Chapter 220: Harassing Catherine? Lucas Was Scared Of Peeing.

Chapter 220: Harassing Catherine? Lucas Was Scared Of Peeing.

Clara thought it over and called Celeste.

"Mom, I don't want to go to jail, and I don't want to have this baby. The Johnson family is bankrupt now, so they definitely can't give me and the child a good life."

She couldn't let that loser Lucas drag her down!

She'd only gotten involved with the Johnson family for their money in the first place. Now that they were bankrupt, she wanted nothing to do with them.

Celeste was silent for a moment, then reassured Clara, "I'll help you, don't worry."

Clara continued, "Mom, if it comes down to it, can't you contact my real dad? Oliver is practically dead anyway. Are you really going to stick with him?"

Just thinking about this made Celeste angry.

That damn fool Oliver kept saying he had no money, but it turned out he'd transferred all their assets and given the money to his illegitimate son!

"I won't divorce him until I get back our shared marital assets. That money came from my hard work over half a lifetime. Why should I let Oliver transfer it all away!"

As for Clara's real father.

Celeste wasn't even sure herself. She'd had several boyfriends before marrying Oliver. If she had to figure out which one was actually Clara's biological father, she couldn't quite decide.

Since she wasn't sure which one it was, she'd just pick the most suitable one for now!

Celeste thought for a moment, meeting Clara's expectant gaze.

"Your dad should be the one in the jade business. I heard him mention he was mining warm jade. That stuff is worth a fortune. If we can find him, you won't have to worry about money anymore."

"I'll find you a good lawyer first. Once you're cleared, we'll get rid of this baby. The Johnson family is broke now, so we can't keep their child."

Clara agreed right away!

Once she found her biological father, her life would definitely get better. Then whether it was Lucas or Catherine, they'd have to bow their heads when they saw her.

"Mom, you have to get all of Oliver's money back, or how will we survive? I just heard Lucas's mom say Catherine is loaded now. We're in such a bad situation, Catherine wouldn't just ignore us, would she?"

Just saying this made Clara jealous!

Why did Catherine have such good luck, managing to hook up with a rich person at a time like this?

"Don't count on Catherine. She doesn't see us as family at all. Clara, don't go looking for her."

Just thinking about Catherine made Celeste feel pain where she'd been beaten, her whole body uncomfortable.

If Clara really went to find Catherine, she might get beaten up too.

Clara didn't take it seriously. Celeste probably wanted to go ask Catherine for money herself, and after getting it, wouldn't care about her anymore!

After hanging up, Clara looked at the guards outside her door.

She needed to find a chance to escape. Otherwise, she'd either have to go to jail, or have Lucas's baby and then go to jail. Just thinking about it terrified her!

Meanwhile, Catherine was eating while listening to Sophia dramatically describe the scene she'd witnessed that afternoon.

"Boss, you have no idea. That Lucas went to the hospital for treatment, absolutely filthy. Then several women called him saying they were pregnant, and he denied every single one."

"I had a hospital scene to shoot and happened to see this interesting drama unfold."

Everyone around, including the doctor, looked at Lucas differently after that.

Catherine already knew what kind of person Lucas was, so she wasn't surprised.

"Nothing to do with me."

She'd never taken someone like Lucas seriously.

Sophia whistled, looking at Alexander who was grilling meat for Catherine.

"True. Your fiancé now is actually a decent person. Lucas is just trash at best."

Alexander's smile didn't change, taking it as a compliment from someone close to Catherine.

Sophia had come to deliver documents to Catherine after work and stayed for dinner. Watching Alexander's attentive care for Catherine, she suddenly felt a bit envious.

Nightfall’s hand was still injured, yet he was grilling meat and serving food to Catherine. It was almost too much to watch.

Outside the restaurant, Lucas was holding a few models he'd just met, heading to a hotel.

Turning his head, he spotted Catherine standing at the entrance of the barbecue restaurant, and his eyes lit up.

"Babe, wait for me a sec. I see someone I know."

Catherine stood alone under the streetlight, bathed in warm yellow light. Her presence was cool and refreshing, her dress particularly eye-catching, like an angel. Lucas thought of what Molly had said today, and his heart started itching.

He walked toward Catherine. "Catherine, are you waiting here for me?"

Catherine glanced at Sophia behind her and said coldly, "Turn off the surveillance cameras around here."

"Okay!"

Lucas didn't understand, thinking Catherine wanted to turn off the cameras to meet with him privately. Before his smile could fully form, he took a solid punch to the face. Sharp punches and kicks landed without mercy, beating Lucas until he screamed.

Catherine rubbed her wrist and took the wet wipe Alexander handed her to clean her hands.

"So dirty. Even a toilet is cleaner than you."

Lucas looked at Catherine and Alexander beside her, kicking his legs backward in fear.

"You dare hit me?"

"I didn't want to deal with you people originally, but you had to show up in front of me. Really disgusting."

"Catherine, you can't touch me! You think this man beside you will help you? I'm not afraid of you! If you dare touch me, I won't let you get away with it!"

Catherine shook her head disdainfully.

"Sophia, teach him a lesson, then throw him to the police."

"Got it!"

Teaching people lessons was their specialty.

They'd make sure Lucas felt a home-like warmth that would make him never want to go home again!

Catherine looked away, her expression calm. "Don't be too harsh. At least make him walk around me for the rest of his life."

Sophia smiled.

"The lab just got a batch of new electric shock equipment with no one to test it on. He'd be perfect, and he could contribute to scientific research. Though he might end up like a piece of grilled meat."

Thinking about having just eaten barbecue, Sophia quickly pushed the disgusting thought out of her mind.

Sensing trouble, Lucas shouted desperately, "Catherine, you're a shameless woman! It's your good fortune that I'm interested in you. Don't be ungrateful!"

"I might believe you if you hadn't wet yourself."

Lucas's pants were soaking wet—he'd actually been scared into wetting himself by Catherine's punches and intimidating presence!

Sophia and several Faceless Ones members covered Lucas's mouth and disappeared into the alley.

The model who'd been waiting for Lucas saw what was happening and ran off without a trace.

"After you're done with him, can you hand him over to me?"

Catherine looked up at Alexander. He stood where moonlight and streetlight intermingled, his body bathed in noble, brilliant light.

"What do you want him for?"

"Probably something more interesting than sending him to jail."

Catherine nodded. "Whatever. I'm not interested in him."

Alexander suddenly leaned forward and took Catherine's hand. He narrowed his eyes slightly, looking at the powerful and beautiful Catherine before him.

"Under the streetlight, there are two shadows. One is mine, and the other is also mine."
