Chapter 118 Sign the Divorce Agreement
Neil looked up at the helicopter in the sky, completely shocked.
A sports car that could transform into an aircraft!
What kind of high-tech was this!
The Brown family rushed over and finally appeared at the entrance of Cloudscape Villa.
"Neil, didn't you say Catherine came back? Where is she?"
Neil pointed at the helicopter in the sky. "You gonna chase after that?"
That was a helicopter! What were they supposed to chase it with?
They had been counting on getting Catherine to agree to marry Brent so Oliver would pay off all of Brent's gambling debts!
Now she was gone just like that. Where were they supposed to find her!
"Neil, do you know who bought this house? How could Catherine still come back to live here after it was sold?"
Neil smiled and lit a cigarette.
"Of course Catherine's family bought the house for her. From now on, this house belongs to Catherine. You guys can forget about it."
This house actually belonged to Catherine?
The Brown family was stunned.
"Didn't Oliver say Catherine's family were poor people raising chickens in Tranquil County? How do they have so much money to buy her a house?"
"Oliver must have lied to us. Catherine's family definitely isn't poor! Otherwise, how could they afford a helicopter? I think the marriage between her and Brent could work!"
If Catherine's family was really wealthy, not only could Brent's gambling debts be paid off, but the Brown family's future prosperity would be guaranteed!
With this thought, the Brown family left happily.
Neil watched them leave and quietly called Charles.
Back when Cloudscape Villa was being renovated, Charles had secretly left his phone number, telling Neil to contact him if needed.
When Charles received Neil's call, he was secretly watching the surveillance footage.
Fortunately, Alexander hadn't done anything inappropriate and was taking care of Catherine. When eating, he knew to arrange things according to Catherine's preferences first, and his movements looked natural—clearly he'd done this plenty of times before.
"Mr. Windsor, the Brown family seems to be scheming about Catherine. They want Catherine to marry that gambling addict from the Brown family."
"What? They think they're worthy of Catherine? Got it!"
Charles hung up and continued watching the video.
When he saw Catherine upset about past events, Charles felt a dull ache in his heart, wishing he could tear apart everyone who had treated Catherine badly!
At least Alexander knew how to comfort Catherine, which made him seem somewhat more acceptable for now.
Philip walked in from outside.
"Charles, the Johnson family and the Brown family want to pay to settle things privately. What do you think?"
"Ten million dollars, not a cent less. Otherwise, they go to jail."
Charles wasn't going to go easy on them.
Ten million dollars would be enough to ruin both families now. They'd probably need to sell some properties to come up with that amount.
"Why not just lock them up for a few days?"
"No need. They'd just get medical parole and lie comfortably in a hospital. Let them come out to see doctors."
Oliver and Steven would have spent all their money settling the jail sentence, so getting money for medical treatment wouldn't be so easy.
Among the Windsor family children, Charles, as the eldest brother, appeared the most harmless but was actually the most calculating!
Meanwhile.
The helicopter landed on the lawn at Bright Heal Hospital, creating a gust of wind. After gliding, it transformed back into a sports car and drove into the underground parking garage.
Alexander took gifts from the trunk and walked to Catherine's side.
"For Marcus and Felix. Consider them get-well gifts."
Catherine glanced at him. "When did you prepare these?"
"I'd already planned to take you back home, and I predicted our grandfathers wouldn't be happy about it. Preparing some gifts to smooth things over is appropriate."
As soon as they entered the hospital room, Marcus immediately sat back down, as if he hadn't just been craning his neck waiting for them.
"What took you so long?"
"We went to pay respects to my grandmother yesterday."
Marcus nodded and sighed.
"That's the right thing to do. Next time when I'm better, I'll go with you. She's a benefactor to our entire Windsor family. We should thank her properly."
Everyone in the Windsor family didn't look down on Elodie at all. Instead, they were all grateful that she had raised Catherine like a precious treasure.
Alexander handed the prepared gifts to Marcus and Felix.
"Catherine and I specially bought these for you. Congratulations on being discharged."
Marcus and Felix's faces lit up with joy.
"Catherine is so thoughtful. Let me see what you bought."
Catherine didn't know what Alexander had prepared either. Opening the box, she found Quinn's new autumn collection scarves and hats.
She rarely made clothes by hand, but this scarf and hat happened to be made from Galactic Aurora Collective's newly developed fabric. To test its softness and comfort, Catherine had made these items.
She hadn't expected Alexander to buy them all and split them into two gifts.
Felix immediately put on the hat, smiling. "Does it look good?"
Not to be outdone, Marcus wrapped the scarf around himself. "Catherine, do I look handsome?"
"It looks good, very handsome. The fabric for this scarf and hat was developed by Juniper's lab. It's not even on the market yet."
Juniper's lab collaborated with Galactic Aurora Collective. The fabric originated from Juniper's chickens, and Galactic Aurora Collective processed it into its current form.
"Developed by Juniper? She truly is our Windsor family's granddaughter—so smart and capable!"
Felix came over. "Does Juniper have a boyfriend? We have other grandsons in our family. Want to let Juniper pick one?"
"Juniper says she'll only love scientific research in this lifetime. With your family's kids' IQ levels, is anyone worthy of Juniper?"
Felix wasn't happy about that.
"What's wrong with our kids' IQs? Alexander's second uncle graduated with a PhD at twenty and is even Juniper's lab supervisor!"
"But he's fifty years old."
Catherine looked helpless. Judging by their energy levels, Marcus and Felix were probably doing just fine.
Alexander quietly took her hand. "Let them argue. They'll have plenty of time to argue in the future."
Felix wanted to live in Sunlit Mansion at Starry Residence so he could see Catherine every day. Marcus also wanted to see Catherine daily, so he decided to live in Moonlight Mansion. After being discharged, Marcus and Felix would still be neighbors.
Andrew peeked in from outside. "Mr. Marcus Windsor, Mrs. Lila Windsor says she wants to see you."
Marcus snorted coldly.
"Not seeing her! Help me take the divorce papers to her and have her sign them and send them back."
"Yes!"
Catherine and Alexander left Bright Heal Hospital together with Marcus and Felix.
Lila was still waiting for Marcus in her hospital room, but all she received was a divorce agreement—one that was already stamped and sealed!
This wasn't a divorce agreement; it was a divorce notice!
"I don't agree!"
Lila couldn't believe what she was seeing. How could Marcus divorce her?
"How can Marcus be so heartless? He must be having an affair with some shameless woman!"
Andrew looked at Lila, also feeling awkward.
"I've delivered what Mr. Windsor arranged. Please sign it!"
Lila was furious. Looking at the divorce papers and property division agreement in her hands, she slumped onto the bed.
If she really signed, she would have no connection to the Windsor family anymore!
