Potion Seller

Potion Seller
Armand was able to do his daily chores now that he lives in the house where he grew up. He still remembers what his mother always told him to do before. That made him feel annoyed at her everyday. Now that he's an adult and lives alone, he's grateful she taught him well. He can't imagine not knowing how to do simple things around the house. Good thing his mother taught her how to cook at an early age. It's the most usable skill for him right now.

When he thinks about cooking, he knows that it's not just for food. Cooking for him also means brewing his potions since he needs fire with that too. The cauldron for his potions was his mother's. He likes using it since she already prepared that. It's ready to use so he doesn't need to deal with the lengthy ritual. He's glad that he can use his mother's cauldron again now that he's home. At least he's able to use it for his potions to sell out there.

“Let's see if I have everything in here.” he told himself and counted the bottles of potions in his bag.

It's thirteen pieces which is the usual number of potions that he sells in the market. Most of them are love potions and he also added some spell jars. He was just making what his customers needed. That's what he will bring to the market to sell the next day. The spell jars are orders from his patrons. He offers customizable options to solve other people's problems. It seems to be working for them well so he was able to get good money from the potions.

Liquid love and liquid luck are his most popular creations. A lot of people buy them from the moment he arrived on the market. It seems like they already know what time he will arrive and sell his potions. Armand is happy to help them as long as they pay. His mother told him before not to accept any form of payment for magic. That made them live in poverty as he grew up. He doesn't share the same principle that's why he's selling his potions.

“This is a good spot.” he told himself and started taking out his potions to display for potential customers.

Armand never went for the same spot from the market. He believes that he should just keep on moving while looking for the perfect spot. His customers will always find him if they really want to buy the potion. Wherever he chooses to stay, those people will always get to him. He's enjoying what he does now more than before. Imagine making thousands in just one day. They could have been rich if his mother accepted payments for her spells before.

Even if she ended up dead because of the curse she casted, he wanted to forgive her. He just finds it hard to do when everything seems to remind him of what could have been. She's a great teacher for him but as a mother, he can't say the same. Maybe that's why his father still chooses to stay with his wife. Arabelle's mom is really maternal and thinks about her kids first. If she didn't take the burden of that curse before, it could have been better.

“Excuse me, sir. I ordered a spell jar for you yesterday. “ A young woman approached him but spoke quietly.

“Oh, the spell jar for a good career. Here it is.” Armand takes   the jar from his bag and gives it to her.

“I'll get that promotion now for sure, thanks!” she excitedly said and gave him a wad of cash.

“You can get anything you wish for. Just go back for renewal after three months.” he informed her.

The young woman nodded and smiled from ear to ear while looking at the spell jar. She immediately walks away and Armand counted his cash. Ten thousand for just one spell jar. Not bad! He still has thirteen potions and four spell jars to sell. It seems like there are a lot of desperate people these days. Before he can even put the cash inside his pocket, people came flooding for his potions. He smiled knowing that he would sell everything easily.

In just under an hour, his potions and spell jars are sold out. The late comers ordered from him for tomorrow instead. He gladly accepts all orders since he still has a lot of potions at home. Now that his business is booming, he might able to sell everything. He will go back to the enchanted forest after that. As much as he wants to count all his money, he stopped himself. He don't want it stolen just because he can't wait to go home before counting it.

“Okay, that's it for now. Please come back tomorrow.” he announces before packing up for the day.

Ralph didn't know why his senses brought him to that marketplace. Then he got curious when he saw a huge crowd of people on one side. That's when he finally sees Armand in the middle of the crowd. He's selling potions to them and seems to be earning a lot. Instead of approaching him right away, he decided to observe him first. After traveling for eight hours, he wants to look around the place first. He's a tourist here after all.

It's almost five in the afternoon when he arrived and found Armand from the market. He decided to follow him home  first to know where he lives. Once he already knows where to find him again, he will check out the place. It looks historical with old structures around. As he follows Armand, he can see the Spanish style houses around. He can't help but remember the past when he was still human. Everything looks like how it was before.

“As if I went back in time!” he whispered to himself and saw Armand entering one of the houses nearby.
