Chapter 252

Chapter 252

"Good."

Victoria withdrew the metal rod and stopped looking at the man slumped on the ground.

She took out her phone and calmly called the police first, clearly and briefly explaining the location and situation.

Then she looked at the two men who had completely lost their ability to resist, with only fear left in their eyes, her voice like a judge pronouncing sentence, "The police will be here soon. If you want to reduce your sentence, once you're inside, tell the police everything, every single detail, about how Veda contacted you, how she paid the deposit, and how she ordered you to attack."

"If you hide anything..." Victoria paused, her gaze sweeping over the two metal rods on the ground, "you know the consequences."

The two men had already been scared out of their wits by Victoria's terrifying skills and cold presence. They didn't dare disobey in the slightest and nodded frantically, "We'll talk! We'll tell everything honestly! We won't dare hide anything! Absolutely not!"

Top floor of the Garcia Group, CEO's office.

After handling several urgent documents, Alexander raised his hand to check his watch, his brow furrowing slightly.

It was almost 10 AM. Given Victoria's habits and how much she valued the Starlight Project, she should have arrived long ago.

Besides, she hated being late.

Alexander stood up, deciding to personally check on the Starlight Project Team.

Arriving at the project team located in the building's core security area, he found everyone busy, with researchers focused on their work, but that cold and beautiful figure was nowhere to be seen.

Alexander's heart sank slightly.

He immediately took out his phone and called Victoria's number.

After a few rings, the call connected, and Victoria's calm voice came through, "What's wrong?"

"Victoria, where are you? Haven't you gotten to the office yet?"

Alexander's tone carried a hint of barely noticeable concern.

On the other end, Victoria's voice paused, as if confirming her surroundings, then said, "Something happened on the way. I'm at the police station now."

The police station?

Those words struck like thunder in Alexander's ears!

His fingers gripping the phone tightened sharply, his heart instantly seized by enormous panic! Something happened on the way? At the police station? Was she hurt?

"How are you? Are you hurt? Which police station? I'm coming right now!"

Alexander's voice immediately tensed up, filled with undeniable urgency and worry, not even taking time to ask what specifically happened.

"I'm fine, not even a scratch."

Victoria's voice remained steady, as if discussing something trivial that had nothing to do with her. "At the West District branch."

"Stay right there, wait for me!"

After saying this, Alexander immediately hung up, not even taking time to brief his secretary. He grabbed his car keys and strode out of the office with long steps, his figure like a gust of wind, heading straight for the elevator.

While walking quickly, he contacted his assistant through his Bluetooth earpiece, coldly ordering them to immediately pull surveillance footage from the route between the Gonzalez family residence and the Garcia Group, especially the West District section, while also having the best legal team on standby.

Sitting in the driver's seat, starting the engine, the high-performance sports car shot out of the underground garage like an arrow, merging into traffic and speeding toward the West District branch at maximum speed.

Alexander's face was terrifyingly dark, those deep eyes churning with towering rage and bone-deep worry.

Whoever it was, anyone who dared touch the person Alexander cared about would pay a heavy price!

Alexander drove at breakneck speed all the way, running several yellow lights, reaching the West District branch as fast as possible.

He pushed the car door open forcefully, his long legs striding out, practically running into the police station lobby. The cold aura and imposing presence radiating from him made everyone in the lobby instinctively turn to look.

"Where's Victoria?" He grabbed a passing officer, his voice tight with undeniable authority.

The officer was startled by him and pointed inside, "In the interrogation room over there, giving a statement."

Alexander immediately released him and strode toward the interrogation room.

Just as he reached the door, he saw Victoria walking out. She looked calm, and aside from a barely noticeable dishevelment in her hair, she appeared fine, looking down at her phone as if checking the time.

"Victoria!"

Alexander stepped forward and pulled her tightly into his arms, with such force as if trying to merge her into his bones and blood.

God knows how many terrible scenarios he'd imagined on the way over, each one cutting his heart like a knife.

Only now, truly feeling Victoria's warm body temperature and steady heartbeat, did Alexander's heart—which had been in his throat—finally drop back down. But what surged up immediately after was overwhelming fear and rage.

"I'm fine."

Victoria was being held so tightly she could barely breathe, but she could clearly feel his body trembling slightly and that sense of relief as if recovering something lost.

She gently patted his back, her voice still calm. "Just two low-level nobodies. Already dealt with."

Alexander loosened his hold slightly, cupping her face with both hands, his deep eyes carefully examining her, confirming that not even a single hair on her head was harmed. Only then did he completely relax, but his expression became even more coldly terrifying.

He asked in a deep voice, "What exactly happened? The police only said on the phone that you were attacked."

Victoria briefly recounted what happened, including the truck that came charging out, the two men with metal rods, and the mastermind they revealed, Veda.

"Veda!"

Alexander ground out the name through clenched teeth, his eyes as dark as the sky before a storm, the chill emanating from him almost freezing the surrounding air.

He hadn't expected that jumping clown would have such nerve, to hire someone to kill! And the target was Victoria! If Victoria hadn't been so capable herself, he didn't dare imagine the consequences!

"She's asking for death!"

Alexander's voice was filled with undisguised killing intent.

Victoria looked at him getting angry on her behalf, feeling warmth in her heart, but her eyes remained calm, "The police have already gone to the Gonzalez Villa to bring her in. It shouldn't be long before she's brought here."

Just then, Victoria's phone rang. It was Thalia calling.

Victoria answered, and Thalia's cheerful voice came through, "Victoria, I've picked a restaurant. I'll send you the address on WhatsApp. Let's meet for lunch..."

"Thalia," Victoria interrupted her, her tone normal, "I probably can't make it for lunch. I'm at the police station right now."

"What? The police station?"

Thalia's voice instantly shot up, filled with shock and tension. "Why are you at the police station? What happened? Are you okay?"

Through the phone, Victoria could vaguely hear Liam's equally surprised voice asking nearby, "Victoria's at the police station? What's going on?"

Victoria had to briefly explain again over the phone about Veda hiring people to attack her.

"Veda? That bitch! How dare she?"

After hearing this, Thalia immediately cursed in anger, her voice urgent and furious. "Is she crazy? Failed at plagiarism so now she wants to kill someone? How can there be such a vicious woman in this world! Victoria, wait there! I'm coming right now! I want to see how Veda dares to be so lawless!"
