Chapter 33
I knocked on Rowen’s door and Dawson let go of my hand. I froze for a minute when Rowen answered the door. He was shirtless, and only wearing a pair of loose-fitting gray sweatpants that were hanging dangerously low on his hips. My eyes roamed up and down his body on their own accord.
Rowen smirked, “come on in.”
“Really man,” Dawson gave him a disgusted look.
“Hey, this is my date. You can leave if you don’t like my attire.”
Dawson shook his head and followed me in. Rowen had a single room, and he put pillows up against the wall on his bed to give us the feeling of sitting on a couch.
All three of us had a beer while we ate some snacks and made small talk. I did notice the tenseness that Dawson was talking about. When Rowen talked to Dawson, he seemed relaxed while they laughed and joked. When he looked at me, he tensed up.
I put my arm around Dawson and rested my head on his shoulder to test his theory. Rowen bit his bottom lip and scanned my body with his eyes, and the tenseness was definitely there.
Rowen turned around and started flipping through channels on his TV. I took it one step further and kicked my shoes off to make a noise before I turned to Dawson to move in for a kiss.
Dawson stared at me for a moment with an unreadable expression on his face. He licked his lips and lowered his mouth to mine. It was a quick kiss, but it was enough to see Rowen’s reaction. I noticed a smirk on his face as he did something on his phone.
He put is phone down by the TV and climbed on the bed to sit on the other side of me. He must have given up on finding something to watch. He threw the remote behind him and pulled me over, so my head was now on his chest. I noticed him throwing glances at Dawson, but he wasn’t taking the bait.
Rowen wrapped one arm around me and started rubbing my arm, as he tried to act casual and talk to Dawson. I sat up a little, so I was sitting in between them.
Rowen adjusted himself and moved his hand to my thigh. He wasn’t going too far, just lightly rubbing up and down my thigh. I could feel the sparks through my jeans, and I know he wants more. He lifted my legs and put them across Dawson's lap, as he pulled me back against his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and started rubbing light circles on my stomach.
The door to Rowen’s room flew open, slamming against the wall. I jumped and grabbed my chest. What the?
“What happened?” Creed yelled as he walked into the room. He’s pissed. He’s breathing heavily and looks like he’s barely in control.
“What are you doing here?” I yelled.
Creed looked around between all three of us before setting his glaze on me, “What the fuck is this a fucking sausage party? I don’t need to see this. I thought you were hurt.”
“I’m fine. We’re just watching a movie.” I stared back at him with a questioning look. What the heck is he even doing here?
“I was hoping we would have been a little further into our party by now, but I’m glad you’re here. We were just talking about you,” Rowen smirked at Creed. I turned my head and gave Rowen a questioning look.
“I figured it was time to fill Bella in on what you really came to Moonlight for.”
Rowen took a sip of his beer, “Do you want to tell her or should I?”
I linked Ryker, “all three of you get to Rowen’s room now. Something is wrong.”
Creed just stared at Rowen. I can’t quite read his expression. He looks pissed, hurt, and nervous all at the same time.
Rowen stared back at him. I glanced over at Dawson, and he looks just as confused as I am. All three of the boys stumbled into the room behind Creed.
“What’s going on in here?” Ryker asked as he stood next to Creed with his arms crossed.
“Good timing. I was just about to fill Bella in on why Creed came to Moonlight. He’s on a mission. Did you know that?”
I looked at Creed and then at Ryker. “Someone tell me what is going on.”
Creed locked his eyes with mine and swallowed hard, “It’s not true.”
“What’s not true?”
“Anything he says. It’s not true.” Creed's eyes looked like they were pleading with me, and I watched Ryker run his thumb and pointer finger under his chin.
“Somebody tell me what the hell is going on now.”
“Well, sweetheart, I was hoping that we could have let you get some revenge. I wanted to have you naked and underneath me when he walked in. It would have at least made you feel a little better. I don’t know what he’s been telling you, but I’ve got a reliable source that filled me in on just how much he hates wolves. All the supernaturals besides dragons, actually. Do you want me to keep going or do you want to tell her about your mission?”
Creed stared at me for a moment before he closed his eyes and shook his head. Rowen is hitting a nerve. He must be telling the truth about something.
“You have one job to do here, and it’s not to study. Isn’t that right, Creed?”
Creed looked into my eyes again, and all I can see is pain.
“Your job is to take out all the heirs, while the future prince takes on the Alpha’s. How many people are you supposed to kill? Oh, that’s right. All of us. I found your map.”
Rowen pulled out a notebook, flipped a few of the pages over and handed it to me.
“Look at the mark’s Bella. There are the spots where he planned on placing the bombs.” I just stared at Creed. He’s not saying anything to defend himself.
“It gets worse, beautiful. While Creed is on his mission to kill the heirs, his big brother is on his way to different packs with an army, including green ridge. They have one goal in mind. No one survives but dragons.”
My heart is racing, I’m so pissed that I’m strangely calm. “Is that true?”
I stared at Creed, but all he did was swallow hard. “Are we a fucking joke to you? Why did you even bother pretending to care about me if you want us all dead? You want the same thing as your father. You’re helping him.”
Creed opened his mouth to say something, but I shook my head, “Get the fuck out, I never want to see you again.”
“He will be gone soon Babe. The dean has already been notified. I won’t let him hurt you or any of us.” Rowen wrapped a protective around me as he stared Creed down.
