Chapter 115 More to come
Chapter 115
RAVENNA
By the time we got to class that morning, the video had completely exploded across the academy. It was all anyone could talk about.
Students huddled in groups in the corridors, phones out, watching and rewatching the footage. Their voices overlapped in a chaos of shock and disbelief.
"I cannot believe Alpha Richard would do something like this."
"He is supposed to be righteous. Everyone looks up to him."
"My father always told me Richard Pike was the model of what an Alpha should be."
"Clearly your father was wrong."
"Never in my life would I have believed this was Richard personality."
"He really deceived us. This is the perfect situation to the adage: Never judge a book by its cover."
I kept my head down and walked beside Samantha towards our first class. Inside, I was celebrating. Outside, I maintained a carefully neutral expression.
We were almost at the classroom door when arms wrapped around me from behind. I jumped slightly before recognising Caleb's cologne.
"Do not scare me like that," I laughed, turning in his arms.
"Sorry, could not resist." He grinned down at me.
Then suddenly, Darius appeared out of nowhere.
He grabbed Caleb by the shoulder and shoved him backwards. Caleb stumbled and hit the floor hard.
Before anyone could react, Darius was on top of him, his fist connecting with Caleb's face with a sickening crack.
"Darius, stop!" Dorian's voice cut through the chaos as he and Selene came running down the corridor.
Dorian grabbed Darius around the chest and hauled him backwards whilst Selene helped Caleb to his feet.
"You fucking released the video!" Darius roared, still trying to break free from Dorian's grip. "You have been waiting for this, looking for a way to get back at me for what happened in the fight!"
Caleb wiped blood from his split lip and actually smiled. "I did not release any damn video. But I am happy someone else did. Which means whoever it was probably has more videos showing who your father really is."
Darius lunged forward again. Dorian barely held him back.
I stepped forward, positioning myself between them. "Stop this nonsense right now."
Darius's wild eyes fixed on me. "Move away, Ravenna. I do not want to hurt you."
"If you want to get to Caleb, you are going to have to go through me first."
"Why are you doing this?" His voice cracked slightly. "Just move. Let me deal with this motherfucker."
I took a deep breath. "I am sorry. I cannot do that. Caleb is my man."
Silence fell over the corridor. Every single student within earshot stopped talking and stared at us.
Darius went completely still. "What did you just say?"
"Caleb is my boyfriend. I cannot just stand here and watch you assault him."
Caleb moved to stand beside me. "I am capable of protecting myself, Ravenna. I would not let you risk yourself for me."
He kissed my cheek gently, his eyes never leaving Darius's face.
The look on Darius's face was devastating. Pure heartbreak written across every feature. His eyes, usually so controlled and cold, were filled with pain. His hands were folded into fist and he was on the verge of controlling of his anger.
"Do you know what you have done?" He took a step closer to me and leaned forward. "You just betrayed me," he whispered.
I shrugged, forcing myself to maintain eye contact. "I do not know what issues you and Caleb have with each other but I like him. That is not going to stop me from being his woman."
Darius grinned widely. And then a howl tore from Darius's throat. The sound was not quite human. His wolf was so close to the surface that his eyes flickered gold for just a second.
"You released that video," he pointed at Caleb, his voice shaking with rage. "I know you did. And you should be ready for whatever comes with this act."
He turned and stormed away down the corridor. Students scattered out of his path.
Samantha caught my eye from where she stood near the classroom door. Her expression clearly said what have you done?
I grabbed Caleb's hand. "Come on. Let us get to class."
He followed me without protest, though I could feel the tension in his grip.
We sat down at our usual seats just as the professor walked in.
I could not concentrate on the lecture. My mind kept replaying the look on Darius's face. The way his voice had broken when he said I betrayed him.
My phone buzzed in my pocket halfway through class. I pulled it out carefully under the desk.
Asteria's name flashed on the screen.
I slipped out of the classroom, ignoring the professor's disapproving look, and answered in the corridor.
"Did you see it?" Asteria's voice was practically vibrating with excitement.
"I saw it."
"Congratulations on releasing your first piece of revenge, sister. I am so proud of you."
A sick feeling twisted in my stomach, but I pushed it down. "Thank you."
"Do not stop now. Do not back down until you destroy every single one of them. Richard, Darius, Selene, all of them."
"I know."
"Good. I will be waiting to hear about the next move."
She hung up.
I stood in the empty corridor staring at my phone. Then I made a decision.
I skipped the rest of my classes and went straight back to my room.
I opened my laptop and navigated to the rest of the files I had stolen from Caleb's computer.
There was another video. This one featuring Caleb's father, the Alpha of Silverthorn pack.
I watched it once. Twice. Three times.
Then I created another scheduled post on the Revenge account.
This video would release tomorrow morning at the same time.
