Chapter 383 Identity Exposed

Chapter 383 Identity Exposed

"Marriage? What's something you absolutely must get married to do?"

Emma sighed.

"The old man in the family is dying and wants to cause me some trouble before he goes, while also helping the Kate family move up a level."

"Marriage is just a bargaining chip to them. Now it's whoever can bring back the best marriage partner that gets the inheritance."

Philip said with disdain, "Just for that bit of inheritance?"

"Yeah, just four billion dollars."

Philip said in surprise, "The Kate family has that much money? That must include all their assets, right?"

Emma shrugged.

"Exactly. Whoever has the better marriage bargaining chip gets everything from the Kate family."

Emma was a bit angry and threw a punch at the air in front of her.

"If there was any other way, I'd love to blow up the Kate family with a bomb and see how they get married then. I'm so pissed!"

Catherine said flatly, "Your mother won't leave with you."

Once in the car, Emma looked dejected and said with a bitter smile, "Yeah, my mom is stubborn as hell."

Catherine was familiar with the general situation of the Kate family.

All the assets were in the hands of the Kate family's older generation, and they controlled the family trust and inheritance too.

To get the inheritance, you had to be an obedient child forever.

The current head of the Kate family liked to let the children fight it out freely, and only the last one standing was qualified to inherit everything!

Emma said bitterly, "My grandfather is so shrewd. Actually, he gave me the inheritance rights, but if I can't produce a suitable husband, he'll give it to someone else."

"Best case scenario, have a kid too. A kid is impossible right now, so I'll just trick a man into marrying me."

It was nothing more than finding a suitable ally for the Kate family.

And also a way to ensure Emma would work for the Kate family for the rest of her life

Philip's mouth twitched.

"Ms. Kate, don't tell me the man you want to trick is me?"

"Smart! Since Mr. Windsor is so smart, do you want to have a baby with me?"

Philip almost choked on his own saliva!

Emma had been a notorious figure back in school.

Not for any other reason, but mainly because... she was completely shameless!

Philip had never seen a woman more ambitious than Emma.

Whether it was debate competitions or mock trials, she would do anything to win. In her eyes, there were no friends or family, only winning mattered.

Even in marathons, Emma had to come in first and stand on the podium flipping off everyone below.

"I'm the best! You men are all trash!"

Because of that comment, she caused plenty of trouble at school. Every time Philip heard about her, he was shocked!

She was just too wild.

Getting involved with Emma now would be worse than death!

Catherine understood that Emma had her eye on Philip simply because he was from the Windsor family.

If she could marry into the Windsor family, it would perfectly meet the Kate family's requirements.

But Catherine wouldn't allow Philip to do something he didn't want to do.

"Stay at my place for a few days first. We'll figure out the rest later. If you must get married, I can't help with that, but the Windsor family has other relatives with children. If you're willing, we can arrange some blind dates."

Emma was quite willing.

"For now, just spreading a rumor is enough. As long as I live with you at the Windsor Villa and word gets out, that'll be enough!"

.

The Windsor Mansion.

Aurora looked at Gabriella sitting in the dining room with a beaming smile.

She'd heard Charles was on a date with his girlfriend and quickly told him to bring her home!

Aurora appeared calm on the surface, but she was actually most worried about Charles's marriage.

Gabriella felt a bit uneasy. She didn't know how she'd ended up following Charles home.

Charles glanced at the restaurant that was still open and said without changing expression, "The restaurant isn't open anymore. Let's eat somewhere else."

Gabriella was a bit confused—why wasn't the restaurant open?

Who knew Charles would bring her to the Windsor Villa!

Charles reminded, "Mom, I haven't eaten yet."

"Like I care! Gabriella dear, have you eaten? Would you like some food?"

Gabriella had wanted to say she'd already eaten, but remembering Charles hadn't eaten all day, she changed her mind.

"No, thank you Mrs. Windsor."

Just as the food was being served, a voice came from the front door.

"Mrs. Windsor, I want to eat too!"

"Sure, there's plenty for everyone."

Charles's gaze swept over Philip following behind and he raised an eyebrow, "Looks like Ms. Kate chose Philip?"

Emma shook her head, putting her arm around Catherine's waist like a cuddly cat.

"Of course not, I chose Ms. Windsor. If I'd known Ms. Windsor was here, I wouldn't have gone looking for you men."

Catherine said helplessly, "Didn't you say you have to get married to get the inheritance?"

The implication being that Catherine might not actually be of much help.

Catherine could help with other things, but when it came to marriage, there really wasn't much she could do.

Emma picked up her pasta and started eating heartily.

"Whatever, I'll take it one step at a time. Maybe my grandfather will die before I find someone! Besides, if I can't find someone to marry, I can at least stop other people from getting married!"

From now on, she was going to be a ruthless executioner.

Any of the Kate family's younger generation who had marriage prospects with wealthy families, she was going to ruin their engagements!

Philip felt a headache coming on.

"That's so wrong!"

"Being wrong is better than being broke."

Rolling up her sleeves to eat her pasta, Emma suddenly remembered she had a large tattoo on her arm that the elders might not appreciate. She smiled awkwardly and pulled her sleeve back down, looking a bit embarrassed.

Aurora comforted her, "It's fine, tattoos are good. If something happens and your mom has to identify your body, she'll recognize you right away."

Emma was speechless.

Thanks, what an awkward way to comfort someone.

But she had to admit it was pretty effective.

Philip's gaze fell on Gabriella sitting next to Charles.

"Gabriella, how did you end up with Charles?"

Emma met Gabriella's somewhat curious gaze and immediately started explaining.

"Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not interested in other people's men! I'm not a homewrecker!"

Gabriella quickly shook her head.

"No, that's not what I meant... I meant to say, your tattoo is really beautiful."

Emma loved people with such good taste!

She simply took off her jacket to show off the large tattoo on her arm—a female warrior wielding weapons, battling demons in ukiyo-e style.

"Beautiful, right? Ms. Windsor did it herself!"

Philip said in surprise, "You mean Catherine drew that tattoo?"

Philip remembered that Quinn had previously been famous for ukiyo-e style work!

So, he carefully asked, "Catherine, do you know Quinn?"

Emma said puzzled, "How could she not know? Ms. Windsor is..."
