Chapter 10

Chapter 10
I had dealt with Elias to a certain extent and knew him a bit, knew what he was capable of, and while I feared him, I didn't feel too uncomfortable with him. But that wasn't the case for Lucien. The little I had seen of him was brief and brutal, unforgiving and unreasonable. So that when be barged into the room, I felt a wave of fear spread through all of my body. I tried to turn back, to see him, but Elias held my head to his groin. The sudden movement made my teeth scrape his flesh and again he hissed.

"Bitch, keep doing your job!" He said harshly, holding my head really tight. "And like I said no teeth."

He didn't look fazed, didn't look like his brother's presence disturbed him, and even though I was filled with terror and even shame, because I had never been naked before Lucien, Elias seemed pretty much at ease. I kept on sucking.

"As you can see, brother, I'm engaged!" Elias said. "State your business. No. Leave. Whatever it is can wait. I'm fucking busy."

I heard Lucien move with such rapid speed towards us, his body whooshing through the air. My heart beat even faster, but I could not look up at him, so I kept my eyes on Elias's penis.

"You will not give me orders, Elias!" Lucien said. "Have you forgotten that I am in charge here. You will do no such thing. Besides, it's not you I want to see, but this little imp that you call your pet. Look at me now!"

The last sentence was for me, I knew. But Elias had warned me not to stop, and even though Lucien was in charge of everything in the kingdom as he had rightly stated, it was Elias who was my boss. But I knew what to do, so slowly, fearfully, I raised my head to meet Lucien's eyes. He looked at me with such rancour, such bitterness, that I thought I would melt like butter before the flames of his disposition.

"What did you do to my girl?" He asked.

It suddenly occured to me that he was talking about Janice, who had mysteriously died. The words of the woman who was fearful about what Lucien would do when he found out about Janice's death instantly came to me. But I was paralysed and couldn't say anything. I simply stared at him. Elias, frustrated and visibly irritated, had pulled back and gotten into a pair of pants.

"What does she have to do with your girl?" Elias asked his brother irritably.

"Guess what, little brother," Lucien said, his eyes fixed on me. "This little shit you call your pet spent just one night in the hostel and still managed to murder my Janice. I demanded for Janice to be brought to me this morning and I was informed that she had died. Apparently, your pet managed to kill her with some sort of sorcery."

Elias looked from me to his brother, and then to me, and back to his brother, his face contorted in disbelief. His hands were folded across his big chest and he breathed like a large animal.

"What do you mean sorcery, brother?" He asked. "My pet has no sorcery. She's as plain as they come. Look at her. She has no powers whatsoever."

But Lucien did not seem to agree and he hissed loudly.

"Well, that's what she wants you to think, the little bitch!" He thundered, and with this, he grabbed me by the throat and pulled me to my feet. "You know, they always say that of all the creatures that walk the earth, human beings are the weakest, the puniest. But I disagree. Humans are the most devious, the wiliest of us all. They look like they are weak, and they know we all think of them as weak, and they strike us, taking us unaware."

I imagined Elias rolling his eyes at his brother's long, drawn-out speech, but I could entertain no amusement as my eyes had nearly rolled back my eyes from asphyxiation. Lucien refused to loosen the grip and I was completely powerless in his hand.

"What are you even talking about, Lucien?" Elias said. "Put the fucking girl down."

"No!" Lucien said, still holding me. "Put her down? Sure, I'll put her down. But she'll pay for her evil deed. She's nothing but a dirty murderer. Besides, where am I going to get a new pet, Elias?"

And with this, he flung me off and I landed hard in the corner of the room. I thought I would black out almost immediately, but I remained conscious and looked at the two brothers talk through narrow-lidded eyes. At the back of the my throat was the taste of blood and Elias's pre-come.

"You can always find you another human girl if that's what you want," Elias said. "There's no need to fuss over Janice. She's the one girl, please."

"Ohh?" Lucien said, some humour in his voice. "Find a new girl, okay. And then we're just going to let this little murderer get away with it? Erm, I can't let that happen, Elias."

"That girl is no murderer!" Elias said. "Maybe something killed your Janice or something. Let her be."

A part of me felt gratified that Elias was defending me, but at the same time I knew he was only doing it because he didn't want Lucien to meddle in his life.

I looked at them. They stood silently. Lucien stood, contemplating, and Elias watched his brother. I wasn't afraid that I would be killed for murdering Janice. In fact, I wanted it — I was tired.

"Well, there's no other girl for me to take, so I know just what to do," Lucien said.

"And what is that?" Elias said. "If you want, I could grab some other girl for you. Easy as pie."

"Ohh, don't worry, Elias," Lucien said, and even though I couldn't see him, it was obvious he was smiling. "Instead of causing yourself such an inconvenience, you can just sit. I'll have the girl."

"What girl?" Elias said.

"Your pet," he said, and then pointed at me. "That bitch over there!"
