Chapter 390 You Dare to Threaten Catherine
Chapter 390 You Dare to Threaten Catherine
"After all, you're not the only person in this world who knows Brandon."
"As it happens, I know him too."
Not only do I know him, we just had breakfast together this morning!
After hearing that Felix was seriously ill, Brandon had personally driven Marcus to the hospital to visit him!
This was the first time she had ever seen someone try to threaten Catherine using Brandon's name...
Lyra tugged at Rex's arm, clinging to him sweetly. "Mr. Vaughan, didn't you say you and Brandon were close brothers, the kind who had been through life-and-death situations together...?"
Rex himself couldn't even remember when he'd said that!
He pulled out his phone covered in flashy rhinestones and dialed Brandon's number.
A polite female voice answered: "Hello, this is Mr. Windsor's work line. May I ask who's calling? Do you have an appointment with Mr. Windsor?"
"I'm Rex, a friend of Mr. Windsor's!"
"Then please contact Mr. Windsor's private line. This one only handles business appointments."
Rex's face flushed with embarrassment as he muttered, "Mr. Windsor must be too busy..."
Catherine's voice came through: "My dad won't be going to the office today. Any business contracts should be forwarded to Charles."
The secretary immediately recognized Catherine's voice and said respectfully: "Yes, Ms. Catherine Windsor. Mr. Brandon Windsor has purchased new property for you. Should the contract be sent to your home?"
"I'm at the Windsor Group hotel today, send it here."
"Alright, and about this Mr. Vaughan...?"
Catherine said calmly: "He's causing trouble at the hotel, verbally insulting Windsor Group employees, and preventing me from calling the police. Just an ordinary guest."
The secretary said in surprise: "What? Are you okay, Ms. Catherine Windsor! I'll inform Mr. Brandon Windsor right away!"
"I'm fine."
The secretary breathed a sigh of relief and quickly recalled.
"I remember now. Rex is the one who rented Dylan's villa in the suburbs and never paid rent, right? Mr. Windsor hasn't had time to deal with it, and the legal department hasn't handled it yet!"
"Perfect, we'll deal with it all together!"
A drop of cold sweat rolled down Rex's chubby face.
He immediately panicked!
He glanced at Lyra beside him and said angrily: "Why didn't you tell me she's the Windsor family's daughter?"
Lyra couldn't quite get the words out.
In her eyes, Catherine wasn't even favored by the Windsor family... She was just someone brought back from the countryside. How loved could she really be?
Faye looked at Lyra with a complicated expression.
Having grown up together, Faye knew Lyra had become like this because the family's resources had been distributed unfairly.
They were both sisters, but all the family money went to support the more accomplished older sister, while the younger one received very little.
Because of this, Faye had been brainwashed by Lyra since childhood!
The Windsor family people will never treat you as one of their own!
In front of Rex, Lyra probably constantly claimed to be from a wealthy family, putting gold on her own face.
Meeting Catherine, someone truly wealthy, beautiful, dazzling, and deeply loved, was undoubtedly a harsh humiliation for Lyra!
Rex's face looked terrible, but then he thought about what Lyra had said.
If she really was wealthy, wouldn't someone pay off his debts?
Thinking this way, Rex couldn't bear to give up on Lyra!
"Ms. Catherine Windsor, I'm truly sorry. I was blind and didn't know you were Mr. Brandon Windsor's daughter! Mr. Brandon Windsor and I are good friends, so I'm actually your elder!"
Catherine fell silent for a moment.
Such shameless people were truly rare.
Dylan was Marcus's driver and had several villas built on homestead land in Imperia City's suburbs, with annual rent reaching millions of dollars.
Rex wouldn't even pay rent for a villa like that, which showed he was no real tycoon!
Catherine said mockingly: "Mr. Vaughan, with a brain like yours, you're certainly beyond what ordinary tycoons can match.I'll be reporting today's incident to the police."
"Wait, Catherine..."
"Mr. Vaughan, if you can't learn how to address people properly, at least learn how to speak, won't you?"
The small knife in Catherine's hand flashed coldly, its sharp blade spotless.
Her gaze was cold, carrying a hint of chill.
Rex immediately corrected himself: "Ms. Windsor, I'm truly sorry, I apologize to you!"
"No need, some things have professionals to handle them. I don't want to waste words with you."
As Catherine finished speaking, several police officers at the door surrounded them and took away Lyra and Rex!
The little boy holding a teddy bear looked somewhat panicked, watching helplessly as his father was taken away.
The police looked at the little boy.
"Ms. Windsor, it's not convenient to take this child to the police station. How about leaving him at the hotel for now?"
The child was still young, and there'd be no one to look after him at the police station.
Catherine met the child's cold eyes, feeling somewhat interested, and curved her lips.
"Our hotel is open for business, not a daycare. Better contact the child's family to pick him up."
Catherine was all too familiar with this child's gaze!
In the past, on the border, she'd seen many children who appeared cute and well-behaved on the surface, but whose eyes held traces of hatred!
The police nodded and led the little boy away by the hand.
Just as they walked out of the hotel, the little boy turned back, staring straight at Catherine.
"Do you know what happened to my dad's previous girlfriends?"
Catherine said coldly: "That has nothing to do with me."
"You made my dad lose face, which means you made me lose face too. I'll remember you."
The little boy was expressionless, his face identical to Rex's showing a viciousness beyond his years.
"Lady, do you know that minors who kill don't have to pay any price?"
His words startled the others!
Catherine rested her chin on one hand, gazing at the little boy.
"Whether there's a price to pay isn't for you to decide."
The little boy withdrew his expression and left the hotel with the police.
Faye felt a chill run down her back.
"Ms. Windsor, why does this child seem a bit scary? He doesn't look like a normal kid."
"It's fine. In the future, don't hold back when you encounter situations like this. Although the hotel is in the service industry, we still need to maintain our bottom line."
Faye knew Catherine was comforting her and felt deeply moved!
Several hearty bursts of laughter came from the hotel entrance.
A white-haired old woman hugged Catherine and spun her around several times. "Catherine, long time no see, I've missed you so much!
"Ms. Ruth, be careful with your health."
"No problem. After taking the medicine you prescribed, I can live another fifty years!"
Behind them, Oscar's cold snort sounded: "Another fifty years and you'd be a hundred and twenty years old. You'd be an old monster."
"Shut your stinking mouth! I'm talking to Catherine, mind your own business! No respect for elders at all."
The woman hugging Catherine was a key member of the central department who held many classified secrets, as well as a founding member of Galactic Aurora Collective.
She was also Natalia Ruth, the owner of an internationally renowned luxury brand!
