Chapter 170 Elodie's Past Friends

Chapter 170 Elodie's Past Friends

Below Ironclad Jail, over a dozen snipers simultaneously aimed at the helicopter in the sky!

Catherine put down her binoculars and looked at Alexander beside her.

"If they all shoot at once, can you dodge it?"

"It'll be tough."

Ironclad Jail had layers of security checkpoints. They could only enter directly because someone above had greased the wheels and they'd taken a special route.

Catherine turned around and pulled out a metal case from behind, putting on pitch-black gloves.

"I need five minutes to assemble the sniper rifle. I'm counting on you for those five minutes."

Alexander nodded, his cold gaze fixed on the pitch-black prison below.

"Five minutes is no problem, but there are too many of them. Getting past them will be a bit tricky."

Catherine said coldly, "I have no intention of confronting them. My target is someone else!"

The sniper rifle parts quickly came together in Catherine's hands. She set up the rifle, calculated the trajectory, and aimed at a window in the distance!

A black tower stood at the highest point, and inside its window, it seemed like a pair of eyes was watching them.

The moment Catherine aimed at that window, the number of sniper rifles targeting them from below clearly multiplied!

Alexander took out his phone and dialed.

"Timothy, long time no see."

Timothy let out a cold laugh, his voice carrying a low rasp, as if his throat had been damaged by a sharp weapon.

"Catherine's not very obedient, is she? Does she even know who I am, daring to aim at me? Is this what Marcus's granddaughter is like?"

Catherine's voice rang out calmly.

"How my grandfather is has nothing to do with you. If you've got the guts to take us down with you, I'm afraid the bracelet you want will shatter too."

Catherine waved her hand in front of the sniper rifle, revealing a clear jade bracelet. The jade was of excellent quality, without a single flaw, and especially rare with its green color tinged with purple—one in a million!

"The bracelet is in your hands? How did it end up with you?"

Catherine sneered.

"My grandmother gave it to me, of course it's with me. You tried to buy the bracelet from that idiot Oliver—you picked the wrong person."

The IP address of the person buying the jade bracelet had disappeared into Ironclad Jail, and in this hellhole, not many people had the privilege of internet access. The man in the black tower across from them was clearly the highest authority in the tower.

Plus, when Catherine left, Marcus had specifically told her to bring along the video Elodie had recorded.

Catherine had guessed then that Ironclad Jail might have some connection to Elodie!

"Your grandmother? What's your grandmother's name?"

Timothy on the other end suddenly stood up, his aged, raspy voice trembling uncontrollably!

Catherine pulled down the safety on her sniper rifle while answering coldly, "Elodie Smith!"

Hearing that name, Timothy immediately opened his window and roared, "Everyone down there, get lost! Let them in! Anyone who dares shoot can go feed the sharks!"

Catherine lowered her sniper rifle, somewhat regretfully saying, "I was planning to shoot you dead. What a shame."

Timothy said nothing, staring intently at the people in the helicopter!

Once Catherine's bullet left the chamber, even if Timothy had walls of iron, he wouldn't survive.

Hearing Catherine's voice, Alexander chuckled softly and affectionately ruffled her hair.

"I'm also disappointed I didn't get to see you shoot. Let's have a match sometime."

The leader of Faceless Ones was famous as a sharpshooter, never missing a shot, one bullet per kill!

As the leader of the rival Shadow Syndicate, he also wanted to see Catherine at her most brilliant!

Catherine raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Sure."

The helicopter landed directly at the base of the black tower. Several burly men over 6.5 feet tall, bare-chested and covered in rock-hard muscles, looked fierce and menacing.

Behind them sat an old man in his seventies.

Timothy had a scar running from his eyelid down to his chin. His eyes were as vicious and sinister as a lone wolf in the desert—one glance was enough to make people's hearts tremble with fear.

He watched Catherine and Alexander walk in.

Catherine, carrying a heavy sniper rifle, wore a black tactical jumpsuit and high-heeled leather boots. Her gaze at Timothy showed no fear, but was full of contempt and disdain!

Catherine said coldly, "Timothy, this kind of power play at the door is incredibly childish. If you want to go to kindergarten, Faceless Ones actually has a suitable place."

Alexander's hand rested on Catherine's waist. "Faceless Ones runs kindergartens?"

"When we took down Galactic Aurora Collective, we rescued some people with disabilities. Their brains are damaged, and their IQ is about the same as Timothy's!"

Hearing these two young people who didn't know their place dare to mock Timothy, the surrounding people immediately raised their sniper rifles!

Timothy impatiently waved his hand.

"Get out. You two, come here."

Timothy completely ignored Alexander, looking at Catherine with an inexplicably intense gaze!

"You said your grandmother is Elodie? So she's now..."

"She passed away from illness. Brain cancer."

Hearing this news, Timothy seemed both unable to believe it and forced to accept it. He sat on his throne encrusted with numerous gems, diamonds, and high-grade jade, his eyes dejected.

"Your bracelet, let me see it."

Catherine said warily, "This is what my grandmother left me. What if you don't give it back?"

Timothy actually had that intention!

This bracelet was Elodie's favorite thing. Just seeing it made Timothy think of what Elodie looked like.

"Give me the bracelet, and I'll give you the person you want!"

Catherine said coldly, "In your dreams! This is what my grandmother left me! How shameless can you be, stealing from a kid?"

Timothy was stunned for a moment!

He hadn't thought of Catherine as a kid at all!

What kid could cross borders without batting an eye, pointing a sniper rifle at his head?

What kid would dare call him shameless!

"What else did you bring? Do you have photos of your grandmother? Let me see!"

Catherine took out her phone and handed it to Timothy.

Timothy looked for a long time, somewhat unsatisfied.

"Only three? Don't you have others?"

Catherine said coldly, "I do. I even have videos. But why should I show them to you?"

Timothy looked at Catherine and for the first time in his life felt somewhat helpless!

"You're very bold. Do you know who I am?"

Catherine sneered, looking down at the fierce-looking Timothy!

"Do I need to know? All I need to know is that if you were my grandmother's friend, at least I never saw you when I lived with her. If my grandmother was important to you, why didn't you look for her? If she wasn't important, then I have no reason to show you my grandmother's things!"

Why hadn't he looked for Elodie?

This question deeply wounded Timothy!

"I didn't know Elodie was still alive. I thought she was dead!"

Catherine crossed her arms, extremely cold as she took her phone back from Timothy.

"I'm grandmother's only family, and now you're bullying me in front of her photo!"

A hint of mischief flashed in Alexander's eyes.

Timothy was the type who responded to softness, not hardness. In his early years, he became the king of the border region because he had real power.

Alexander had thought Catherine would get into a direct fight with Timothy and was ready to protect her.

But he hadn't expected Catherine to have already discovered that Timothy and Elodie seemed to have some special relationship!

Catherine was indeed smart enough.

Timothy panicked!

"No, I didn't mean that! Elodie, I'm not bullying her! I was just, just joking with you, yes, joking!"

Catherine looked at him and became even more certain that he and Elodie must have known each other before.

"Where's the person I want? Let me see him."

Timothy rubbed his hands together, called over a subordinate, whispered a few words, and the subordinate immediately ran out.

"I'll let you see him. But he might not tell the truth. Jacob's level of cunning is something even I've never seen before."

Catherine nodded. She naturally had her own ways to make Jacob talk.

Five minutes later, the subordinate rushed in from outside.

"Jacob suddenly fell ill. He's about to die!"
