Chapter 69: Expel Catherine from the Windsor Family
Oliver was thrown straight out of the hospital building.
After hearing what he just said, Andrew showed no mercy at all and tossed him directly onto the cement ground.
Oliver grimaced in pain!
What was wrong with the Windsor family? Why did they always like to throw people out!
Last time he went to deliver a gift, he was also thrown out by the Windsor family. This time he just talked to a caregiver around Marcus, and he got thrown out again!
Catherine was such an ungrateful person.
If they hadn't kicked her out of the house, would Catherine have had the chance to meet the Windsor family?
Now that she had latched onto the Windsor family, she didn't care about the Smith family's fate anymore.
Oliver returned to Celeste's hospital room, fuming with anger.
"If you hadn't made the decision to cut ties with Catherine on your own, she'd still be our daughter now, and I wouldn't have been so humiliated."
Celeste was also full of anger.
"She's just a caregiver. If you want her as a daughter, you might not feel embarrassed, but I do!"
"Catherine is an ungrateful person. We can't count on her at all. Instead of going to her, you should think of other ways."
Oliver asked doubtfully, "What other ways could there be?"
Celeste leaned against her pillow with a knowing smile.
"I just heard the nurses say that Lila is also in this hospital. Whether it's Marcus or Lila, they're both Windsor family members. If one path doesn't work, we'll take another."
Oliver's eyes lit up!
Lila would be great—she'd definitely be easier to talk to than Marcus. Then she could put in a good word with Marcus, and the Smith family could come back to life.
"Good thing we still have those gifts. Let's take them to Lila now!"
The Smith family members, like they'd taken stimulants, grabbed their bags and headed toward Lila's hospital room.
Lila lay in her hospital bed, looking calm and peaceful. Sunlight from the window fell on her white hair—if you didn't know better, you'd think she was a kind and gentle old lady.
"Mrs. Windsor, we're from the Smith family in Serenitia City. We heard you're not feeling well, so we specially brought you some gifts!"
Lila opened her eyes to see three strangers standing by her bed.
Bringing her gifts?
Since Marcus had forbidden her from associating with other families, no one had given her gifts in years!
What were these people here for?
Lila looked at the three petty-looking people in front of her and snorted coldly.
"Take everything away. I'm not interested."
"Mrs. Lila Windsor, we just came from Mr. Marcus Windsor. It was Mr. Marcus Windsor who told us to bring these things to you. He said you're not feeling well and he's thinking of you!"
Hearing that Marcus had sent them, Lila's eyes widened immediately!
She knew Marcus still cared about her. They'd spent a lifetime together—Marcus wouldn't be so heartless.
"Then leave them. You can go now."
Oliver's face was full of flattering smiles as he rubbed his hands together.
"Lila, we're Catherine's adoptive parents. We wanted to ask if Catherine has been behaving herself?"
Catherine's adoptive parents?
Hearing this, the disdain in Lila's eyes grew even stronger.
No wonder she felt these people had a certain stench about them—they were Catherine's adoptive parents.
Sure enough, they all came from the same place—crude and vulgar.
"Behaving? Whether she behaves or not has nothing to do with me. As long as I'm alive, she'll never enter the Windsor family!"
The Smith family members perked up when they heard this!
Didn't Lila's words mean Catherine could never marry Charles? No matter how hard she tried, others didn't take her seriously at all!
Clara felt much better.
"Catherine is my sister. We grew up together. When we were young, she liked to play with lots of boys. She originally had an engagement with my fiancé, but she wasn't chaste."
Lila frowned, as if hearing something dirty.
"I knew Catherine was up to no good! What exactly are you here for?"
"We mainly don't want you to be deceived by Catherine. She's never been a well-behaved child! My mother was literally driven to death by her! If you want to know anything about Catherine, we can help."
Lila's eyes showed some interest.
Although she looked down on these three people, as long as they could offer something that interested her, she didn't mind listening.
"Mrs. Windsor, you must kick Catherine out of the Windsor family! We cut ties with her because she's had sticky fingers since childhood."
"Sticky fingers?"
Oliver told her about his lost contract.
"The Windsor family has a huge fortune. If Catherine does something at home, the losses would be enormous!"
Lila was shocked when she heard this!
This was serious!
She took out her phone and called Bethany directly.
But Bethany was still busy comforting Aurora and didn't answer even after ten consecutive calls!
"Mr. Windsor must be busy. Why don't you give me Mr. Windsor's number, and I'll contact him."
Oliver looked at Lila eagerly.
"Alright, you must tell my son everything she's done in detail. Don't let my son be deceived."
"Yes, yes!"
Oliver left his phone number and walked out of the hospital room cheerfully with Bethany's number.
"Looking at Lila's reaction just now, Catherine probably hasn't done anything good at the Windsor family either. Good thing we cut ties with her—she might have dragged us down later."
Celeste agreed completely.
"Hurry back and contact Bethany. As long as the Windsor family helps, we can definitely get through this crisis."
The Martinez Mansion
The courtyard was filled with priceless flowers and plants. The scenery of small bridges and flowing water was particularly elegant and refined, full of charm.
Aurora sat in a lounge chair, letting Bethany flatteringly massage her legs.
"Aurora, don't be angry anymore. Look how scared Catherine was today."
"Do you think I wanted to be angry? Your mom forced me!"
Bethany smiled awkwardly. "My mom is old and her mind doesn't work well. Next time she calls you over, just ignore her."
Aurora glared at him, full of charm.
"You think I want to deal with her? I only thought that if she bothered me, she wouldn't have time to pick on Catherine. I'm telling you, she can bully me all she wants, but if she tries to bully Catherine, I'm not done with her!"
Bethany quickly nodded.
"Don't worry! Catherine is our precious darling. No one can bully her."
As soon as he finished speaking, his phone rang.
"Who is it?"
"Mr. Windsor! I'm Oliver from Serenitia City. I want to tell you some things about your family's caregiver Catherine! That Catherine is cunning and vicious. She's disrespectful to her parents and elders. Since childhood, she's been cruel to our daughter. She's not suitable to stay by Marcus's side as a caregiver..."
Bethany looked confused at first, but the more he listened, the angrier he got.
He almost wanted to reach through the phone and strangle Oliver!
In his younger days, he was a powerful figure, a titan in his field. It was only after the Windsor family children took over the business that Bethany retired, which made him seem like the most easygoing person in the family.
Bethany's face turned cold, his whole body radiating a chilling aura that even Aurora beside him noticed something was wrong.
"What's wrong? Who's calling?"
Oliver kept going on and on.
"Your wife is there too, right? This is very important. I guarantee in my name that if Catherine stays with the Windsor family, she'll definitely harm you. Otherwise, we wouldn't have kicked her out of our home!"
