Chapter 38. Sugar Baby to the Boss?

Sarah was silent for a moment. Even though she was trying to disguise it, Lucy noticed her friend's odd behavior when her face suddenly grew red.

"My feet?"

"My leg is in good condition. I smacked the cabinet at home since I was a little sore."

Lucy's gaze peered more intently for the response to her query. Lucy laughed out of the blue, as if her brain was in tune with the universe.

Why are you laughing, Lucy? Is something amusing going on?"

Lucy gave a quick shake of her head. "Is that Rayen knocking on the cabinet door?" Lucy gave her companion a little prod. ill-lucky How was Lucy aware of this? Despite Sarah's efforts to conceal everything with an explanation. Sarah felt incredibly ashamed.

"Lucy, you should not only talk." Sarah continued to try to sidestep it with her uncomfortable smile.

"It does not need to be avoided in that manner. If it hurts, that is normal. It appears that you guys have been doing this for quite some time, as I have discovered. It is insane how Rayen has been suppressing it all this time." Lucy laughed.

"Yet I am also content. It appears that you are indeed married."

"May I ask what you mean?" Sarah scowled in shock over her brow.

No need to act fake, Sar. I am aware of the nature of your bond with Rayen. I take it you have been attempting to keep it from me the entire time? You claim that everything is alright every time. But that is how things actually are." Lucy inhaled deeply.

"Starting now, will you refrain from trying to keep anything from your friend? Tell me right away if there are any issues with my household or if Rayen causes you any harm. assuming you still think of me as a friend." Sarah gave a rapid nod.

"That is why, you know, we need to be honest with one other." Sarah gave a slender smile.

Lucy was unable to say that because Sarah was also aware of her friend's suffering. However, Lucy kept it a secret from him; maybe there was a good reason for this.

But in all honesty, Sarah was a little let down by his attitude as a friend.

"You too, do not try to hide it—do not even go so far as to warn Brother Josh not to talk about what happened to you because of your lover."

Deg.

Lucy stopped, as though her heart had suddenly dropped out of place.

"Y-I know, Sar?"

"Obviously. Before brother Josh ever told me, I already knew."

"I did not mean to say that. because I begged Brother Rayen in private to clean up your bastard boyfriend."

"So Benny stayed home because his parents went away? However, due to..."

Indeed. Regards, Brother Rayen. Sarah intervened, the girl revealed the truth. "He was the one who threatened Benny that he would bring down his firm and put that guy in prison if he still dared to approach you," the girl said.

Working erratic hours and doing as you please has many benefits and drawbacks for coworkers. In reality, Sarah did not want to work that way. Raten, though, forbade Sarah from having to labor through the night. The workday must end at six of the clock in the afternoon. Even when Sarah begins working in the afternoon, this still holds true. Even when Sarah begins working in the afternoon, this still holds true. fifteen minutes after five o'clock. The girl needs to return home right now. It is Rayen's habit to require Sarah to be home whenever he returns. Because the restaurant was packed, he once failed to announce that he would be returning home at night.

The restaurant manager was immediately reprimanded by Rayen, which is why Sarah obeyed his orders because she did not want her husband to reprimand her boss. Despite the fact that Sarah is currently being shunned and is believed to be the boss of the company, she is not upset or making an effort to explain herself.

"He is really nice, he only came at three in the afternoon. Now he is about to go home. It is like this restaurant is his own," chuckled Cindy, one of the chefs there who has never liked Sarah.

"Ma'am, I have requested authorization from Mr. Bima. If I do not work during the scheduled working hours, I apologize. However, I will undoubtedly work during college breaks in accordance with the same schedule as other workers." Cindy scoffed, indicating that she did not care to hear Sarah's justification.

"I assumed you were only trying to market your attractiveness. However, it appears that you are equally adept at belittling your supervisor," Cindy scoffed.

"What are you trying to say? What you have accused me of is not who I am. Mom, I still have respect for myself. Honorable Mrs. Cindy, even if I did not come from a wealthy background, I would never conduct something as heinous as that!" Sarah, who was enraged by the constant accusations made against women for being cheap.

Sarah requested Rayen not to disclose their marriage to any of his employees, including those at the restaurant, in order to keep it a secret. Rayen accepted the agreement as well. Simply put, they will divulge information regarding this marriage if needed. Sarah believes that restaurant staff members do not yet need to be aware of her true identity.

Sarah wants to work comfortably without having her status as the business owner's wife called into question. But Sarah is sick and weary of people making fun of and insulting her, not just at school but now at her job as well. Even though Sarah was tired of being alone, she remained patient enough to keep her relationship a secret.

Celine idly rolled her eyes. Then, in a haughty manner, he said, "You think I am interested in your explanation? Do you really believe I will regret what you said? Cindy snorted once more. "Do not worry, I will get your perspective!"

"Just so you know, everything was still OK when you started working here. However, chef Bima trusted you more than I did after you arrived! Sar, I truly do not like you. You are aware of it for sure, so do not ever count on me to treat you nicely." He stated, his expression icy. Cindy then shoved Sarah's corpse aside and walked away. Sarah struck the table and her elbow, and the woman did not seem to care.

Sarah winced in pain. "Ahhkk..."

When Alvin happened to go by and noticed Sarah was still seated on the floor, he said, "Sar, are you okay?"

Sarah was helped up by Alvin. "What is the issue with you?"

"It is alright, Vin. It is only a little issue." Sarah grinned as though nothing had occurred.

Mayang, who just so happened to be nearby, also came over.

"Do not worry, Sar, Mrs. Cindy. That is how she is. She has a vindictive and envious disposition. She has no friends here because of this."

"How did you find out, huh? Should it have been earlier..."
