Chapter 117 Alpha bloods clash!
Chapter 117
DARIUS
"You are coming with us to Angela's," Dorian announced, standing in the doorway of my room with his arms crossed.
I did not even look up from where I sat on my bed. "No."
"Yes, you are." Selene appeared beside him. "You have been locked in this room all day. You need to eat something."
"I am not hungry."
"I do not care if you are hungry or not," Dorian stepped into the room. "You are coming with us."
I finally looked up at him. "I want to be alone. I need space to think."
"You have had plenty of space to think," Selene moved to stand beside my bed. "All you have done is sit here and torture yourself over that video. It is not healthy."
"Just leave me alone."
"No." Dorian's voice was firm. "Get up. We are going to Angela's, and you are coming with us whether you like it or not."
"I said no."
"And I said yes." Dorian grabbed my phone off the nightstand before I could stop him. "In fact, I am taking this too."
I stood up quickly. "Give that back."
"No chance." He shoved it in his pocket.
"I caught you staring at the comments on that video about your father for the hundredth time this morning. You do not need to read that rubbish anymore."
"It is my phone—"
"And I am keeping it for your own good," Dorian cut me off. "Reading those comments will only make everything worse. You know that."
I clenched my fists. "You have no right—"
"I have every right as your best friend," he interrupted again. "Now get your jacket. We are leaving in five minutes."
"I am not going."
Selene sighed heavily. "Darius, please. Just come with us and have dinner. Try to take your mind off everything for an hour. That is all we are asking."
"I do not want to take my mind off it."
"Well, too bad," Dorian grabbed my jacket off the back of my chair and threw it at me. "You are coming anyway. We are not taking no for an answer."
I caught the jacket and glared at him. "You are being ridiculous."
"And you are being stubborn," Selene replied. "But we are more stubborn than you. So please, just put the jacket on and come with us before we have to physically drag you there."
I stared at both of them for a long moment. They stared back, neither of them backing down.
Finally, I gave in. "Fine. But I am only going to stop you both from nagging me."
"Whatever helps you feel better about it," Dorian grinned. "Now come on. I am starving."
I did not know if my father or mother had tried to call me since then. Part of me was grateful for the silence.
I could not deal with Richard's rage right now. And I knew my mother would be the one bearing the brunt of his anger, which made guilt twist in my stomach like a knife.
Now we sat by the window in Angela's restaurant, the three of us in uncomfortable silence.
I noticed immediately that something was off. The air felt different. Groups of students sat huddled together at their tables, whispering and looking at their phones.
And they kept looking at me.
Their eyes would dart towards our table, then back down to their screens, then up again. Some of them were not even trying to be subtle about it.
"They are staring because of the video," I muttered. "My father's video."
"Ignore them," Dorian leaned back in his chair. "They will move on to the next scandal soon enough. They always do."
Selene nodded in agreement but said nothing. She looked tired. We all did.
"I am going to order dinner," Dorian stood up. "What do you want?"
"Whatever. I do not care."
"Selene?"
"The same. Just order whatever you think is good."
Dorian walked towards the counter, leaving Selene and me alone at the table.
I turned my attention to the window, watching students pass by outside. More groups huddled together, phones out, whispering urgently to each other.
Then the door burst open with such force that it slammed against the wall.
"DARIUS!"
The name was not spoken. It was roared. The sound echoed through the entire restaurant, silencing every conversation instantly.
I turned towards the door.
Caleb stood there, chest heaving, eyes wild. He looked around the restaurant frantically, searching for something. For me.
"What the hell does he want?" Selene muttered beside me.
Caleb's gaze locked onto mine. Without hesitation, he started running towards our table.
I stood up just as he reached me. My instincts screamed that something was wrong a split second before I saw the flash of metal in his hands.
Knives.
He had brought knives.
Caleb began slashing wildly, and I stumbled backwards, trying to put distance between us.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I shouted, dodging another swing. "Why are you attacking me?"
Selene jumped up from her seat and grabbed Caleb's arm from behind, trying to restrain him. He shoved her backwards without even looking. She lost her balance and fell hard onto the floor.
"Selene!" My eyes widened. "Are you alright?"
She raised her hand, breathing hard. "I am okay. I am fine."
I did not have time to check on her properly. Caleb came at me again, and this time the blade caught my forearm. Pain flared hot and sharp. Then another slash across my other hand.
Blood dripped onto the floor.
Something snapped inside me. I launched myself at Caleb, grabbing his wrist and twisting until he dropped one of the knives.
"What is wrong with you?" I snarled in his face.
"Stop pretending!" Caleb screamed back, spittle flying. "I know it was you! I know you were the one who released that video!"
I froze. "What video? What are you talking about?"
"The sex video of my father! It is trending all over the internet right now because of you!"
"I did not release any video," I growled. "I have not even had my phone all day. Dorian took it."
"Liar!" Caleb tried to punch me, but I blocked it.
"If you want to fight over something I did not do," I let go of his wrist and stepped back, "then we might as well do it properly."
My bones began to crack and shift. I let the partial transformation take over. My hands elongated into claws. My teeth sharpened into fangs. My eyes burned gold.
Caleb mirrored the change immediately. His own wolf surging to the surface in a partial shift that made him look more beast than man.
"Darius, stop!" Dorian's voice cut through the chaos as he came running back from the counter. "Do not do this."
But Caleb did not wait. He lunged at me with a roar.
I met him head-on. We crashed together in the middle of the restaurant with bone-crushing force.
Then everything descended into absolute chaos.
A wolf suddenly appeared and attacked Dorian from the side, slamming into him and sending him sprawling across the floor.
"Shift and fight!" I snarled at him.
Dorian's eyes went wide with shock, but he had no choice. His body rippled and changed, his own wolf emerging to defend himself.
Within seconds, other wolves began shifting too. Caleb's followers. My followers.
Students who had been sitting peacefully moments ago were now transforming into their wolf forms, choosing sides, preparing for battle.
The human students screamed and scattered, running for the exits in panic.
Tables overturned, chairs crashed to the floor and glass shattered.
The fight turned brutal instantly. Pure Alpha rage consumed both Caleb and me. Our wolves wanted blood, dominance and to tear each other apart.
I tried to speak even as we fought. "I have not had my phone. Dorian took it this morning. I did not post anything."
Caleb ignored me completely. He slashed at my chest with his claws, and I barely dodged in time.
"Listen to me!" I grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the wall. "I did not release that video. Why would I? What would I gain from it?"
"Everything!" Caleb spat blood. "You want to destroy my pack. You want revenge for the fight. You blamed me for releasing that video of your father. You want Ravenna to see me as a monster."
"I do not need to destroy you to get Ravenna," I snarled back.
That was the wrong thing to say. Caleb's eyes flashed with renewed fury, and he broke free from my grip with strength I had not expected.
We crashed through a table, wood splintering beneath our combined weight. Around us, the other wolves were engaged in their own battles.
Dorian fought off two of Caleb's followers at once. Selene had shifted as well and was trying to pull wolves apart, trying to stop the fighting.
But it was too late to stop anything now. The violence had a momentum of its own.
I got on top of Caleb and landed a punch to his jaw that made his head snap to the side. "I did not post the video. Someone else did. Someone who has access to information about both our fathers."
"You are lying," Caleb growled, but there was uncertainty in his voice now.
"Think about it," I pressed. "Who would benefit from both our packs being exposed? Who would want to cause this much chaos?"
Caleb hesitated for just a second. That second was all I needed to gain the upper hand again.
But then his expression changed. Something cold and cruel settled over his features.
"It does not matter," he said quietly. "Because even if you did not post the video, I have already won."
"What are you talking about?"
Caleb smiled through the blood on his face. "She chose me."
The words hit me harder than any physical blow could have.
Rage exploded through me like a bomb going off.
Atlas roared inside my head, demanding violence, demanding that we make Caleb pay for those words.
I grabbed Caleb by the front of his shirt, lifted him off the ground with pure adrenaline-fuelled strength, and slammed him backwards into the stone fireplace with all the force I could manage.
