Sacrifices
The vampire and werewolf are together so that they can help the girl. Armand can't help but also feel concerned with Arabelle the moment he met her. It seems that she has this charm that will make you want to help her with anything she needs. At least he's not the only one who is concerned about that new witch. It seems like she didn't know much about witchcraft either. Good thing he met her cause if not, her mom's curse might just bounce back.
Spells are only good for hexes according to his mother. When she was still alive, she taught him so many spells. Although it seems that potions is his specialty so he focused more on it. His mother is a powerful witch but one of the curses she casted killed her. That's why he didn't want to curse anyone. He's afraid he will have the same ending as his mother. The enchanted forest shields him from black magic. It's good that he found that place.
“What's in the Invisible City other than golden buildings? I'm catching Arabelle's scent going to the city.” Justin asked since he's wondering.
“The fairy prince's palace is located there. Maybe that's where he brought her.” Armand replied.
“He might be planning to hold the wedding there. We need to hurry.” Ralph suggested with a worried tone.
“Don't worry, they need to prepare for the ceremony before the wedding occurs.” Armand informed them.
Although the warlock said that, the three of them can't help but to still worry. The moment Arabelle got married to the fairy prince, it will erase all her memories. She will never remember her past anymore. It means that she will also forget her family and everyone she met. Ralph's worried that she will no longer remember her past life either. Her mom might succumb to the curse and her sister will be left alone. That should never happen.
Justin is also worried about Arabelle even if he decides that she's not going to pursue him anymore. She's still supposed to become his mate before. If she ends up marrying that fairy, she will forget everything. It will be so sad especially for Ralph. He learns to be concerned about the vampire and treat him as his friend. After giving up Arabelle, he was expecting for them to have a happy ending. How can that happen now with the fairy around?
“We've reached the boundary between the enchanted forest and the Invisible City.” Armand informed them.
“Wow, the city is really made of gold!” Ralph exclaimed since it's the first time he saw the city.
“I told you, it's made of gold.” Justin replied.
It should be called the city of gold since everything is made of gold. Whenever the sun shines down on the city, it glitters as if the city is not there. Maybe that's why they called it the Invisible City. It seems to disappear whenever the gold is being touched by the sunlight. They should stop being mesmerized by the city and rescue Arabelle already. The palace seems to suddenly materialize in front of them. They walk towards it immediately.
The moment they reached the palace grounds, a lot of fairies greeted them. How can they look for Arabelle with all those fairies around them? Ralph decided to take advantage of the situation and slip away. He needs to leave Justin and Armand for now. They are the distraction he needs to get inside the palace. Good thing he can just slip without getting noticed. It's one of the perks of being a vampire. He can disappear in front of everyone.
“Arabelle…” Ralph exclaimed quietly the moment he saw her sitting on the throne.
She has a distant look in her eyes as if she's not seeing anyone. Good thing she's sitting alone on that throne. Maybe the fairy prince left her here to deal with the wedding. Ralph looks around to check if there's someone coming before he rescues Arabelle. When he didn't see anyone, he immediately walked towards her. She still didn't react even if he's already close. He can tell that she's been hypnotized from the look on her eyes.
“Arabelle, let's get out of here!” he said and grabbed her wrist ready to just drag her.
“I have to wait for Enrico.” she replied in a robotic tone.
“No need. We're going home.” Ralph said and pulled her.
“I have to wait for Enrico.” she repeated and tried to escape from his hand.
“Darn, I can't hypnotize a hypnotized person!” Ralph doesn't know what to do anymore.
He wants to just drag her away from the throne but she's resisting. The fairy's magic seems powerful enough that it can fully control her. She didn't even recognize his face when he came near her. How can he take her away from here without forcing her? They need to leave as soon as possible before the fairy prince gets back. Although he can fight, he doesn't want to deal with that if possible. It will mean that they have to stay longer in this place.
“Ralph, just take her home now!” Justin shouted as he and Armand entered the palace.
“Were going to handle the fairies. Both of you need to leave the city now!” Armand shouted at him as well while they tried holding the door shut.
“She's hypnotized, I can't convince her to come with me.” Ralph informed them both.
“Just drag her out of here!” Justin replied while having a hard time keeping the door closed.
“Well, I think I don't have a choice. Justin?” Ralph called him out since they were about to go home.
“Don't worry about me. I'll help Armand here. Both of you go now!” Justin said as if sacrificing himself.
Ralph gets it, Justin wants to stay behind so that they can escape. Even Armand looks like he doesn't have a plan to come with them either. Both of them seem to be okay with dealing with the fairies. He needs to move now for their sacrifice not to be wasted. Although Arabelle is resisting, he decided to just pick her up and carry her instead. Before he can start running, the fairy prince shows up with his true ugly appearance to stop them.
