Chapter 13 The Windsor Family's Daughter Is Not Good Enough for You
Lila was immediately sent to the hospital.
Gavin put away his examination equipment and turned to Esme, who was waiting beside him: "Nothing serious. Mrs. Windsor's just having her old problem again. A few days of rest and she'll be fine."
Hearing Gavin say she was okay, Lila slowly opened her eyes.
Faking illness was her old trick. She didn't believe that once Bethany found out, she wouldn't bring her sons over to apologize. Then she could take the opportunity to make Esme return to the Windsor family and humiliate Catherine properly.
Seeing Gavin, Esme was so excited she could barely speak!

Too bad the Windsor family members were all geniuses. He had been hoping to take on a student like George.

"Mr. Windsor's health is pretty good. Just get more exercise."
Gavin smiled at Marcus lying in bed.
"I'm getting old. When Catherine comes later, I'll have her take me out for some sun."
At the mention of Catherine, Marcus's face filled with a kind and gentle smile.
Gavin walked out the door and ran into Alexander, who had come to see Felix.
"Mr. Davis, how is my grandfather's health?"
Gavin handed over a test report: "All indicators are normal, just slightly high blood pressure. Need to control his diet."
Alexander took the sheet and looked it over carefully. "Thanks. I've finished investigating that prescription matter. Could you come with me for a moment?"
The prescription incident had been weighing heavily on Gavin's mind.
After all, the patients here were all high-profile figures. There couldn't be the slightest mistake.
Let alone causing a patient's death. Gavin quickly followed Alexander: "I have some excellent tea in my office. Please come and try it."
In the office, the room filled with tea fragrance.
"That incident was related to the dark web assassin organization Phantom Crew. They worked with someone inside the hospital to switch your prescription. The people involved have been caught."
Gavin said in surprise: "Foreign forces?"
Alexander nodded and took a sip of tea. "The people recovering in the hospital have unusual identities. Quite a few foreign forces are watching them. The previous attack on Marcus was also their doing."
Gavin's forehead broke out in cold sweat. "I understand. Thank you. I heard you and Ms. Windsor still have a marriage arrangement?"
Alexander looked up and smiled: "You're not one for gossip. Why bring this up?"
Gavin hesitated for a moment. In his mind appeared Esme's face—beautiful but utterly ordinary and lacking depth, especially those eyes full of self-interest, which made him thoroughly uncomfortable.
"If you trust me, this Ms. Windsor is not a good match."
For someone like Alexander, the woman by his side should complement him perfectly. That Esme didn't seem worthy of Alexander at all.
Alexander was somewhat surprised. He held his cup and smiled warmly, saying nothing more.
Night fell, thick darkness covering the city's corners.
A blade unsheathed, pressed against the assassin's vulnerable throat.
Catherine said coldly: "Where is the director of Angel's Haven Orphanage?"
The assassin's eyes filled with shock. How did she know they had taken the orphanage director?
"Blackfire, you think you can control everything? Your organization will be replaced by our Phantom Crew sooner or later!"
The dark web's three major assassin organizations—Faceless Ones, Shadow Syndicate, Phantom Crew—were rivals yet balanced each other.
The assassin fell to the ground. Catherine rubbed her wrist, turned, and walked into a nearby underground fighting arena.
"Kill him!"
"Go! Kill that guy in front of you who doesn't know his place!"
Shouts shook the sky. In the octagon cage on stage, the fighter's fists attacked every vital point of his opponent.
The arena owner bowed before Catherine: "Boss, someone specifically requested you to fight. They're offering sixty million dollars."
Catherine shook her head: "Go to the lounge. I'm not going on stage today."
"Yes, please follow me."
Inside the underground fighting arena was Imperia City's largest information trading market. Information was sold through auctions, going to the highest bidder.
Catherine put on a mask and sat in the VIP section, watching the market staff introducing information on stage.
"This piece of information, about international organizations' clues for cracking down on the dark web, starting bid fifty thousand dollars."
International organizations conducted dark web crackdowns every year. Arms dealers, smugglers, and assassin organizations were all prominent names on the list.
Catherine wasn't interested in this information.
If it could be cracked down on so easily, Faceless Ones would have ceased to exist long ago.
Finally, this information sold for sixty thousand dollars.
"Next piece of information, about Vinehill Hospital from eighteen years ago, starting bid one million dollars."
The whole venue erupted!
"What information is worth one million dollars? Last time the identity information of a criminal organization leader only sold for five hundred thousand dollars."
