Chapter Twenty-Eight

Ella's POV:

I woke up in my crib alone, I began to whine right away, why am I in the crib? Where's Hunter, he's my brother now, I know I was jealous first, but knowing he'll be my brother, well I don't mind having him as a brother. I started to whine waiting for someone to come grab me, I got annoyed and attempted to climb out of the crib, I will not be stuck in here all day.

I moved my legs over the crib trying to jump out of the crib but it's too high, after few more trials, one of my legs did make it over the railing, but my other was stuck now.

"Ahhh, Mama help!" I scream. This was scarry. I was crying now. I wanted to get back inside the crib, but I couldn't pull myself out or in. I was stuck in the middle. Mommy came inside the room running, she looked at me and shook her head before pulling me out of the stupid crib.

She placed me on the changing table shaking her head at me, what I wanted out why does she look mad, she got me into a clean diaper and into my clothes of the day. I tried to run away from the changing table, I wanted to go and find Hunter my new brother, but Mommy wouldn't allow me to pass or go.

"Settle, I'm not done with you," she says in a firm voice, but I still managed to get off the changing table and into the floor.

I was about to run away, but she caught me again, taking me by the waist and lifting me up to the changing table again. I pouted and tried to get away, but it was no use. Instead, she slapped my thighs. I cried out at the hit. She gave me another glare before styling my hair. I was whining and ready to leave, until she finally slipped shoes on me and let me go. I took off, not wanting to be carried around, and went on the search for Hunter.

I went to Mommy and Daddy room first, but I only found Daddy there, he was getting dressed, he smiled when he saw me but Hunter wasn't here well that means at least he didn't sleep with them last night.

"Need anything little one?" Daddy asks, but I shake my head no, I wanted Hunter, I went and kept searching for him.

Next was still searching in the upper floor but I couldn't find him, where is he, I felt someone lift me from behind and I began to whine not wanting to be carried I need to find my brother. Daddy, who was holding me, just chuckled and still carried me around. We didn't go downstairs like I was expecting him to take me. Instead he took me to a closed door next to theirs.

He got in and we saw Hunter there, I jumped down and ran toward him giving him a hug, he hugged me back, well he stumbled few steps trying to hug me back but it still worked for me. I wanted him to carry me but he clearly couldn't do it since he looked at Daddy for help, I didn't want to let Hunter down but still Daddy got me to let him go.

He held a hand for Hunter and we both went down for breakfast, I was strapped in against my will, Hunter sat next to me and I tried to hold his hand. He gave me his hand and smiled, I smiled back at him, Daddy and Mommy got busy with breakfast.

"Hunter you my brother now?" I ask him happily and excited about it.

"I don't know, Ella," he says, making me frown.

"Why not? Me be good sis. I share cookies," I tell him with a pout.

"Ella, I don't know if I want this or not," he says, and I begin to cry. I was sobbing loudly getting Mommy and Daddy's attention back toward us.

"Ella what's wrong what happened?" Mommy asks worried.

"Hunter no wanna be my brother," I say sobbing.

"I didn't—Ella!" he says. Mama just shushed us both before taking a seat on the table between us.

"Ella, we need to give Hunter some time to decide if he wants to be a part of our family. Hunter as you can see, Ella and us, we're all extremely excited to have you here with us," Mama says and I nod. We want him here with us.

"I don't know. Yesterday was good, and I really enjoyed it," Hunter says, looking down. Oh, my brother is shy.

"We want you Hunter, stay with us!" I say excited, he looks at me with a smile and just shrug.

"We really do want you here but no pressure little one, maybe try staying with us for the weekend," Daddy suggests, coming in the conversation and nodding to me.

"Okay," Hunter replies, well that's good enough for me for now.
