The Veil
The burning of the witches didn't push through because of the vampire attacks. People are starting to feel scared even during the day. Although one of the women who they are about to burn was bitten. The vampire sucked her blood dry and was dead when she hit the ground. Everyone in the jury seems to doubt their judgment since one of the witches is dead. How can they burn women now to entertain the people of the town?
Lucious was able to escape fast when he bitten one of the women they thought were witches. It seems like they are just burning those women for show. He was able to check them one by one and there's no witch in that group. Everyone looks hypnotized already so that they don't complain when they tie them at stake. All he did was to take someone who’s about to die anyway. At least he felt energized from the blood of one dying woman.
“I will go out in the meantime.” Lucious told himself.
He doesn't want to be discovered there and ends up getting burned as well. Although he's not scared of those people in this town. He doesn’t plan to get out of there since he likes being in the past. When he saw that place first, he thought that he's dead already. It's hard to believe that the same place from the past occurred there. He knows that it's just a matter of time before Rafael ends up here. Although it's been a few months since he came there.
Lucious looks around before he leaves the dungeon where they keep the women. They accused any woman of being a witch just to kill them in front of the townspeople. He can't believe that of all the places to get stuck in the past, Merced happens to be the one. There's a lot of cruel people around there who made vampires out of nothing. He's one of those who just ended up getting that curse to be blood thirsty. It made creatures like him to exist.

“Where do you think Ralph went?” Armand asked Arabelle while they walked around town.
“I have no idea. Justin told me he's supposed to be looking for you.” Arabelle replied.
“Why did he want to find me?” He asked again wondering why Ralph is that eager.
“Well, I wanted to thank you for breaking the curse. Mom also wanted to thank you in person. I guess Ralph thought he needed to find you.” she responded.
“That's not a big deal. I did it because I can do the spell better than you.” he told her and laughed jokingly.
“Actually, you're right about that. I don't think I can be a real witch.” She laughed with him.
Arabelle realized that being a witch is not that easy especially if she started late. Armand seems to know everything when it comes to spells and potions. While she wanted to learn, it's hard not to have an elder to teach her. Even if she has the witch's blood, not knowing what to do is just hard. Good thing she was able to bump into Armand back in the enchanted forest. He's also the one who was able to find her while she's walking the town.
It seems like destiny keeps on making sure they will find each other. His hometown seems to be a tourist spot which makes it hard to look for anyone. Arabelle can't even call Ralph since he's not using a smartphone. How can he just leave without telling her where exactly he's going? At least Armand is with her now while they look where Ralph might go. It's hard to decide where to start looking and Armand seems to always have an idea.
“Last night, I thought someone was following me. Maybe that's Ralph but he never approached me.” Armand shared now that he realized that Ralph should be there.
“Maybe that was him but something happened. It's hard to look for someone who doesn't use a phone.” She replied to him while trying not to sound whiny.
“Yeah, it will be easy if we can call him.” Armand agrees.
“Maybe he stepped into a different dimension again.” she suggested with a serious expression.
She told Armand about what happened to her and Ralph back in the hospital. They ended up in the never ending hallway. Although they were able to be back when they opened the door again. Arabelle thinks that it might happen with Ralph again around this town. If he ended up in another dimension, they can't find him that easily. They need to be on the same dimension to see each other. Although Armand thinks it might not be the case.
There are a lot of stories about people missing around their town. One of those people who was able to go back said he went back to the past. It's a strange occurrence in their town but it ended up as an urban legend. The tourists are always the ones who ended up being stuck in the past. Although it's hard to believe that anyone can just go back in time. Maybe they just ended up there accidentally. It's like that never ending hallway.
“They all go back to the past and possibly got stuck there. Maybe Ralph walked into the past too!” Arabelle concluded based on the urban legend of this town.
“We're not exactly sure about that urban legend but we can try to go back in time by doing a ritual.” Armand suggested since he can do that as a warlock.
“Let's do that then.” she replied and agreed to his idea.
“We need to gather the stuff for the ritual first. After that, we can go back here and do it.” he informed her.
They turn around so that they can go back to Armand's house. He got all the things they needed to do the ritual so they could follow Ralph back in time. As they walked back to where Armand's house is located, everything suddenly turned black and white. They looked at each other and agreed that they no longer need to do the ritual. It seems like they have already stepped into the veil where they can go back to the past. They both look excited to explore the past.
