Chapter 139: Dominic Appears
Getting into Alexander's car, Catherine immediately noticed that his eyes never left her!
He held Catherine's hand, reluctant to let go.
"Let go."
"Can I hold it for a bit? I haven't seen you all night. I missed you."
Catherine glanced at Alexander and said coolly, "Someone wants to hire me to kill you. The price is tempting. I think it's worth considering."
Alexander laughed but still let go of Catherine's hand as she asked. However, he shifted his whole body closer, sitting right next to Catherine.
Though he wasn't holding her hand anymore, he was even closer to her now!
Alexander leaned in close to Catherine, his presence completely surrounding her. He said in a low voice, "If you want my life, come and take it."
"If you put it that way, I really will think about it."
After all, no one turns down money.
Alexander pulled out his checkbook, signed it, and handed it to Catherine.
"However much they're offering, I'll match it to buy back my life. Until then, consider it stored with you."
Can something like that even be stored?
Catherine reached out and took the thin check between her fingers.
No amount was written - clearly he was leaving that up to her!
"Can I know who wants me dead?"
"Someone from the Hughes family."
Alexander didn't seem surprised at all.
"Why didn't you agree?"
Catherine met Alexander's eyes, which were full of teasing amusement, and said coldly, "Not worth it. Keeping you alive, I can still make money."
She waved the check in her hand.
Even without agreeing to Michael's request, Alexander would give her the same amount anyway. Killing him wouldn't be very profitable.

Outside the gallery, Felix stared at the exhaust from Alexander's departing car, annoyed!
"That Alexander! Why did he drop Catherine off and leave by himself? Is work at the company really that important? Doesn't he know to make time to spend with Catherine!"
Felix knew himself that the Howard Group had a lot of complicated business.
But he was still somewhat dissatisfied with Alexander's behavior of not knowing how to spend time with his fiancée. Did he know how outstanding Catherine was? What if someone else took an interest in her while he wasn't around?

"I heard Catherine's gallery has an exhibition today. How come I don't see any paintings? Are we just here to watch the Windsor family have a reunion? If you want to have a reunion, you don't need to use an art exhibition as an excuse."
Richard stood beside Catherine, frowning. "This guy is still so annoying!"
"You don't like him?"
"Who likes him? Michael is a bastard child. The Hughes family doesn't even take him seriously. A couple years ago he tried to pursue Juniper and we beat him up. Later when he found out Juniper wasn't the Windsor family's biological daughter, he went and insulted Juniper, so we beat him up again."
Michael was just a bastard child of the Hughes family?

Catherine didn't expect Michael and the Windsor family to have such a history!

She lifted her skirt and walked forward. "Mr. Chambers, you're here."
From the crowd, Dominic, wearing a custom Quinn suit, entered everyone's view.
Dominic looked vigorous and alert, his eyes sharp.
He wanted to see what the person trying to bully Catherine looked like - he'd remember them all and tell those old guys back home later!
"My student is holding my exhibition, and you're worried there won't be paintings? As for the letter of consent, even if my student wanted to hold ten of my exhibitions, I'd agree to all of them!"
Michael's eyes were full of shock!
