Chapter 202 Refusing to Become a Disciple, Just Lucky!

Chapter 202 Refusing to Become a Disciple, Just Lucky!

"Gavin, you know about burns too?"

Gavin smiled with a mysterious look and patted George on the shoulder.

"Not really, but I know someone who can definitely make sure Emilia's burn won't leave a scar. Let me reach out to her."

George knew that anyone Gavin mentioned like this must be reliable!

"Great, I'll wait for your good news then. If your friend needs payment for expensive medical treatment, just come to me. Emilia probably doesn't have that much money right now."

"No problem, my friend charges fair prices."

Catherine looked at Gavin winking at her and looked away in annoyance.

Making sure Emilia's burn wouldn't scar was simple—just find time to go to the lab and make some ointment.

Juniper hugged Catherine's shoulders from behind, clicking her tongue in wonder.

"Catherine, don't you think George is acting a bit weird? Is he doing charity or something?"

Offering to pay Emilia's medical bills—something seemed off no matter how you looked at it.

Catherine nodded. "George almost hurt Emilia before. Maybe his conscience is bothering him?"

"You're kidding! George has a conscience? Richard ate it long ago!"

George tapped Juniper on the head, then gently ruffled Catherine's hair.

"Don't let her corrupt you, Catherine. Don't listen to Juniper's nonsense! I just feel sorry for her, nothing else."

"There are so many people to feel sorry for. Why aren't you paying other people's medical bills?"

"Juniper, don't make me beat you up in the hospital!"

Watching Juniper and George playfully fighting, wanting to hit each other but afraid of hurting Catherine, their movements just light touches, Catherine felt a warmth in her heart.

Paloma appeared in the hallway pushing Owen.

Juniper quickly slid behind Owen and immediately complained.

"Owen, George hit me! Unethical doctor with no medical ethics—I'm reporting him!"

Owen could tell George was just playing around with Juniper. He shook his head helplessly and looked at Gavin.

"Gavin, how's my grandson doing?"

"He's doing well so far. Would you like to see him?"

"Of course I need to see him. His parents aren't even in the country—how would I explain it if something happened!"

Owen looked at Juniper and Catherine. "Why don't you both come in with me?"

Catherine knew Owen wanted Juniper to see the patient inside, who was technically Juniper's cousin.

Juniper nodded. "Okay, we'll go with Owen to see him."

"Okay."

Paloma smiled helplessly. "Thank you all so much."

Paloma's health wasn't good. When her condition relapsed last year, she almost died. After thinking it over and discussing with Marcus, Owen decided not to tell Paloma about this.

Owen patted Juniper's hand, wanting to say something but holding back, his emotions complex.

He knew how cruel it was to Juniper not to tell Paloma about this. But if he told Paloma and it upset her, Owen worried he might lose her!

Owen sighed. "Let's go in and see him."

In the hospital room, Tiberius Harrison lay in bed connected to countless tubes. Seeing Owen enter, his fingers moved slightly.

"Just lie still. As long as you're okay, that's all that matters. You really scared me."

Gavin, standing by the bed, looked at Catherine and lowered his voice. "He's doing well. All his vitals are stable. The surgery was very successful."

Catherine nodded slightly. "Got it. If there are any complications later, just call me and I'll handle it."

"You really won't tell George? This is such a big achievement."

"If you don't want it, I'll find someone else next time."

Gavin was very happy. He'd get department recognition for at least the next three years—why would he turn that down!

Catherine glanced at Tiberius lying in bed. "Show me the data reports. Let's leave this space to Owen and them."

Gavin followed Catherine out, making room for the Harrison family.

Hearing that familiar voice, Tiberius's fingers moved again.

Starry Residence Moonlight Mansion, The Windsor Mansion.

With the stone gambling competition over, the Windsor family's position in the stone gambling world would be unmatched. Charles's face was full of bright smiles.

That was half the jade market! Just thinking about how much money they could make put Charles in an excellent mood.

Plus, the Hughes family had completely gone bankrupt, which made him even happier. It looked like George had been very efficient!

Oscar sat in the living room with Sophia massaging his back.

"Press harder. Didn't you eat?"

"No, I'm an actress. I need to maintain my figure, you know?"

"Maintain what! With the kind of acting you do, you call yourself an actress? You've completely wasted what I taught you!"

Sophia swung her fist in a full circle and smashed it into Oscar's shoulder, then sat aside sulking.

Being an actress was her dream. She knew Oscar would give her trouble once he found out.

Richard blinked and wisely moved over to massage Oscar while looking at Sophia, with whom he'd worked many times.

"Are Sophia and Oscar in a teacher-student relationship?"

Oscar happily enjoyed Richard's massage, feeling much better about the Windsor family.

"No, no. I don't recognize this student."

Within Galactic Aurora Collective, while they called it a teacher-student relationship, it was more about inheritance—the older generation raising the younger and passing down everything they'd learned.

Unfortunately, Sophia just wasn't interested in stone gambling.

Whether Oscar and Sophia or Dominic and Mars, none acknowledged the teacher-student relationship publicly—it was just caring for the young, not a formal apprenticeship.

Bethany was also very happy and said cheerfully, "Thanks to Oscar today. The Windsor family will cover all your activities in Imperia City."

"No problem! Where's your daughter? I think she has potential for stone gambling. Let's see if she'd like to learn from me!"

The Windsor family looked at Oscar in shock.

Oscar was a Jade Oracle of the older generation. The jade he cut was always top quality. The Windsor family had countless pieces of jade from Oscar's work.

Catherine stood in the doorway, looking at Oscar helplessly.

"Not interested. I have a lot of other things to do and no time for stone gambling. You can go now. The hotel's all arranged."

Oscar turned to see Catherine and met her warning gaze with a happy smile.

"I just thought you had talent since the stone you cut yesterday was so good."

"Just lucky."

Catherine knew Oscar couldn't resist showing off. Seeing Dominic publicly acknowledge his relationship with Catherine, he was itching to do the same.

She wasn't ready to reveal her stone gambling identity to the Windsor family yet.

Oscar had been waiting for Catherine and felt relieved seeing her back.

The Windsor family was afraid Oscar might be upset. Bethany quickly stood up.

"Oscar, Catherine doesn't mean it that way. She really doesn't understand stone gambling! She just has good luck. Thank you for your kind offer, but since Catherine says she's not interested, maybe we should think about this more carefully?"

Bethany would never do anything to make Catherine unhappy. Since Catherine said she wasn't interested, he wouldn't make her do something she didn't want to.

Oscar glanced at Bethany.

This father seemed decent—more reliable than the last one.

Oscar looked away and waved at Catherine.

"Fine, I'm leaving. I left you a gift—remember to open it!"
