Chapter 98
Alicia has just returned home since she went to drop Diane off at school, her little girl has missed a lot of days due to the accident and she could only hope Diane will be able to cope now that she's back to school.
On her way upstairs she ran into Evie, she didn't bother saying anything to her and just wanted to go to her room but Evie stopped her.
"Please hold on Alicia." She said, causing Alicia to stop dead in her track.
When Alicia looked at her, she smiled.
"What's wrong? You're being a bit cold to me you know, I do try to get along with you but it's like you don't even want me to. Why do I get the feeling that you don't even like and want me to be here."
"Maybe it's because I don't." Alicia honestly replied.
Evie wasn't even surprised to hear that, she simply scoffed. "Are you sure it's because you don't like me or is something else attached to it?" Evie asked.
Alicia frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, maybe it's because you're scared, scared that I'm going to take Adams away from you." Evie stated. "I pretty much overheard your conversation with him so I can tell that's the reason, my closeness with Adams doesn't sit well with you and you're going to do anything to prevent it."
"Look Evie, I've got something important to do and you also look like you have somewhere to be so why don't we just go do what we have to okay?" Alicia gave her a smile and was about to walk away when Evie started talking again.
"You know you should be scared." Evie started.
Alicia paused and slowly turned to her. "What did you say?" She asked calmly.
The look on Evie's face has now changed, she doesn't even have her usual smile on her face, rather she has the seriousness and it's making her look so much different.
"If you're scared of me taking Adams away from you then you should be afraid." She repeated. "But I'm quite sure you know that already because you've obviously been getting the feeling that something isn't right." She chuckled softly.
"I hope you don't think I came all the way here just for my modeling project alone, that only gave me the ticket to returning home and I had thought that my Adams will still be single but no, you're already in the way of everything, I bet you don't even know the truth about I and Adams relationship."
Alicia furrowed her brow in confusion. "What truth are you talking about?"
"My dear Alicia, you're really so naive." Evie laughed. "Do you really think Adams and I are just childhood friends!?" She scoffed. "No honey, we're more than that, and I'm sure your insecurity made Adams hide the truth from you, I bet he didn't want you to feel threatened when in fact you should feel threatened."
"You see, Adams and I did grow up together and due to how close we were, our parents got us betrothed to each other, apart from that, Adams and I had loved each other right since we were kids so we never had any issues with being betrothed because we had actually been wanting to get married to each other when the time was right for us." She explained.
"Girl you have no idea how madly in love we were with each other, I even gave him my virginity." She smiled at the memory and then she licked her lips as she pictured the event of that night, the day she had made Adams take her virginity, yes he never wanted to, he wanted to wait until they got married but she didn't have that patience and did everything she could to make him give in, because of his love for her and since he doesn't want to hurt her, Adams gave in eventually and they had the best moments of their life!
"Our bond was something else and we didn't fail to flaunt our relationship in public. If I hadn't left when I did, we would have gotten married and you never would have gotten the chance of coming close to him." Evie stated. "I had always been passionate about modeling, I got a good modeling offer at a pretty young age due to my parents connection, it was also an opportunity for me to see the world and I couldn't miss it for anything, not even for Adams, so I ended our relationship and went after my dreams of becoming a model. Adams was devastated but it couldn't be help, that was my one big opportunity to success and I couldn't miss it for anything, so I had to leave."
''I bet you don't even know that I'm Adams first love.''
"What?" Alicia muttered, the whole information was just too much for her, she wanted to yell at Evie and tell her that she's lying but she couldn't do it because deep down she could tell that Evie was telling the truth, that she wasn't lying about this.
"Yes my dear Alicia." Evie chuckled. "I'm Adams first love, one he was head over heels in love with, the one he was crazy about for years." She smiled. "And you know there's a saying that you can't ever get over your first love, one might meet other people and love them too but a first love will always remain a first love."
"I did try loving other people but it never lasted long because I couldn't get over Adams."
"I and Adams relationship goes way back and is much stronger that you can ever imagine, I would love to see you try breaking that, it's not like you have a chance but come on honey, give it a trial." She smirked. "I've come back for him Alicia, I've come back for my first love and I won't rest until I take back what's mine, it's a good thing you don't like me either because I'm done putting up a fake smile for you when in reality I hate you so much and can't wait to get rid of you." Evie admitted.
"So Alicia, you should be scared because you don't know me and neither do you have any idea the things I can do just to get what I want, you have no idea my love."
"I would give you a chance to back off now that it's not too late, break up with Adams, take your little brat and go!" She ordered.
Alicia was surprised by this. "What? You can't be serious." She scoffed.
"Oh I am very serious about this, after all you aren't even married to him anymore and again, if Adams can divorce you once, what makes you think that he wouldn't be able to break up with you one more time?" She asked. "It's better you go to Ashton, and don't be surprised because Adams told me everything about him too, so I know you've got another admirer, I did look him up and yes, he's rich too, he's obviously going to treat you and your daughter well so what's stopping you from leaving?" She shrugged.
"You're one crazy bitch!" Alicia spat, causing Evie to burst into laughter.
"Can't believe it took you so long to notice." She replied. "Yes I am a bitch and a crazy one too, but you really don't want to see that side of me, trust me Alicia. Be a good girl and leave Adams alone, or else I'm going to—"
"You can do whatever you want." Alicia instantly cut her off.
"What?"
"Look here, I don't care if you're Adams first love or not, what you shared with him is all in the past and you need to stop being delusional because he's moved on while you're still living in the past." Alicia said. "Do you think your little speech is going to scare me?" She scoffed. "I dare you to try do whatever you want to, let's see if it's going to work and make me leave Adams. I'm the one Adams loves now, I'm the one he's crazy about and not you, you're just his past love and that's all you'll ever be Evie, nothing more than that. I'm never leaving Adams, we've been through so much together and I'm willing to risk it all just to be with him, I love Adams so it's going to take more than just a little speech to scare me and get me to leave him."
"I and Adams belong to each other and it's going to stay that way, also, your presence here isn't needed Evie. I'm glad you've finally revealed your true colors, I was wondering how long it'll take for you to stop putting on those fake smiles of yours." She sighed deeply. "I'm glad you've taken off your mask, at least now I know the real you and the kind of bitch I'm dealing with here." Alicia smiled.
"And about Ashton, you and him do have a lot in common so I'm going to give him to you instead, trust me honey, you're going to love him and since you've looked him up, you must know that he's good looking." She then trailed her finger tips up Evie's face and down to her jaw line. "A perfect match for you honey." She smirked and then she made to leave but paused and looked at Evie once more.
"One more thing." She said. "The next time you address my daughter as 'little brat' I promise you I'm going to slap you so hard to reset your brains, I don't care about the consequences. My daughter has a name, her name is Diane and you had better be careful because I can show you my own crazy side if you dare mess with my daughter." She warned darkly and then she left.
Evie scoffed in disbelief, she literally couldn't believe what just happened and how fast the tables turned, but this only made her even more angry and determined to get back at Alicia.
She balled her fists in rage, her whole body trembling. "You have no idea who you're messing with Alicia, now you wait and see how I'm going to deal with you, by the time I'm done with you, we'll see if you're still going to have that confidence intact!" She vowed and then she left the house in anger.
