Gentleman Wanted 9
Gem
He had proposed.
With his dick in my mouth, he had bloody proposed. Like I would take him seriously asking at such a moment. Not that I would take him seriously anyway.
It was much too soon for that. Even if we had been living together as friends for a year. It wasn’t like it had been anything but a platonic relationship.
We were growing closer, and I had feelings for him, but that didn’t mean we should run away and tie the knot. I had a sneaky suspicion it had more to do with the fact that all of his friends were settling down rather than him wanting to spend his life with me.
Glancing at him from beneath the curtain of my hair as I wiped down one of the dusty sides in what used to be his tattoo parlour, I studied his face. He was frowning down at something in his hands. Like the wad of crumpled up paper, he was holding held bad news.
“Everything ok?”
It seemed like an eternity until he smiled at me. A beautiful flash of white against the dark whiskers on his cheeks. “Yeah, everything is fine.” His dark eyes skirted away. It was pretty clear he was hiding something. And it was even clearer that it was something important.
“Gent.” Exasperated, I sighed.
“Gemma.” He sounded mocking as he reached up to pull me to my feet, his hand sliding along my lower back to pull me into the warmth of his body.
We had been cleaning for hours. Trying to get the shop ready to open on the weekend. And if I was honest, I was glad to be off of my knees and on my feet.
“You’re not telling me something.” Smiling, I looked up at him. I wasn’t sure how I hadn’t noticed how handsome he was before. Maybe not in a jaw-dropping way. But there was something about him. A steadiness under those dark good looks that I found really appealing.
“Am I?” His chuckle washed over me, causing something deep in the pit of my stomach to clench tight. “I can’t think of anything I need to tell you, not when you are looking at me like that.” His arms tightened around me, making my breath catch in my throat.
“Like what?”
“Like you want to do some really dirty things with me. I’ve not seen that look on your face before Gemma, but I know what it is.”
I didn’t even try to deny it. What would be the point?
“I think you're horny.”
Gent winked, and I couldn’t help it. I giggled. He was right. I was horny. But I was also nervous. I had a baby now. Things down there might not be what they used to be. I knew the rest of my body wasn’t.
Would he be disgusted by me? Would the sight of my naked body revolt him?
“I am horny,” I admitted. I couldn’t act like a nun forever. It was driving me just as insane as it was him.
Gent’s dark eyes widened. The hands that had been resting on my back slipped lower to cup my denim-clad ass. He yanked me forward, pushing his crotch into my stomach.
The smallest of moans tumbled from my lips. I wanted him, and he wanted me. That much was evident from the hardness pushing against me.
I’d had that hardness in my mouth. I had felt it throb and spasm as he coated my tongue with his release, but I couldn’t help wonder what it would feel like stretching other parts of me.
Reaching up, I tangled my fingers into his hair. Tugging his head down to mine. I put everything I had into that kiss.
“You sure?” Gent’s voice was husky.
I didn’t answer him. Instead, I found his mouth again, my tongue warring with his.
“Thank fuck for that.” Without warning, the hands that were cupping my ass lifted me, leaving me no choice but to wrap my legs around his waist. “Thank…”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt.” There was laughter in Ruin’s voice. “But there’s news on Young Blood. You’re both wanted.”
Gent moved his face away. But he didn’t drop me to my feet. Instead, he walked forward, with my body still wrapped around him. “Like hell, you didn’t mean to interrupt.” The hands on my ass kneaded relentlessly, sending small shock waves through my body.
I was so turned on that it was a miracle I didn’t cum just from his hands on my ass. Ruin had some seriously lousy timing.
“How soon do you need us?”
Throwing back his head, Ruin laughed. “Wicked wants you now. So wrap this up.” Without another word, he turned on his heel and walked away, leaving me cursing his retreating back.
“This isn’t over.” Gent smiled against my mouth. “I mean it, Gemma. This isn’t over. Tonight you belong to me.”
“Ok. Let’s go and see what Wicked wants. The sooner we go, the sooner we can go home.” Still, he didn’t let me down. He seemed to be enjoying the feel of my legs around him as much as I was.
“Yeah, the sooner we do this, the sooner we can go home to bed.”
I had been expecting to go to the clubhouse. So when Gent pulled up outside Fender’s… no, it wasn’t Fender’s house anymore, it was Wicked and Chelsea’s home, but it took me by surprise.
I wasn’t even sure how Gent had known we should come here. It wasn’t like Ruin had said anything before he left.
Almost like he had read my mind, Gent reached over to catch my hand in his. “You ok going in there?” Brown eyes searched my face. He knew my past with Fender. How I had left my home and family as a young, naive woman to be with the much older man who had promised me the world and never delivered. I had stuck around in the hopes that he would deliver on those promises. But I knew now that to Fender, I had never been anything but a warm, willing pussy.
Hell, I wasn’t even sure that I had been in love with him. It may have been just the infatuation of a woman who didn’t know any better.
“Yeah.” I squeezed at his fingers. Giving him the smallest of smiles. “Yeah, I’m ok. I was just wondering how you knew?”
“It was decided that any meeting to do with Young Blood would be held here. We don’t know for certain who in the club can be trusted.”
I knew how hard it was for him to say those words. How much it hurt him that someone he loved and trusted like a brother may be responsible for Fender’s death. Whether it was Young Blood or someone else in the club didn’t matter. Someone had broken his trust.
“Ok.” I wanted to comfort him. To take the pain, I could see in his eyes away. But I didn’t know what to say or do to make things better.
“You grab the bag, and I’ll get the baby.” Gent sighed heavily as he swung himself out of the car. “Let’s get this over with.”
Chelsea had decorated. Not that I had been to Fender’s house often, but the place was nothing like I remembered. Everything was white and grey. A modern, clean home. And it suited her perfectly. Or at least it would have been clean and uncluttered if her living room wasn’t full of sweaty foul-mouthed bikers lounging all over her leather sofas.
“You guys made it.” This was a different Chelsea to the one I knew, full of smiles and happiness. Being with Wicked was good for her. Sure it would take some getting used to seeing them together, but it was obvious they were crazy about each other.
Eagerly she held out her arms. Everyone always wanted to hold Bobby. It had been hard handing him over at first, but it was becoming easier and easier as the weeks passed. Chelsea was his sister. I should be pleased he had a family that wanted to be part of his life. “Gimme, gimme.”
Smiling, I passed my son over to her waiting arms. “Me and my little brother are going to make tea. Make yourselves comfortable. I’ll be right back.” Without another word, she turned on her heel and disappeared through the kitchen door.
“Shall we get started?” Wicked’s voice was firm. Turning, I half expected to see him staring at me, but he was facing Cali. “Want to tell everyone what you found out?”
For a moment, she looked scared. There had only ever been one other moment that I had seen that look on her face, and that was when Truth had aimed a gun at her.
“Cali?” He prompted as we took our seats.
Sighing, she caught my eye. “I’ve found out who Young Blood is.”
“Who?” I had already told them everything I knew. I hadn’t seen who had shot Fender that fateful night, but the last person I had seen before it happened had been the youngest member of the Black Aces. I had passed him without really realising it.
“Young Blood is Adam Prince.” Truth was frowning. “We all knew who he was when he prospected for us.”
Cali shook her head. “Before he was Adam Prince, he was known as Adam Flannigan.”
Flannigan? Why did that name sound so familiar? I was pretty sure I had heard it before.
I just couldn’t place where.
“Flannigan?” Ruin’s voice sounded tortured. “Shit.” Over and over again, he shook his head.
“What’s going on?” Confused, I stared at him.
“It’s how Fender got his name. He walked away from a crash that should have killed him. The woman in the other car wasn’t so lucky.” The colour drained from his face. “The woman’s name was Mary Flannigan. I’m guessing Young Blood was her son.”
“You mean, Young Blood killed Fender for revenge?” It was hard to believe. Young Blood had been my friend. A brother to these men for years. How had he lived alongside them if his president was the one who had killed his mum? I wouldn’t have been able to do it.
“Hell.” Wicked’s hands went back to tugging his hair. “He fooled all of us. Played the long game. And we can’t even be sure that it’s finally over.”
Snapping my head towards him, I frowned. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, if he’s waited this long, he’s been patient and sneaky. Why would he stop at just wiping out Fender?” His eyes met each of ours in turn. “I wouldn’t if I was him. I would wipe out the entire family. Ruin and Chelsea.” He paused his eyes, finding mine unblinking. “And you and Bobby as well. We have to go forward knowing that he might come for all of you.”
