Once the words left Kristoff's mouth, I saw nothing but black.
'Kill him.' Rose growled in my head, finally coming back. It was all thanks to the marking.
I caught everyone off guard with my sudden launching and was easily able to swing my fist into Kristoff's face, breaking his nose.
I wasn't satisfied with only that and continued serving blow after blow, allowing my anger to drive me. One hand was holding his upright by his collar while the other assaulted his face.
"How dare you call my parents worthless? How dare you even mention them on your tongue?!" I growled out as my fist collided rapidly with his face.
In the distance, I could hear the rest engaging in their own fight.
I was very grateful earlier when I saw Hugh, Gabrielle and Travis approaching my cell and setting me free.
I haven't asked about any details of course as we all rushed outside to leave, only to be met with the earlier scene between Lucian and his father.
I kicked Kristoff in the stomach, making him fall to his butt on the marble floor.
"Hugh." I called, keeping my anger filled eyes on the scum in front of me.
Hugh knew exactly what I wanted and immediately placed my swords that he brought with him in my open palm.
I held each in one hand and narrowed my eyes at Kristoff.
His eyes widened at the sight of my weapons and in a matter of seconds, he was on his feet.
"Now you're afraid? Huh?" I sneered at him as I stepped closer to his retreating form.
"Like hell I am." He replied as he threw a vase at me before running away.
The vase collided with my shoulder just in time as I turned to hide my face from it. It broke to several large pieces, cutting my skin in the process.
"April!" I heard Lucian call in alarm as he ran towards me.
He assessed my wound and growled loudly.
"I'm fine Luci-" I couldn't get to finish my sentence as five guards approached us in attack mode.
Lucian bent down to peck my lips before shifting into his wolf and fighting back the three wolves on his right.
I couldn't help but be mesmerised by him. His massive size, his timber-coloured fur, and his skilful fighting.
I couldn't stare shamelessly at my mate for too long as the other two wolves came in for my kill.
I dodged the one aiming at my shoulder, twirling around before kicking his side. The other was only a second away from biting my throat but I lowered myself down and then slashed his stomach with my sword.
I turned to the other wolf and ran towards him as he charged towards me. He leaped at me, but I was much quicker than him and shifted to the side before using my sword to decapitate him, watching as his head rolled below our feet.
I turned to look at Lucian just as he buried his snout on my neck, taking in a couple deep breaths of my scent to calm himself down, or maybe to reassure himself that I was safe.
"We still have a long way to go." I stated as I wrapped my arms around his head and started patting his soft fur.
He pulled back a little to look up at me. He nodded his head before licking my face then turning for his next kill.
My eyes scanned for where Kristoff was, but I couldn't locate him anywhere. The chicken must've run away.
I didn't search longer before another blonde wolf launched itself at me, knocking me to the ground.
"What...kind of...warrior are you...attacking a girl...from...behind?" I said with short breaths as I concentrated all my strength in holding his snout so that he doesn't rip my throat right out.
I bent my legs so that they were resting under his belly then swiftly stretched them to push him off.
He fell on his back and I took this opportunity to plunge my sword into his stomach.
Everyone around me has already shifted into either their wolf or snake forms, but I preferred my human state for until I find Kristoff.
A familiar growl made my head snap towards the right. Anger bubbled inside of me when I saw three wolves advancing in on Hugh's creme coloured wolf that was protecting a frightened looking Gabrielle behind him.
I wasted no time to run to them, tackling the wolf closest to me to the ground. We rolled across the marble floor for a second before we both split apart and growled at each other.
He was quick to respond to my attack with one of his own as he leaped into the air, coming right at me.
Still sitting on one knee, I rolled to the side before quickly standing up as he collided his body to my side, pushing me to the ground and just as he was about to aim at my throat, a large snake tail wrapped itself around his torso, raising him a couple feet above the ground before throwing him across the room.
I watched as the wolf's body collided with the staircase before rolling down unconscious.
I looked at the snake, whom I recognised as Travis, and nodded my head curtly in gratitude.
Looking in Hugh's direction, I saw that he too had help from a serpent with the other two wolves. He was proudly standing on one dead body while a serpent was next to the other.
I was about to engage myself in another fight when Kristoff's scent hit me strongly from the staircase.
Looking up, I saw nothing, so it was only logical that he went upstairs to hide.
I ran up the stairs, feeling my anger rise with each step I take. I followed his scent carefully, making sure that I don't confuse it with something else until I reached what appeared to be his study room.
I heard rustling from the inside and someone mumbling incoherent words to himself.
Opening the door, I saw Kristoff with a bag in his hand, collecting several things and placing them inside.
"What are you doing?" My question made him gasp audibly as he turned his head to look at me in surprise. I guess he wasn't expecting me so soon.
His startled expression turned to that of an angry one and a growl all too known to me erupted from his chest.
"You're not planning on running away, are you?" I asked, very amused by how frustrated he gets every time I push his buttons. I'll surely miss that when I kill him.
"It won't be running away when I'm done with you." He snarled at me.
"Oh, so you are running away." I stated with a raised eyebrow and a menacing smirk. "Well, you see, I can't let you do that. You still have a debt to pay."
"I owe you nothing!" He spat at me.
"You owe me everything!" I growled back, feeling my eyes darkening.
Kristoff replied with a growl of his own as he dropped his bag on the couch next to him.
He placed himself in an attacking stance and I mimicked his move.
It only took us a second before we were both charging at each other.
Because of Kristoff's bigger form, he was able to push me to the ground. I was quick by turning us around and start punching his already ruined face as fast as I could.
He held one of my hands and used his other hand to punch me in the gut, earning himself an advantage to push me from on top of him.
I didn't waste time to be back on my feet, ignoring the pain in my stomach and readying myself for his next attack.
"April!" Lucian's worried voice called through our mind-link. He must've felt the punch through our bond.
"I'm fine Lucian." I replied back before cutting off the link. It's no doubt that I'll get hurt during this fight, a lot for that matter, and I wouldn't want to worry him with every punch that I get.
I was snapped out of my thoughts with Kristoff's scream as he charged with his fist aimed at me.
I quickly bent my head to the side, his fist missing my face by mere inches, before grabbing it and slamming his arm down my bent knee, earning myself a loud bone breaking sound.
Kristoff yelped in pain and stepped back a little, holding his now broken arm. I took this chance to kick him straight in the stomach.
I guess I didn't calculate the strength of my kick well, for it made him fly across the small room and out the window, falling down with the shattered glass.
But to my luck, Kristoff was quick in grabbing onto my arm, pulling my down with him.
Falling from a three-story window wasn't really going to kill us, but it definitely did hurt a ton.
I groaned as I recovered from the fall, trying my best to stand on the ground with full balance. It was hard though, looking at how bad my body condition already was and how tired and hungry I am.
Kristoff on the other hand was no good either for he remained a couple of seconds motionless on the ground. I thought that he had already died until he groaned and rolled to his side.
I walked with shaky legs towards him, feeling pain in my side with every step and breath that I took. I had probably broken a rib when I fell, and unfortunately, I have lost my swords upstairs.
"Get up." I ordered breathlessly as I placed my right foot on his side and rocking his body weakly.
I was clutching my burning right arm, feeling blood trickle down it and to the ground. I could feel the hot liquid rolling down the left side of my face too.
Kristoff groaned again in pain.
"This is all your fault." He said in short pants. "You'll pay for this. I'll make sure you pay for everything." He continued.
"Get up!" I growled at him and kicked his back, making him twirl so that he laid on his back.
I could hear the rest coming out of the castle and gathering to where Kristoff and I were, watching the scene play in front of them.
I felt Lucian's warmth as he stood behind me, placing one hand on my shoulder while the other lay on top of the hand holding my wounded arm.
"Lucian." Kristoff said, letting out a small chuckle. "That's not fair April. If you want to kill everyone involved in your parents' death, then why leave Lucian out?"
I furrowed my eyebrows at what he said.
"What are you trying to play at, mutt?" I growled out.
Kristoff laughed again. "Oh, don't tell me you didn't know that Lucian was the one to tell me about your father's sniffing around." He replied with a weak roll of his eyes.
"What the hell are you saying?" I snapped at him. "You can't blame this on him." I snarled, feeling Lucian's touch leave my body.
"I'm only stating the truth." Kristoff shrugged before closing his eyes and lying comfortably on the ground. "If you're going to kill me then go ahead, but I think it'll be fair to kill Lucian too since he was the actual cause. That of course, if you want to avenge your parents properly and let them rest in peace."
I growled loudly at him as I lost control to Rose, feeling myself shift into my wolf and charging at him.
I couldn't get to touch him though, as a large wolf tackled me from my side, pushing me away from Kristoff.
The tingles that shot in my side and then through my whole body made me gasp in disbelief. I didn't want to believe it though, I couldn't. But my fears were confirmed when I turned my head to find Lucian in wolf form blocking his father's body from me.
