"Thank you for bringing Leila here." He added, tucking his hands into his pants pocket.

Vanessa was almost tempted to ask him what his relationship with Leila was, but she swallowed back her words because it wasn't her business and she felt that she wasn't in any position to know.

"It's not a problem." She shrugged.

"You should go back in. I have to leave." Vanessa said.

"Alright, I'll see you during the weekend." Riccardo smiled.

"Weekend? Why?" Vanessa asked, confused for a moment.

"You forgot already?" Riccardo asked.

"Forgot what?"

"That you agreed that I'd take Ethan and Emma out." He said.

"Oh, so much on my mind." She muttered to herself.

Glancing back at Riccardo, she said. "I didn't forget, it just skipped my mind."

With that being said, she turned around and began to walk away, leaving Riccardo to stare at her retreating figure.

Outside, as soon as Diego saw her, he opened the car door for her and Vanessa settled in.

Diego started the car immediately and drove out of the hospitals parking lot.

"Diego, what about the..." Vanessa wasn't chances to complete her statement when the blaring sound of her ringtone disrupted her.

She fished out her phone from her Pocket and saw that it was a call from Damien.

"Why is he calling me?" She wondered.

She answered the call and placed the phone on her ear.

"Damien, what's up?" She asked.

"Where are you right now?" He asked.

"What do you mean where am I? What's going on?" Vanessa asked, confusion laced in her voice.

"We're having a meeting with the board members and everyone is waiting for you!" He whispered yelled.

"What. I'm on my way." Vanessa said and quickly disconnected the call.

"Geez. How could I forget?" She asked as she mentally face palmed herself.

"Drive to the company, Diego." Vanessa ordered.

"Sure ma'am."

ST. MARTINS HOSPITAL

When Lucas walked into Leila's room, Hayley and Riccardo quickly excused themselves and gave the couples some privacy.

Lucas walked towards her bed and sat on a chair beside it, while Leila was sitting up on the bed.

"How are you? Are you feeling better?" Lucas asked, reaching for her hands.

"Yes, I'm much better now." Leila said.

"That's good to hear. Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?" Lucas asked.

"Nothing. I just has some fruits." She said.

"Okay."

"When did you come back? I thought your..." Leila stopped midway.

"It was supposed to be a surprise. I guess I'm the one who got surprised." Lucas muttered.

"I'm sorry." Leila apologized.

"Hey." Lucas called calmly.

"You don't need to apologize, you did nothing wrong."

"But still, I feel bad for having everyone worry about me." She said sadly.

"You don't have to. Can you remember what happened?" Lucas asked.

"Yes." Leila gave a slight nod.

"After the interview..." Leila said, going ahead to tell Lucas all she could recall.

Lucas nodded his head as he listened attentively till she was done.

"Don't worry. We'll get to the bottom of this." He assured her.

"Thank you." Leila smiled.

Lucas nodded his head as he rose from the chair.

"I need to take care of somethings, I'll be back later." He said to Leila.

He walked out of the room and met Hayley and Riccardo sitting outside. When Hayley saw him, she stood and walked back into the room to take care of her friend while Riccardo stood and walked to meet Lucas.

"What next?" Riccardo asked.

"What do you think?" Lucas asked back.

"I think you need to find a solid evidence and put an end to all of this, or else it's going to get a lot worse than it already is."

"That's right." Lucas nodded thoughtfully.

"Guard here, I got something to do." He said to Riccardo and immediately walked of.

"So what, I'm a guard now?" Riccardo asked after him but he was already gone.

Riccardo shooked his head with a scoff, he moved closer to the door and stood in front of it.

His phone beeped and he brought it out of his pocket to see that it was a message from his secretary.

"I have cleared you schedule." The message read.

"Good." Riccardo texted back.

He kept his phone back into his pocket and glanced up in front of the quite hallway to see an unknown person in an all black outfit staring back at him with a cold calculating gaze.

Riccardo stood still, watching the stranger in front of him. He expected the person to make a move maybe attack him, or at least say something. But nothing happened. They just stood there, silently, as if waiting.

After what felt like a long minute, the stranger suddenly turned and began to walk away, like he owned the place. Riccardo's eyes narrowed. He hadn't expected that. He thought about chasing after the stranger, but something stopped him. What if this was a trick, a way to get him to leave his post? What if, once he was gone, someone else would come in and attack the ladies?

He clenched his fists, feeling torn. The idea of letting this stranger just walk off didn't sit right, but he couldn't risk leaving Leila and Hayley unguarded.

Whatever Lucas had in mind should be executed early before things get more ugly. Speaking about ugly, he couldn't help but wonder who was behind all those messages sent to Vanessa.

Everything that was happening around him recently just felt so sinister, as if the enemies had been planning them all along and just waiting for the perfect time to strike.

He didn't even what to imagine what would had been Leila's faith if Hayley and Vanessa had gotten to that room later. How heartbroken his friend was going to be.

Different thoughts swirled in his mind as he stood outside Leila's room, but his heartbeat accelerated as soon as he heard the terrific scream that came from her room.
