Chapter 72

My tears fell quickly as my eyes questioned him. I can feel the weakness in every part of my body as I try to understand the words that the woman I have fought several times from this kingdom has spoken. The girl I thought I should trust, the girl I thought wanted nothing more than to correct all of Sartoria's mistakes, The girl I considered my best friend Have I been deceived again? Has my fragile and weak heart been manipulated again? Is Zen right that he is the only one I should trust in this world? Do I have no hope of meeting vampires who won't take advantage of my weak heart?

Or am I really just a useless person who has been deceived again and again and never learned?

"Danna, you're lying, right? Right? Don't worry, if you're doing this so I don't feel bad, everything will be fine. We both know that the queen will help us." I didn't even bother to pay attention to the whispers of the tall and powerful vampires while I tried to talk to Danna, who didn't change her cold and dark expression.

'Claret, baby." I just closed my eyes when I heard Zen calling in my mind. Even the gaze of the Gazellians staring at me from their thrones was palpable. "I used you, Claret. I just used you; you were too weak, old man. You were too weak. Now you suffer."

My heart almost broke with the words that came out from Danna. Suddenly, the memories of us together came back—her sometimes smiling, her sometimes laughing, and what I thought she was doing to help turned out to be just a big lie.

"Dan..that." My lips are already itchy just speaking. Why can't I still receive it? Why do I still seem incredulous? Now that I feel differently about him?

"I won't be surprised if I don't see you again after the three designated women. I know you'll die soon." Danna couldn't finish what she was going to say when she was attacked with a lot of sharp ice.

This was the thing I hated to see the most, so I closed my eyes tightly. Even though I knew Danna hadn't been true to me, I couldn't stomach watching Zen's deadly ice hit the body I once embraced.

"Fuck! You should die!" When I opened my eyes, Zen was relentlessly punching an invisible barrier between him and Danna. Not a single piece of ice hit its body. I don't know why my heart feels like a thorn has been pulled out.

"No one can break this barrier, Snow Prince," Danna assured with a laugh.

'She's faking it! She's damn sure faking this whole thing! I will help! Let's get rid of him! ' I listen to Dione's disappearance in my mind.

I'm in! I'm damn in! I can't take this anymore! Zen can break the barrier! He'll definitely kill her this time," Louise said as I listened. I immediately looked for their position and tried to catch their eyes. I shook my head at them several times. We can't; it's damn over. Have they not noticed or even felt it? It's not her anymore.

'That's right, Dione, Louise. She deceived us; I know you can already feel her true aura. "Her heart is being swallowed by a black aura, that's right, Dione, Louise." I just bowed to what Zahara said because we were already feeling the same. I can't feel our friend Danna anymore. Danna is no longer the woman on the other side of this barrier.

'She's possessed." I listened as Louise said 'No, she's awakening. He only made the real him sleep," Serena answered seriously.

'I'm sorry, Claret," I listened to the four of them say.

The vampires were almost standing up to what was happening, but Zen still didn't stop punching the barrier as the whispers of not only the councils but all the vampires inside this vast room got louder and louder.

"Zen..." Dastan coldly called his brother.

No one seems to hear it because of its continuous punching. Danna just kept laughing, which made my prince's blood boil even more.

"What's going on, Claret?" I noticed that Lily was starting to walk towards us, full of wonder.

"She's a traitor! The appointed woman is a traitor!" A loud shout rang out from the group of councils. Here, Zen completely stopped punching, and his eyes immediately searched for the vampire who screamed.

"Traitor!" someone else shouted from above, who, if I'm not mistaken, was a high vampire of Sartorias.

"Traitor! Let's all listen to what he said! He betrayed the kingdom! The appointed woman is a traitor!" With these words, I felt the tension in this room even more.

'We're traitors too, Claret," Zahara said softly in my mind. I strongly objected to what I knew they would do. I know they'll join me here at the front to say I'm not the only 'traitor."

Despite my weakened body because of what I found out, I forced myself to secretly use my magic on the four designated women. They have been through too many bad things in their time; will I still let them experience bad things again at a time when they are no longer their responsibility?

Using my power to wrap around them one by one, it gradually absorbed the their strength to stand or even move in their position. When I did this, they were just ordinary people who couldn't move because they were so tired.

'Claret, please don't do this alone. "We'll be here together." Serena protested, seeming to feel my magic.

'This is my own era; the era of you four is over. You've done your part. I will not let my responsibility as a designated woman pass on to you at this time. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. I myself broke the connection between the five of us.

Grandpa is also arguing with his fellow council members. The vampires from different directions can't stop shouting the word 'traitor."

"Not because she was destined to be a woman would she allow this audacity! We have all heard the sins she spoke of! She spoke to the criminal! She even mentioned our good queen's name!" one of the councilors said emphatically.

I struggled to stand on my itchy knees. When I glanced at Zen, his jaw tensed, and I knew my prince was divided in this situation. On my side or his kingdom's own beliefs and policies.

'No baby... I am always on your side, no matter what. No damn half, baby, no damn half... "I'm always whole for you." Despite the discouragement brought by what Danna is showing me, my heart can't stop getting lost in the words.

The prince of the snows let go.

'Zen..'

"Why aren't you doing anything yet?! Her being a designated woman is not an excuse! What a traitor! Traitor! Don't spare her life because there are still three destined women left! Burn the traitor!" everyone almost screamed when the vampire stopped speaking because of a thin but very sharp ice that hit his neck and cut off his head.

Zen immediately lost his position because he was behind the lifeless body that was starting to fall from its severed head.

"One wrong word to my goddess, and you will be second in this dare." Zen already held the vampire's head and recklessly threw it into the fire that surrounded Danna and me.

"Zen! What the hell is happening? Claret?" Lily asked again, confused. Dastan remained seated next to Rosemary while the rest of the Gazellians frowned at what was happening.

"Your majesty! Are you going to side with your prince brother again? It's not right for him to side with a traitor!" Once again, someone would have hit the ice in the council and spoken when it broke because of Caleb's strong blow to it.

"Enough with the killings, Zen," Caleb said coldly to Zen with clenched fists. This is what Zen is trying to avoid happening against his own brothers because of me.

But My eyes widened when I saw four vampires from different directions quickly picking up the scattered embers of fire, and both of them had red eyes at me. In their quick action, they rushed in my direction at the same time.

"Kill the traitor!" My hands were ready to protect myself as they simultaneously hit them with large cracks of ice that ran down their bodies.

I didn't try to look at them to see if there was still life in them. When Zen said it, I knew he would. They're all dead.

"Who's next? Who wants to be the sixth?" Zen shouted loudly in front of everyone.

"Zen." He didn't look at me, and he kept facing all the vampires; now he was opposite.

"You are delirious, dear prince," a councilwoman said bravely.

"Maybe? Didn't the whole kingdom know about this for a long time? And I'll be even more crazy if someone tries to approach or speak violently to my goddess." I was just dumbfounded behind Zen. He is doing all this because of me. Zen..

"Your highness's brother's beliefs are too twisted," the councilwoman said again.

When I looked back at Dastan, he also started coming towards me and Zen. while Danna keeps laughing and talking to herself as everyone goes crazy.

/

"There is no traitor," Dastan said seriously. Almost all of the vampires inside this room except the Gazellians had red eyes for not agreeing with what their majesty said.

"Kill her! She is already under the power of the criminal, and he's the one it's using to turn the Gazellians around!" My whole body went cold when I saw that all the vampires were about to rush in our direction.

Even though I knew the Gazellians were strong, I knew they couldn't handle the number of these vampires. Surely someone will pass by to kill me completely and burn me in the fire.

And because of me, Zen is not the only one who is now fighting against their own territory. Even all his brothers. I came whole, and their family was quiet; is this all I can bring to them?

Little by little, I stepped closer to Zen, who had his back to me.

"Just give me to them, Zen." I lean my forehead against his back.

"What to give Claret? I will never be able to give you away. Claret, I will go crazy if something bad happens to you. No one can lay a damn finger on you, baby. No one else, baby.. no one else..except me. Stay behind me, baby..stay please.." I didn't wipe my tears and started hugging her back.

"Zen, I made your life complicated. I just came to torture you." It was almost a whisper.

I felt Zen loosen my arms that were tied to him.

'My life will be complicated without you, Claret. I love you with all my heart. I love you so much, beautiful goddess from the mirror.

My powers did nothing when Zen's thick ice enveloped me. And my tears almost started to flow again as I slowly felt his weakening power. Why? Why? Why is his power weakening?

What is he trying to do?

He tried to wrap solid ice all around us. The vampires who were going to rush at us couldn't catch up because of the ice blocking them.

No amount of power could do anything to the ice that Zen was creating; nothing could penetrate or even make a crack in the hard ice. As he made the ice more stable, he gradually killed the vampires near it.

I noticed that all the Gazellians were already stunned by Zen. Caleb was the only one left outside the ice who was constantly calling Zen.

I just held my chest when I felt Zen's heart beating weakly. What's this? What's this? What power does zen have? Why did I just feel this now?

"Zen! Zen! Stop that! Zen! Stop, please!" I shouted nervously. I couldn't stop hitting the ice that locked me in. Why do I feel differently about the power he uses? Why do I feel so Zen?

"Oh fuck! Not that one Zen! Not that one brother!" I heard Evan shout loudly from a distance.

"Zen!" Finn shouted too.

"Zen! Zen! Zen!" When Dastan tried to touch Zen, he quickly withdrew his hand. My eyes almost widened when I saw that his hand was frozen.

Casper quickly approached it and sprinkled it with blood from the goblet, which made it return to its original form.

"Finn! Evan!" Dastan shouted loudly to his brothers.

and my tears overflowed when I saw that Dastan, Evan, Finn, and Casper were all around the block of ice that was locking me up and that they didn't stop throwing punches just to break it. My chest is getting tighter because I can't even see a crack. I can't see anything. I can't see anything. I want to get out. I want to hug Zen again.

"It is his forbidden power that can even kill himself," Dastan said softly while punching without stopping.

"Only you can stop him, Claret."

"The vampire will not freeze to the power of the snow prince."
