Chapter 75

Selene’s POV.

Nathaniel and I were off to our honeymoon. We both got two weeks off work, the first week we’d spend here, in Italy. The second week would be back home. Roman’s week was booked too; he would be with his grandparents, no doubt being spoiled rotten by them. Nathaniel and I didn’t want to bother Anya and Kai since they had their hands full with the twins, who were now one and a half.

“Good morning, Mrs.,” Nathaniel said as he kissed down my neck. His soft lips descended down to my collarbone, leaving hot kisses in their wake. I moaned softly as I felt his tongue swirl around my skin, my hands flying to his hair.

Nathaniel adjusted me under him, one of his hands slowly parting my thigh as he stroked me. His mouth went down further, and soft kisses and nibs at my breasts made me gasp. I moved my body up to meet his tongue. His tongue swirled around my nipple as his lips closed around them.

“Oh Nathaniel,” I moaned, getting needy for more. He sure as hell woke me up; I trailed my hands down his back as I pulled him further to me. “I need you, Nate,” I whispered to him. Nathaniel let out a guttural moan and began to deliver my every wish.

He promised a great day for the rest of our marriage, and this morning was exactly that. I managed to sneak away from him and locked the bathroom door. I was nervous to take the pregnancy test; we planned on trying after the wedding, but a few days prior to the wedding, I started noticing the signs. I only ever went through this once, but I had a gut feeling.

I had finished my skincare routine, I had done my hair, and I was all dressed for the day. I couldn’t stall much longer, but I still tried. We had plans to go out for breakfast– well since Nathaniel’s method of waking me up made us stay in bed longer, it would now be brunch. He had a boat trip planned for us. I’m not even sure; I left all the planning to him since he enjoyed spoiling me so much.

I had yet to give him his wedding gift, but I was starting to think he’d be getting two. My timer went off, and I took a deep breath before picking up the pregnancy test, and I gasped. ‘Pregnant’ was written on the little display. Our family would grow.

I had my hand over my mouth as I muffled my tears of happiness, my heart racing as I looked at the test. Okay, I needed to gather myself. I grabbed a different box, a random one from a cream I found, and put it inside.

I returned to Nathaniel, who couldn’t stop stealing kisses from me, and for once, I had to deny him those kisses so I could grab his actual gift.

“Here’s your wedding gift,” I handed him the small box.

“You shouldn’t have bothered, Selene; having you in my life is more than enough,” Nathaniel said as he held onto my hand and the box.

“Open it, or I won’t kiss you the entire day,” I lightly threatened.

“Cruel woman,” he muttered with a smile as he began to open the gift. Inside lay a very expensive watch, one that would match his collection perfectly. Inside was a small stone, Roman’s birthstone, and there was a place for more to come. It was an elegant watch with his name engraved on the back.

“Selene, this is perfect– I would’ve never thought of something like this,” Nathaniel wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tight, kissing my face.

“That stone is Roman’s birthstone, and I made sure to leave space for more,” I informed him, watching as his smile grew.

“I love it even more; you’re so smart,” he commented and hugged me once more before letting go.

“One last gift, it’s in the bathroom, check the box on the counter,” I instructed.

“Sounds quite odd; you’re not gonna lock me in the room, are you?” Nathaniel asked jokingly as he went into the bathroom. He frowned at the box, but I just nodded, and he sighed. Nathaniel opened the box, and when he pulled out the test, his jaw dropped, and his hand shook a little.

He finally looked at me, his eyes dropping to my still normal-sized stomach.

“You– you’re pregnant?” He asked with a shaking breath.

“Yeah. I realized two to three days before the wedding; I wasn’t too sure though, so I took a test this morning,” I informed him, but he just launched at me, wrapping his arms around me and spoiling me with kisses and sweet words.

“You continue to make me the happiest man on earth,” he whispered against my lips.

The following nine months went by so fast; I couldn’t even believe it. With Roman, it felt as if time had slowed down, but this time it was quite different. Besides the time effect, the pregnancy was almost the same as Roman's, only I craved grapes and mango instead of strawberries.

Jennifer and Jonathan had moved to Australia; it wasn’t their official home yet, but they spent over half a year in town. They threw me the best baby shower and were so excited for another grandchild.

Kai and Anya were just as excited and constantly gushed over the new baby and what joy it brought us all.

Roman, he was over the moon when we told him. He had already started planning every trip and activity he and his baby sibling would do. We told him it would take time before the baby would learn how to talk and walk, but Roman didn’t care. He had helped decorate the baby’s room and even helped pick the first name from the list we provided. It was utterly perfect.

Our family would continue to grow– shit.

“Nate! My water broke!” I shouted through the house.

Nathaniel ran to me and rushed me to the car. He had grabbed everything we needed and then rushed to the hospital. After hours of labor, long, long hours, there was finally a cry in the room.

I laid back and panted for air, looking up at the ceiling. He was here, our baby boy was born and was quite healthy and big as expected. Theo Jensen Sullivan.

“Oh Selene, he’s perfect,” Nathaniel whispered as he was given the baby. He brought Theo to me, and we both admired our baby boy.

After we soaked up the moment, I got cleaned up the best I could whilst still recovering, and I allowed Kai, Anya, and Nate’s parents to come in. They all checked up on me and the baby.

I stared at Roman as he admired his baby brother. My two boys and I knew for a fact Nathaniel and I were not done yet.
