Chapter 52 Stage Star
XAVIER
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the star of this great establishment, Kenzy."
My eyes were glued to the stage right after the announcement and loud music followed.
"Who the heck is Kenzy?" Brad said, making me look at him.
He is looking at Valentina.
"Our daughter, Brad," Valentina said.
"What does that mean? What happened to the name we gave her?" Brad asked.
Alex, who is seated after Valentina, chuckled.
"Relax and watch, Brad. Geez." Valentina almost whined, making a huff as I looked at the stage.
"Does that name sound weird to you, man?" Brad nudged me a bit.
I shrugged slightly. "Kids these days love weird things, bro."
He huffed as I focused on the stage.
A lot of dancers dressed in similar shiny silver attire filled the stage, dancing to the music.
The girls are dressed in mini gowns and their hair is tied up in a neat bun. The boys are dressed in pants only, exposing their shirtless abs.
The girls moved their bodies to the music and I am beginning to wonder where....
The boys gathered together and next, Kendra rose in their arms.
The crowd went wild, clapping as she spread her hands and smiled.
Whoa.
"That's our girl!" I heard Valentina squeal along with the crowd, on her feet, and clapping her hands too.
Alex is clapping too and Brad.....
Well, he is just Brad. He doesn't look interested.
My attention is on Kendra.
That little chaos is full of surprises.
The boys placed her down and she moved incredibly, dancing to the beat of the music.
She is dressed in a shinier silver dress made of tiny stones you could mistake for diamonds.
Mini like the other dancers but more beautiful to make her stand out as the star that she is.
She moved those long and exposed beautiful legs of hers to the beat as the dancers roamed around her.
She carried the crowd as she danced, smiling beautifully as she twirled that banging body.
That wicked waist.
Fuck.
The sight before me is making me recall all those hot and spicy times with had together.
If only I could get rid of everyone in this fucking theater and have a good way with her.
I am fucking sure she would love it herself.
Cause boy, she's making me horny by the way she is moving right now.
The projectors on both sides of the stage displayed her as she danced.
The crowd kept cheering as she displayed this extraordinary talent.
I have always been a lover of dance.
I am horrible at it but I love watching people dance.
I love watching women dance.
Especially women.
"You got a talented daughter, man," Leo said, taking my attention. He is behind us but patting Brad's shoulder.
"He sure does," I said, looking at Brad.
He rolled his eyes, making me chuckle as I returned my gaze to the beautiful goddess giving us an incredible show.
That mini gown is everything.
But it would be better if you could just take it off.
She took a boy's hand and he raised her hand as she twirled. She rested her back on his, moved her hand behind, held his neck, and wrapped her hand around her belly.
They both moved slowly in an erotic way.
Well.....now I am jealous.
Yeah right.
Jealous, no.
Wish it was me? Yes.
Absolutely.
She twirled again with the boy holding her hand up.
He has quite a good-looking body with the abs and all.
But that's all he is.
A fucking boy.
Kendra knows what she is into.
And that is a man.
She hugged him momentarily, turned around to face us, moved her hand behind his neck, and boy did she do a slow but spicy split down while staring at him and without letting go of his neck.
Fuck!
The crowd went wild again as they all stood on their feet, clapping happily.
I couldn't be left out.
I clapped as well.
The dance went on. The boys picked her up and she raised one of her legs high as the boys turned around.
Fuck, the little guy connected to me is reacting right now.
Kendra will be the death of me.
She deserves a lot of flowers.
"When will the dance end?" Brad asked, making me look at him as I took out my phone.
He is looking at Valentina.
"Really, Brad?" Valentina asked.
"What?" Brad asked.
Valentina scoffed, shaking her head.
I nudged Brad, making him look at me.
"Relax, man. Come on." I said.
"I am getting bored." He said.
I scoffed.
"Like you don't know Brad." Leo chipped in and I sensed him leaning closer to us.
"He is the nerd among us. He doesn't like things like this." Leo said.
"Shut up, Leo," Brad said.
Leo chuckled.
"Yeah you're right, Leo," I said, smiling at Brad. "He is the nerdy punk."
"Shut your face up, Xavier," Brad said, making Leo and me chuckle.
The dance went on.
I typed a quick text to Henry, my new driver.
"Drive to any flower store and get me a bouquet of red roses. Hurry."
I sent the text and put my phone back inside my inner jacket pocket.
Time went by and the dance ended.
The crowd stood on their feet, clapping happily.
I stood on my feet as well, clapping my hands as she and her group held hands and gave us a bow.
The crowd was really wild. All you could hear was the name Kenzy.
I smiled as I stared at my little chaos.
She did an extraordinary job at that stage.
A woman with flowers walked on the stage and towards Kendra. She handed the flowers to Kendra and they hugged slightly.
The woman might be the teacher or something.
Kendra waved at everyone and blew a kiss as they ran off the stage.
Wow!
What a show.
MINUTES LATER......
"Mom!" Kendra squealed as she ran towards Valentina still in her dancing dress.
"Oh, my superstar!" Valentina said as she and Kendra hugged happily.
We are still in the almost empty theater. There are a few people around and all. We are currently standing close to the stage just to see our superstar as her mother called her.
Still hugging her mother, Kendra looked my way, making me smile slightly.
Valentina unwrapped her, breaking my contact with Kendra.
"You did so well, sweetie," Valentina said, cupping Kendra's cheeks.
Kendra smiled. "Thanks, mom."
"That was a blast," Alex said, poking Kendra's arm.
"Hey!" Kendra protested, poking him back. They both chuckled.
"Sir," a familiar voice took my attention.
It was Henry with the flowers I asked for.
I took them from him.
"Thank you."
He nodded, attempting to leave.
"Hey," I said, stopping him in his tracks and moving closer to me.
I took out cash from my inner jacket and gave it to him.
"I will take the keys. Take a cab home." I said.
"Are you sure, sir?"
"Yes, go on." I urged.
He placed the keys in my hands and took the cash walking away.
I looked in Kendra's direction. She is talking to her dad and Leo.
I walked towards them and cleared my throat, taking everyone's attention.
I rested my eyes on Kendra.
She is staring at me with a smile. She got shiny makeup on, looking like a goddess.
"Roses for the star," I said, handing them to her.
She took them from me.
"Thank you, uncle." She said, reaching for me and wrapping me in a hug.
My entire body tenses up like always when we are this close.
"You smell good," she whispered swiftly to my ear before pulling away.
I fought the urge to melt.
Fuck, this little girl is killing me.
"Thanks so much, guys, for coming. This really means a lot," she said, looking at everyone.
"We wouldn't miss it for the world," Valentina said, caressing Kendra's cheek.
"Thanks, mom."
"Well, I still have more gifts for you, Kenzy," I said, making her look at me.
The same goes for others.
"Kendra, Xavier." Brad corrected.
Valentina huffed.
"Her name is Kendra." Brad persisted.
"Come on, Brad." Leo chipped "Too uptight."
"Kenzy is not her name, man," Brad said.
"It's her stage name. That's what her fans call her, isn't it?" Leo asked.
"Yes, Uncle Leo," Kendra said proudly.
"Well, my house, her birth name," Brad said, making me roll my eyes.
"Understood," Leo said.
"So, what gift, uncle?" Kendra asked, making me look at her.
"Whatever you want. Just name it." I said.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yes," I said.
She hummed, moving her eyes to her mom.
"Think carefully, sweetie. You know your uncle, Xavier is the only one big on gifts." Valentina said.
Leo huffed. "I am too, Valentina."
"Sure thing, Leo." Valentina mocked.
"Hey." Leo protested.
"Ignore mom, Uncle Leo. You are big on gifts too." Alex said.
"That's my boy," Leo said.
"So what do you want, Kendra?" I chipped in.
"Can I think of something and tell you later?" She asked.
I shrugged. "Sure."
She nodded, smiling.
"Kenzy!" someone called from backstage, taking our attention.
"I need to go guys. We have a meeting with the director." Kendra said.
"It's okay, honey. See at home." Valentina said.
"Okay," Kenzy said, attempting to head towards the backstage area.
"Don't be late," Brad said.
"Okay," Kendra sang, walking away.
God knows I want to kiss her right now.
And maybe other things too.
"So, where to next?" Leo asked.
"Home," Carmen spoke up. "Jessica has an early morning shift tomorrow."
Leo huffed.
And for the first time, I got to notice Jessica's presence.
Like was she here all this time?
I am just seeing her.
"It's okay, Carmen," Brad said. "We are heading home too."
"Yes, we are," Valentina said, walking past them and then me.
"We will be in the car, Leo. Let's go, Jessica." Carmen said, walking past us.
"Come on, David," Jessica said, taking David's hand.
She was about to walk past me but looked my way momentarily. She lowered her gaze as she walked past.
I think she just came in.
Cause I didn't see her at all.
Sometimes I forget she is a part of us or something.
The kid is so damn quiet.
"Heading out with mom," Alex said, walking away.
I am now left alone with my best friends.
"So, guys," Leo spoke up, placing in hands on my shoulder and Brad's.
"What do you say we all go for some drinks?" Leo asked, looking between us.
I shared a look with Brad who furrowed his brows.
"Huh?" Leo asked. "Come on, boys."
Brad huffed. "I thought Carmen just said that Jessica has to...."
"Ignore Carmen, man." Leo retorted. "You know she always exaggerates. Let's go to a place. Xavier will pick the location." he gestured at me.
Brad looked my way and I raised my brows.
"And you, Brad, will buy the drinks." Leo completed.
"Like hell I will." Brad blurted sarcastically.
"What's wrong with that?" Leo asked as I put my hands into my pockets.
"Well, firstly, I don't even feel like drinking tonight," Brad said.
"Me neither," I chipped in, looking at
"What the...." Leo trailed off.
"And secondly," Brad continued. "you need to take your family home. Jessica has to be at the hospital tomorrow"
Leo kissed his teeth in annoyance.
"And I have to take my family home too. So, bye guys." Brad said, walking away.
"Brad, seriously?" Leo asked.
Brad turned and gave him his two fingers before turning ahead and walking towards the entrance.
Leo heaved a sigh and turned to me.
"Can you believe this man?"
I shrugged. "He is right though."
"Fuck that," he dismissed.
"He is a family man. So are you."
"Forget that shit. Let's go to the club together," he said, making me raise my brows.
"Brad doesn't have to tag along."
I took my hand out of my pocket and raised my wrist to look at my watch.
"Oh, fuck, look at the time," I said, smirking.
He gave me a look.
"Sorry, brother, I have an important place to be at the moment," I said, patting his shoulder slightly before walking past him.
"Really?" he asked.
"Business calls, Leo," I said, heading out of the theater.
I took out my phone and moved to Kendra's DM.
I typed a quick text; "I got something for you, little chaos. Five minutes. I will be waiting for you in my car."
I sent the text as I walked out of the building. I saw my car parked right opposite the building.
Crossing the road, my phone beeped. I got to my car and stared at my phone.
Kendra just sent a text. It says, "Yes Daddy. Five minutes❤️"
I smirked at the nickname.
Damn, Kendra.
"Xavier," Brad's voice placed me over the edge as I looked at him.
His car is in front of me and he is seated in the back seat, staring at me.
"Hey man," I said, clearing my throat.
"Smiling over some bimbo for the night?" he teased, smirking.
Stop that, man.
I let out a chuckle and shrugged.
"Something like that."
"Alright then. Later man," he said, throwing me a salute.
I nodded, smiling. His window went up as his car drove away.
I stared at his car driving into the distance.
That's one away.
The second......
