days ago and already wants to show her authority."
"That's right, Mrs. Windsor. We've worked here for so many years. Being investigated just like that would break our hearts."
"Catherine just came back from the countryside. She doesn't understand the Windsor family's ways at all."
Aurora rubbed her head wearily and said sternly, which was rare for her, "Whatever my daughter says goes! This house doesn't have to listen to me, but it must listen to Catherine!"
"This house belongs to Catherine. We're all just staying here. She can handle things however she wants!"
"As members of the Windsor family, you're so disrespectful to Catherine, and you talk about her like this right in front of me. If I weren't here, would you have gotten physical with her?"
Brandon chimed in, "Exactly! As long as Catherine wants, I'd be happy even if she stepped on my head!"
He regretted most that he didn't grow up with Catherine, didn't get to experience the warm scene of a normal father carrying his daughter on his shoulders to watch fireworks.
Juniper had been mature since childhood, always studying and reading whenever she had time, finding those activities too childish.
Brandon never got to experience what it was like to raise a sweet, soft baby daughter!
The police soon came and took away a group of servants. Even the driver Dylan went along to "watch," claiming that innocent people don't need to prove themselves, but they need to live up to Marcus's trust.
Aurora sat at the dining table and sighed.
"Something like this happening at home is my fault for not managing things well."
If Catherine hadn't discovered what Lucy was doing behind the scenes, she would have known nothing about it.
Aurora had been protected by Samuel and Grace growing up, and after marriage Brandon took care of everything. The biggest setback she'd encountered was Lila. She was essentially tolerant and easygoing by nature.
Marcus put down his newspaper and took off his reading glasses, his sharp eyes full of kindness and warmth.
"Alright, it's a small matter. It's resolved now. From now on, let the kids handle things at home."
Aurora was a wonderful daughter-in-law. Marcus felt that if Brandon hadn't shamelessly pursued her relentlessly, he wouldn't have deserved Aurora at all.
He and Elodie were both smart people - how did they end up with a son who had nothing going for him except his looks?
"Aurora has worked hard too. This isn't your fault! Just because you're kind doesn't mean you'll get kindness in return. Catherine handled this very well. From now on, let Catherine take care of things at Starry Residence. Aurora, you should rest."
Marcus had seen plenty of two-faced people over the years.
He had been observing while Catherine handled things. Catherine was tougher than Aurora, smarter than Brandon, and knew when to advance and retreat.
Catherine was simply perfect!
She truly was a child raised by Elodie!
