97- Memorable Events

“It’s not the end of the world, stop overreacting!”

My heart skipped a beat, an undesirable thought came to my mind. My hands were cold due to anxiety. I kept chanting something under my breath but it gave me no consolation.

I clenched and unclenched my hands while lowering my head.

“It’s gonna be alright, It’s gonna be alright.”

I emit deep breaths to stay composed but no matter how much I try I can't. I can't comprehend my surroundings.

Filled with distress and tension, what if something happened? What if something went wrong?

It's been three months since Roy proposed to me and today was our engagement and all thoughts which can give me consternation were echoing in my mind.

I was trying to remember Roy's words between these echoes of distress so that they could calm my heart and put me at ease but to no avail.

"Garnet.."

Roy called me lovingly while holding my hands reassuringly. I looked at him in nervousness, "Soon is our engagement, I don't want you stress about it. It's gonna be fine."

He assured me while giving my hands a soft squeeze. I nodded and nibbled on my bottom lip timidly letting him continue.

"Look, Love. After the engagement you can have as much time as you want. I will not force you. You don't have to force things." He said softly.

His words calmed my heart and somehow gave me courage. If he is at my side, I feel so complete, like nothing can harm me. I smiled and nodded.

"Thank you, Roy." I said sincerely.

He kissed my hands and continued, "Another thing, although I don't need to tell you but still ignore the talks of the people. No matter what anyone says about you, do not pay attention to it." He said jokingly.

I nodded and chuckled as I replied, "I know. Don't worry."

I sighed loudly and asked Hailey, yeah, she came too, I had no one to come from my side.

"Can I meet Roy?"

Lesley who just entered the room gasped upon hearing my words.

"No way in hell! I know both of you are dying to meet each other but it's a big no. You have to wait." She scolded and walked closer.

I look at Hailey with puppy eyes. I just want to meet Roy so that he could give me pacification.

"Don't give me that look. Lesley is right." She cleared her throat, turning away.

"You guys are so bad." I mumbled.

"We know." Lesley laughed.

Hailey smirked and asked, "Good Luck."

I blushed and muttered, "What do you mean? I-It's just my engagement."

"Just engagement~" Both of them cooed at the same time.

My blush deepened as I stood up with my heavy silver and blue dress embroidered with beads and laces. The long sleeved evening length gown.

But it looked really attractive and hugged my curves perfectly. I looked really bewitching, the gown hugged my sides perfectly. The gown was adorned with gray beads from the front and stopped in the midsection and then starting with a gradient color of midnight blue.

"Roy is gonna love it." Hailey said leaning in.

"Blue is his favorite color." She told me.

I smiled and nodded, "I know." The midnight blue color suited me very well.

"You look like a princess, Nut!" Eri came and hugged me.

I pat her head and smile sadly. "Thanks." A tear pricked in the corner of my eyes but I quickly wiped it off.

"What happened?" Hailey asked.

"Nothing.. I just missed my parents. If they were here.."

"We are here, my child." Aunt Lenny's voice came. When I heard her voice, a radiant smile crept upon my lips as I hugged her.

"Ah, you are looking so graceful my love." She said and kissed my forehead.

Uncle gave me his blessing as I whispered, "I am glad you guys came."

"It's our child's engagement, how can we not come?" Uncle laughed. I grinned and the door opened as my heart skipped a beat.

I gulped and felt my energy being drained from me. My leg became weak, my hands and feet turned ice. I took a deep breath and walked out with my weak legs.

I raised my gaze and saw Roy, looking exquisite as always, a flawless beauty one desires to espy but I have the honor of calling him as mine.

My whole being was filled with great elation to see him and the benediction of saying that I am his and he is mine is bliss.

“Finally…” My heart thumped fast and loud by each step I took close.

Our eyes met and I could feel the love of his gaze, warming my heart as a lull took over me, all the ravage inside me calmed down when I looked at his azure eyes.

“Is it a dream?” He asked, rubbing his eyes.

Everything was replaced by a sweet emotion of love, nothing but him exists for me now. My heart was filled with an everlasting emotion of endearment.

“No.” I giggled

He smiled widely and held my hands while whispering to me, "You are looking very tempting, sweetheart."

I blushed furiously as my smile grew wider with unimaginable adoration filling me up. I turned my head away shyly and Lucien fake coughed from behind.

"Desperate, Brother?" He teased us.

"Very." Roy replied, looking at me intensely. My heart skipped a beat and I felt so abashed.

"Oh, My, You guys are looking so perfect together." Mrs Layne's voice came from behind.

"I know." Roy smirked perfectly.

"Someone is being shy, don't you think, Lucien?" Lesley teased from behind. I turned and glared at both of them to shut them up but they just laughed.

"Congratulations." Hailey smiled sadly.

"Thanks." Me and Roy said at the same time. I turned my head and saw a group of girls glaring at me.

I smirked looking at them and winked; telling them that he is mine and they better stay away from him.

"Where are you looking?" Roy asked, pushing me from his shoulder. I stumbled a little and turned to him.

"I am looking anywhere but you." I replied, looking away, not meeting his gaze.

"And why is that?" He asked with a frown.

"You are looking irresistible." I breathed out, biting my bottom lip from timidness.

"For you." He whispered in my ears. A shiver went down my spine when his hot breath hit my skin.

“This humble man is all yours, Ma’am.”

I grinned and turned to him but he turned his back on me and walked away. I frowned and also walked back.

I walked to Lesley and began to talk to her with my gaze fixed on him. He was talking to someone, the smile on his face warms my heart to look at him.

When he is here, my eyes don't look anywhere else other than him.

"He is all yours. Don't gawk that much." Hailey said coming from behind.

I chuckled and replied, "That's why, I am looking." She awed and we began to talk.

Roy turned his gaze to me and our eyes met. He looked at me with a smirk and that bewitching expression enhanced his features more.

He took a sip from his drink, his beguiling eyes bore into mine as I smirked back, turning away from him. "What games of eyes are you guys playing?" Lesley asked.

I laughed a little and shook my head. "Nothing."
