Revelation

Revelation
Ralph and Armand are still waiting for the witch's trial to start so that they can save Arabelle. She might be really scared being in the dungeon. They are both worried about her so much. Ralph wanted to bust into the dungeon to take her out of there already. While Armand tries his best to stay rational about it. They can't break the law of the past since there are consequences. That calms Ralph a little bit but he still wants to take Arabelle home soon.

The town of Merced starts looking ugly now that they are being affected by it. They need to get out of that place the moment they get Arabelle. Something bad might  continue to happen the longer they stay there. It's better to just let the past stay in the past. Even if Ralph feels comfortable in that place, he no longer belongs there. He already lived in the modern times. That's his home now even if he needs to hide from the darkness there.

“By the way, Ara said that you were looking for me. May I know why?” Armand asked while they waited.

“Yeah, I am looking for you. I just need to know if you're Arabelle's brother.” Ralph responded straight to the point.

“Yes, I am her older brother. I am the son of the dark witch who cursed her parents.” Armand told the truth.

“I'm not asking about it to judge you. I just need to know the truth.” Ralph informed him.

“Thank you, I don't think she must know the truth about me anymore. I don't want to ruin their family.” Armand said with sadness in his eyes.

“I think they deserve to know the truth. Still, it's up to you if you don't  want to tell them.” Ralph suggested.

“Maybe I'll tell them about it eventually.” Armand replied.

Ralph just nodded to let him know that he agrees with him and he's not going to say anything. It's not his secret to tell afterall. Now that he knows the truth about Armand, he's already happy about it. At least that's his reason to help Arabelle and not because he likes her romantically.  Ralph can't help but to feel silly now that he knows the truth. Although he had a hunch before that Armand is Arabelle's brother, he still can't help but to feel jealous.

Armand feels like a heavy load has been lifted from his shoulders. At least somebody already knows about the truth. It seems like a burden before because he can't tell anyone about it. Although he's not yet ready to tell Arabelle about his secret. Maybe the right time will come and he will let her know. In the meantime, they need to save her sister from getting burned. He doubts that the trial will really give justice to those women they arrested.

“Let me tell you a secret. I'm also a real witch.” Sofia whispered to her and giggled.

“Same here! Why do they want to burn us?” Arabelle asked in a confused tone.

“They are afraid of powerful women.” Sofia replied.

“It might be the reason why but burning women, that's so barbaric!” she exclaimed.

“Don't worry, I know a spell we can do so that the fire can't touch us. I'll teach you just in case.” Sofia said.

“There’s a spell for that? Teach me now!” Arabelle told her in an excited tone.

Sofia giggled again because of her reaction. She already knows a lot of spells before she got arrested. Good thing she was able to practice before it happened. The spell doesn't require anything but to befriend the fire. Arabelle is amazed at how Sofia can create fire out of nothing. She seems to know a lot of magical spells but right now, she's only interested in not getting burned. It will also be nice to escape from the dungeon before the trial.

Although Sofia knows a spell to escape, they can't just do that. The town guards will keep on looking for them and they will be thrown to the fire right away. Arabelle can't believe that she actually did that. It seems like she knows what she's doing so she decided to learn from her. She asked about why she looks hypnotized earlier. Sofia told her about the creature who did that to them. They are all hypnotized to make sure that they can't use magic.

“A creature? I guess that's the one I was hearing earlier. Good thing the protection spell works on that creature.” Arabelle told her new friend about her experience.

“They might send the creature earlier to hypnotize you. You're lucky, you were able to do the spell before it gets to you.” Sofia responded while playing with fire.

“Aren't you scared the fire will burn you?” Arabelle asked.

“The secret to befriend the fire is to play with it without fear. Once the fire smells, you will get burned.” Sofia taught her by giving her the small fire she created.

Arabelle was surprised when Sofia gave her the fire and it didn't burn her. It's amazing how she can manipulate that element. Although it seems like she's already doing the same with the fire. She tried to talk to it and it swayed on her palm as if responding to her. Sofia laughed as if she understood what the fire was trying to tell her. She tries to avoid feeling any emotions and the fire just died. That amazes her more since she was able to put it out.

Sofia told her to keep on practicing since the fire from the town center is way bigger. She needs to avoid feeling any emotions, especially fear to befriend it. Sofia created a bigger fire and they both practiced on it. She can't help but be happy to have met Sofia. If she's just alone in that cell, she will never know how to befriend fire. They need to learn how to do that. Sofia told her that all the women on the witch trial ended up getting burned at stake.

“Don't worry, I think you're ready.” Sofia assured her.

“I hope I am. Here come the guards.” Arabelle replied and got nervous when she saw the guards.
