Chapter 62

-Jianna-

I woke up with a jolt and sat up expecting to see myself tied up and the torture to start again, but I was lying down in a four-poster bed, and someone had taken the liberty of cleaning me up. I looked around the room and saw James sleeping. He was covered in cuts and bruises. It broke my heart to see him like this. I closed my eyes and remembered everything we went through in the past before our memories were erased.

I leaned in closer and brushed a strand of hair from his face. He flinched a little, so I retreated my hand. I felt tears coming down my face. I wiped one that was just about to fall and looked at it. It's been a while since I cried. It was a strange sensation. But I knew why these were falling.

I looked at James and took a deep breath.

"I'm so sorry, James," I whispered. I sat up and hugged my knees. "I'm so sorry for getting you in this situation. I'm sorry that I let them hurt you." Tears continued to fall down my face. "I'm so sorry, James. I'm so sorry."

I buried my face between my knees and started quietly sobbing.

"Why are you sorry? I told you before all this, you don't ever have to be sorry. Remember?" whispered a voice behind me.

James was still lying in bed, but he was now awake and looking at me with concern.

"J, you shouldn't be sorry for loving me. I'm not sorry for loving you," he said apathetically.

I turned around and looked at him, "Are you sorry now?" I was still sobbing. This is not fair. I just got him back. Physically and mentally. And the last thing I want to know right now is whether James still loves me. It's a question I am not ready to have an answer.

James was silent for a moment. Then he sighed. I watched him put his arms behind his head and thought awhile.

"Take your time, why don't you?" I growled. The anticipation of the answer is driving me crazy. Then I heard the last sound I thought I was never going to hear in my lifetime again: James laughing.

I wiped the tears forming in my eyes and looked at him angrily. "Why are you laughing?"

He sat up and placed a finger on my chin, "Do you want me to?" he placed his face so close to mine that I could feel his breath, and I could see the bruises and wounds more clearly. In a breathy voice, he asked again, "Do you want me to?"

"D-do I want you to what?" I stuttered and tried to look away. I can suddenly feel my face warm up, and I'm sure it's bright red.

"Do you want me to be sorry for loving you?" he breathed.

"I...I," I started to say. Next thing I knew, he had gotten closer, and his lips were perfectly nestled on the curvature of mine.

"You heard me," he whispered. His lips brushed against mine with every word he said. "Do you want me to be sorry for loving you?"

"No," I whispered. I saw him close his eyes when I said those two letters.

Without another word, James leaned in and kissed me deeply. It was a kiss that spoke volumes - a kiss that let me know that he didn't blame me for what had happened and that he still loved me just as much as he did before our memories were erased. His hands caressed my face, sending shivers down my spine. He pulled away slightly, his forehead resting against mine. "Good," he breathed out before kissing me again.

James whispered in my ear as we finally pulled away, gasping for air. "I never stopped loving you, J. Not for a single moment. Not even when I lost my memories. The first time I saw you on that train, I knew. I don't know how, but I knew." I looked into his eyes and saw nothing but honesty and love. All the pain and fear that I had been feeling just moments before melted away.

I felt a weight lift off my shoulders, and my heart was filled with joy. I leaned in and kissed him, our lips molding together perfectly. He grabbed my hips and flipped me so he was on top of me. I giggled, and he smiled. He kissed me again, this time with more passion and urgency. Our hands explored each other's bodies, tracing the scars and bruises we had accumulated apart. It was like we were discovering each other all over again.

I could feel the heat rising between us as we lost ourselves in the moment. James pulled away for a brief moment and looked at me with lust-filled eyes. "I've missed you so much," he said before kissing me again, his tongue exploring my mouth.

I moaned softly as he trailed kisses down my neck, his hands reaching under my shirt. I arched my back, allowing him better access. Every touch felt like electricity running through my body. "James," I moaned out his name, unable to control myself.

Without breaking the kiss, James started to tug at my clothes, stripping me down until I was bare before him. I could feel his gaze on my body, his eyes taking in every inch of me. I blushed, feeling exposed and vulnerable, but James's touch was gentle and reverent. He kissed me again, his hands trailing down my sides until he reached the apex of my thighs. I gasped as he started to kiss and suck on my neck, sending waves of pleasure through my body.

Suddenly, James stopped and looked at me, his eyes darkening with lust.

"Please," I whispered, knowing exactly what he wanted. He didn't need any further encouragement. With a growl, he entered me, filling me completely. I gasped, arching my back. His hands were pressed against the headboard, stopping himself from moving too fast. He kissed me slowly, his tongue dancing with mine. I ran my fingers through his hair and pulled him closer, my hips moving to meet his. James moaned, the sensation overwhelming him. I smiled, loving that I had this effect on him.

James started to move faster, his lips against mine. I moaned into his mouth, trying to keep my cries at bay. I felt myself building up, the pressure growing at an immeasurable rate. James's breathing became ragged, his muscles taught.

I called out his name, letting my voice ring through the room. James thrust into me again, sending me over the edge. I lost all sense of thought, throwing my head back. James brushed his lips against my neck, sending aftershocks through my body.

James's own orgasm hit him, and with a grunt, I felt him release into me. He collapsed, rolling to the side and pulling me close. He buried his face in the crook of my neck, his arms wrapping around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him close. I stroked his hair, letting my fingers play with the strands. James kissed my

shoulder.

"I love you, J."
