Chapter 57: Learn to Complain
Speaking of this, everyone in the Galactic Aurora Collective was furious. Celeste and Oliver had no clue how badly they'd treated Catherine before.
When Catherine was just born, she was actually taken care of by Celeste's parents. But when Elodie went to check on Catherine, she discovered that Celeste's parents looked down on her and would only give her plain water to drink. Catherine almost died!
If Elodie hadn't taken Catherine away and raised her with such careful attention to every detail, there wouldn't be such an excellent and beautiful Catherine today!
Did the Smith family really think a child could grow up just drinking water?
Catherine's fighting skills were so good because she'd fought bears in the deep mountains and forests when she was little!
Yet Clara had always been kept by their side, with the excuse that Celeste needed a caretaker.
Now they had their eyes on Elodie's grave and were planning to take it over!
"What is Celeste even thinking? The grave would be useless to her anyway!"
Catherine frowned. "Aren't Celeste's parents still alive?"
"Exactly! They say they think Elodie's burial site has a good location, and they want to be buried there themselves after they die!"
What kind of family was this? Living people fighting with the dead over land.
"Tell Oliver about this. Tell him that place is a once-in-a-century good location that will bring good fortune to future generations."
Saturn agreed to do it.
"Even if we tell Oliver, he'll probably just get fooled by Celeste. What if they really move the grave?"
Catherine let out a long sigh, her delicate eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"It's okay. If they really dare to touch Grandma's grave, I'll make them regret it."
Saturn breathed a sigh of relief. With Catherine's word, he felt reassured!
In the office, Charles pulled up all of Esme's records since enrollment, including every instance of her having someone attend classes and take exams for her.
"Principal, what does the school require for punishment?"
The principal hesitated for a moment but answered honestly: "Repeat one year, retake all courses, major demerit on record, warning of expulsion with probationary status. If she fails the retaken courses, she'll be expelled."
Charles nodded. "Let's go with that. Please have all teachers make sure not to skip Esme during attendance. I'll donate equipment to the school, and from now on all class check-ins will use facial recognition."
The principal beamed with joy!
This was a great method!
Catherine pushed the door open and walked in. Hearing this, she looked embarrassed.
If Charles really did this, probably all the students at Medical University would curse him behind his back.
"Charles, that's not really appropriate."
Charles smiled, his thin lips curving into an elegant arc.
The principal disagreed: "Ms. Windsor, our school is Medical University after all. Only by studying seriously now can we reduce error rates in the operating room later and make lab data more accurate!"
Catherine nodded. It seemed Medical University had very strict standards and knew how to teach according to students' abilities.
"If you're interested, please consider our school!"
"I will."
After Charles finished handling Esme's matter, he pulled Catherine out of the school.
"Catherine, you didn't look too happy after that phone call. Can you tell me why? Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to!"
Catherine thought for a moment. Originally she didn't want the Smith family's affairs to disturb her family, but after seeing Lucas just now, she realized Charles had already known about those things and had even helped her deal with them without her knowing!
Charles reached out and touched Catherine's hair, saying gently: "Don't worry, it's normal for girls to have concerns. Did Alexander bully you? Tell me, I'll take people to beat him up!"
Catherine was helpless.
What could this have to do with Alexander?
After hesitating for a moment, she told him what happened and her concerns.
Charles understood. He knew Catherine and Elodie had a deep bond, and could even say that without Elodie there wouldn't be the Catherine of today. The Windsor family owed Elodie a debt of gratitude!
"Catherine, I'll arrange for someone to find a better burial site for Elodie. Maybe she actually wants to stay by your side? We'll move her grave to Imperia City, then buy the Smith family's old house so no one can disturb her rest anymore, and it'll be convenient for you to visit her!"
"If she were still alive, our whole family should express our gratitude. She raised Catherine so well! I'll arrange this. Rest assured, even though you've returned to the Windsor family, Elodie will always be your grandmother and my elder too!"
Their Catherine was beautiful, gentle, strong and thoughtful—the best sister in the world!
And all of this had nothing to do with Oliver and Celeste.
Catherine had originally arranged Elodie's grave there because Elodie said before she died that she wanted to go home, so Catherine buried her near the old house.
Maybe, as Charles said, Elodie wanted to stay with her more!
"Okay, thank you Charles."
Meanwhile, a call from Medical University's academic affairs office came to Esme's phone.
When Esme heard the school's decision, she nearly went crazy.
Academic probation with warning of expulsion?
If the Windsor family found out about this, she'd definitely get scolded to death!
"What? Are you crazy! Just having someone take exams for me is this serious? Do you know who my grandfather is?"
The principal said calmly: "We've already reported to Mr. Windsor, and he fully supports the school's decision."
Esme was furious.
Hadn't she just told Marcus yesterday that she was the one being bullied?
What was going on!
Esme didn't want to waste an extra year at school. Going to class with a bunch of poor college students every day was just stupid. She'd rather spend that time getting dressed up and going out to socialize with friends—that's where the real connections were!
After hanging up, Esme rushed to leave for the hospital to find Marcus and ask him to put in a good word for her.
As long as Marcus was willing to call the principal, no one would dare pursue this matter.
"Where's the driver?"
"The driver was sent out by Mrs. Windsor to pick something up."
Aurora had her own personal driver, so why did she need to use other drivers?
"What needs picking up that requires so many people?"
Could it be that Aurora finally realized her birthday was coming up and was sending her a birthday gift?
"They said it's agate."
Agate! It must be the piece she'd had her eye on last month!
If Aurora was willing, she actually wouldn't mind not going to college—just buy a degree!
Esme got more and more excited thinking about it!
"Did they say what it's for?"
"They said it's to replace the bathroom floor for Catherine. The current floor doesn't match the decor."
Replace the floor for Catherine? In the bathroom!
"Doesn't Catherine not even live here?"
She had a house at Starry Residence, so why bother renovating the room here?
"Mrs. Windsor said they're all Catherine's homes. Since Catherine isn't staying here these few days, she's planning to change Catherine's room to a new design."
Esme nearly choked.
Why were the Windsor family people so good to Catherine?
Catherine really didn't know what good things were—using agate for flooring, wasn't she worried about being too showy!
"Forget it, I'll take a taxi myself! Finding Marcus now is more important."
From The Windsor Mansion to where taxis were allowed was still several miles. After all, people living in the same neighborhood as the Windsor family all had their own cars, and taxis weren't even qualified to enter this area.
Esme walked to the entrance, her ankles covered in blisters from the rubbing, making her grimace in pain.
A car stopped in front of her. A man with a scar on his face rolled down the window, his sinister gaze falling on her.
"Miss, where to?"
Esme didn't bother to look carefully and got in the car. "Bright Heal Hospital, hurry up!"
The driver pulled down his baseball cap, covering his face.
"Don't worry, I'll definitely take you where you need to go."
"What do you mean? I want to go to Bright Heal Hospital. Don't you understand?"
Esme felt a bit uneasy. This man in front of her looked off no matter how you looked at him. Could he be a bad guy who was attracted to her beauty!
