Chapter 196 The Cost of Snatching Someone, One Shot to the Head!
On the fifth floor, right behind Alexander was a concrete pillar broken in half - one wrong step and he risked falling down!
"Nightfall, I'll give you five minutes to think about whether you want to join us!"
The Thunderstrike Mercenaries looked at the now isolated and helpless Alexander, their faces full of sinister smiles of imminent victory.
Danielle watched Alexander trapped at the fifth-floor window, her heart involuntarily pounding violently.
Alexander showed no extra emotion. His handsome face seemed to have been scraped by something sharp, with a bloody mark falling across his resolute profile, making his gaze sharp and serious, carrying a cold and deadly light.
Even at this moment, he remained so calm, still radiating that captivating aura of a king!
As long as Nightfall agreed to join them, Nightfall would be hers from now on!
"Just with you guys?"
Alexander chuckled softly, unhurriedly removing his watch and cufflinks, carefully putting them away like treasures.
Only after finishing this did he roll up his sleeves, revealing his muscular arms. The gun at his side had no bullets, but if they thought they could keep him here, they were delusional!
Danielle was getting anxious. "Nightfall, as long as you agree to join us, we won't hurt you today! Shadow Syndicate's people have all been blocked by us - they can't get through!"
Alexander looked at them with contempt, his gaze making everyone present tremble from within!
"Thunderstrike Mercenaries are acting recklessly, and Blade of Dusk doesn't care about their lives either? Or are you saying you don't care about Maurice and Anthony's lives?"
The leader, wearing a coat and smoking a cigar, said, "As long as you die, Maurice and Anthony will be safe."
Alexander shook his head regretfully. "I was only planning to clean up Blade of Dusk, but now I want to clean up the Hughes family too."
His gaze carried a chill. Even though he was alone, he still made everyone afraid to underestimate him!
"Do it! Kill him!"
Danielle shouted, "Nightfall, just agree to join us! Come back to the border with us, Thunderstrike Mercenaries will protect you!"
A cool, indifferent voice rang out from above everyone's heads.
"What makes you think so? Just because of Thunderstrike Mercenaries?"
Danielle was shocked and looked up to see Catherine, who had somehow jumped down from the sixth floor!
Catherine moved extremely fast, bouncing lightly and landing on the ground, where Alexander reached out and caught her steadily.
"How did you get here?"
Catherine handed Alexander a gun and said calmly, "I heard your people were blocked, so I came to see if you needed my help."
She came herself just to see if he needed help?
Alexander knew Catherine must be worried about him. An inappropriate joy surged in his heart, making him smile.
Seeing the smile on Alexander's face, Danielle was also stunned. Thinking that this smile appeared because of Catherine, she was extremely jealous!
Danielle glared viciously at Catherine.
"So you really are here. Since you've come too, I won't waste energy looking for you!"
"You don't think just the two of you can escape from us, do you?"
Catherine looked at her with contempt, her disdain extreme, as if Danielle before her was nothing but an insignificant insect!
"Escape? I never run away."
Catherine clapped her hands, and suddenly a huge explosion came from the building next door - an entire building collapsed in an instant!
"Oops, I pressed the wrong one. This building also has bombs - I pressed the one next door by mistake."
"You actually planted bombs here? Aren't you afraid of being discovered by the higher-ups?"
Catherine shrugged indifferently. "You guys dared to dig up the highway, what wouldn't I dare to do?"
Besides, these bombs were all taken from The Velvet Lounge last time - the ones Ethan had planted. Even if the higher-ups found out, it would be Abyssal Blades' responsibility. What did it have to do with them?
Catherine suddenly aimed at the Thunderstrike Mercenaries' leader and pulled the trigger on her sniper rifle!
Without any chance to react, the Thunderstrike Mercenaries' leader fell to the ground clutching his chest!
Catherine's gun barrel pointed at Danielle!
"Look at me, how did I miss? I should have shot you instead!"
"Are you crazy? You killed our leader - Thunderstrike Mercenaries won't let you go!"
Catherine laughed. "Let me think, which button was for this building's bombs? What if I press the wrong one again?"
Alexander stood behind her. "It's fine. If it's wrong, it's wrong. One of them will be right eventually."
The Blade of Dusk leader gritted his teeth. "Kill them! Don't let this woman go crazy!"
If Catherine really had installed bombs here, they were done for!
As soon as he finished speaking, a bullet passed by Catherine and Alexander and instantly pierced through his head!
Catherine looked at the leader whose head had exploded, showing no extra emotion.
"Sorry about that, my people are a bit careless. I'll tell them to be more careful and kill a few more next time."
Danielle's gaze turned cold. "You brought Faceless Ones people? Damn it! Hurry up and attack, don't let them get out alive!"
The sound of bullets hitting the ground and a woman falling came together. Catherine glanced indifferently at Danielle lying on the ground with her eyes still open.
"I should have shot through your head last time at Ironclad Jail. What a shame."
Alexander chuckled softly. "It's fine, now works too."
A few years ago in Northern Myanterra, Catherine had saved his life just like this. He never expected that after all this time, Catherine would still descend from above to save him!
Being protected by her - this feeling was actually pretty good.
Catherine put away her gun and looked at Alexander beside her.
"I'm really going to blow this place up. Aren't you scared?"
"Not scared."
Alexander reached out to wipe the dust smudged on Catherine's face, his eyes full of affection.
"Whatever you want to do, I'll be with you!"
"How about jumping off a building while we're at it?"
Catherine curved her lips, grabbed Alexander's hand, and suddenly leaped forward before Blade of Dusk's people could rush up!
Blade of Dusk's gunfire and the building's explosion sounded simultaneously - an entire building was leveled in an instant!
Alexander's hand hooked around Catherine's waist, his other hand gripping the rope dropped from the helicopter. The two were quickly transferred to a safe location.
Catherine looked at the wounds on Alexander's face and body from the explosion debris and pressed her lips together. "Sorry, I let you get hurt."
Catherine knew this plan would result in injuries, but she hadn't expected Alexander to hold her tightly during the explosion, not letting her get scratched by the blast debris at all.
Instead, Alexander was covered in wounds, looking particularly frightening.
"It's fine, as long as you're okay. I'm happy to be able to protect you."
Alexander bent down and hugged Catherine, his lips landing on her somewhat cool face, his voice carrying deep exhaustion and attachment.
"Before that, I need to sleep for a bit. As for the wounds, I'll trouble you to take care of them. Good night."
After saying this, he passed out.
Catherine quickly reached out to catch Alexander, not letting his body fall.
She remembered that Alexander had been injured before and had been forcing himself to hold on!
Alexander was too tall, and it wasn't convenient for Catherine to hold him. If they went to the hospital, Felix would definitely find out he was injured.
"Let's go to Galactic Aurora Collective!"
