Chapter 100 Jet Owner

Chapter 100 Jet Owner
JESSICA

I gulped as Uncle Xavier filled my head.

Why are we going in his jet this time?

"Let's go," Uncle Brad said, walking ahead and everyone followed but Alex walked towards us.

Actually, towards Catherine, making me stare at them while holding Michael's hand.

"Hey,"

"Hi," Catherine said, smiling at him.

"I am Alex by the way,"

"Catherine,"

"Can I walk with you?" Alex asked

"Uh...." Catherine paused and looked my way, making me purse my lips and give her a nod.

She moved her eyes back to Alex.

"Sure," she said.

"Cool,"

I smiled, holding Michael's hand as we followed others. Alex and Catherine followed us behind.

I can hear them talking.

Hmm, something might be up.

Alex seems interested. I didn't see that coming.

Thinking about it now, I haven't really met any of his girlfriends. Maybe he doesn't have one yet.

What if he is about to have one now?

I looked behind me and I saw them smiling at each other.

I smiled as I averted my eyes from them.

Not long later, we are walking up the stairs of the unfamiliar jet.

"Been a while since I went on a jet," Michael said as he followed me behind.

I turned my head to him.

"Really?"

He nodded. "Yeah. My life basically revolves around the hospital."

"Well, that is about to change."

He chuckled. "True,"

"Are you excited?" I asked, smiling.

"Of course I am."

"Me too," I said, facing ahead. "We are going to have a lot of fun. Right, Cath?"

"Yeah, girlfriend," Cath said, making me chuckle as I walked into the jet.

But my smile was short-lived the minute I locked eyes with Uncle Xavier.

He is seated at the end of the jet, leg crossed and dressed in a white shirt with its first three buttons left open, exposing his chest and black pants.

I averted my eyes from him as an elegant female flight attendant approached us with a smile.

"Welcome aboard, have a seat," she said, gesturing at the remaining empty seats on the left.

"Thank you," I said, walking in and sitting on a seat close to the window.

Michael sat next to me.

Alex and Cath sat right in front of us.

"Phew, this is awesome," Cath said happily, making a smile at her.

She is seated right in front of me and Alex is next to her and in front of Michael.

"We are really doing this," Cath said.

"I know right?"

She giggled.

"Do you miss Asheley?"

Her face twitched instantly.

I laughed out.

"Stop being a killjoy," she warned.

I raised my hands in surrender. "My bad, sorry."

She leaned close to me. "F Ashley,"

I nodded. "Got it,"

She leaned back as I chuckled.

"You two seem to be best friends," Alex said.

"We are," Cath and I said in unison, making us share a happy look.

"Hmm. I see. Heartless Jessica," Alex said, staring at me.

My jaw dropped. "What the....Alex,"

"You didn't tell me you had such a gorgeous friend," he said, moving his eyes to Cath. He stared at her longingly then threw me a frown.

"That's wicked."

I scoffed.

Michael chuckled.

"I didn't know you....."

"Excuses unaccepted." Alex chipped in.

I heaved a sigh. "Fine fine. I am sorry,"

"Ignore her," Alex said to Cath, making me scoff in disbelief again.

Cath stared at him with a smile. I can see her blushing.

"Even though we just met, I am happy to see you," he said, smiling at her.

Geez. I didn't know he was such a charmer.

Cath lowered her gaze, smiling shyly.

I smiled as she looked at him.

I felt a touch on my hand, claiming my attention.

Michael is holding my hand.

I looked at him.

He smiled at me.

I smiled as well but a moment took my attention.

Uncle Xavier is standing along the pathway, talking to a male flight attendant.

My heart picked up again as my eyes took in his physique especially his exposed chest.

I forced my eyes away, trying to contain my racing heart.

Why does it always do that whenever it is Uncle Xavier?

He is a jerk.

I moved my face to the window, staring at the airport building. Soon we'll be on the air on our way to Fiji.

I am so excited.

I can't wait to have so much fun.

"Alex," Kendra's voice took my attention.

She stood between the four of us, her hand on her hip and her jaw flexing gently to tell that she was chewing gum.

Her fashion sense is always top-notch. Black leather jacket, red jumpsuit with cleavage, and black leather boots.

"I need my earbuds back," she said, moving her hand to him.

"Seriously, Kendra, right now?" Alex asked.

"Yes. Now. Hurry." she said, moving her fingers at Alex.

Alex heaved a sigh as he moved his hand in his jacket's inner pocket. He took a white earbuds case and handed it to Kendra.

"Thank you," she said, massaging the case as she looked my way.

Actually, she looked at all of us.

"Hmm, nice seat settings, Alex. Far away from your family," she said, making me furrow my brows.

"It's the same jet, Kendra," Alex said tiredly, rubbing his temples.

"Oh is it, now?" Kendra asked.

Alex heaved a sigh as I shared a look with Cath.

"Sorry, I didn't know. My own brother just called me blind, y'all." Kendra said, smiling at the rest of us.

I heaved a tiny sigh as I looked away.

"Can we not do this right now, Kendra?" Alex asked. "You got your earbuds. So bye,"

"Michael, right?" Kendra asked, making me look at her. She is staring at Michael.

"Yes, that's right," Michael said politely.

"I guessed right. You remember me, don't you?"

"Sure. Kendra," Michael said, making me stare at him. "We met at the party."

Why is he.....

"Hmm he remembers perfectly," Kendra said, making me look at her.

She is smiling weirdly.

"Glad to have you with us. Let's catch up later," she said, winking at him before walking away.

I moved my eyes to Michael.

He lowered his gaze, acting....I don't know.

I moved my eyes ahead and I locked them with Cath.

She moved her face slightly.

I shook my head, moving my eyes to my window.

What does she mean by let's catch up later?

"I am sorry about that," I heard Alex say to Cath. "That's my sister. She can be a handful sometimes."

"It's okay,"

"Hey," Michael took my attention as Alex and Cath went on talking.

"Are you okay?" he asked, giving me that concerned look.

What does Kendra mean by catch up later?

"Babe?"

I raised my brows. "Hmm?"

"What's wrong?" He asked.

I shook my head. "Nothing."

"Really?"

I nodded.

"Oh before I forget, I got you this." He said, taking out a lollipop from his jacket's inner pocket, and handed it to me.

My heart fluttered at the sight of it as I took it from him.

"Something for the flight," he said, making me look at him.

"I figured you love lollipops," he said, smiling.

I smiled at him.

"I am right, ain't I?"

I nodded, still smiling.

"Enjoy," he said.

I chuckled. "Thank you,"

He leaned in and kissed my temples. I closed my eyes, feeling my heart flutter.

I rested my head on his shoulder, smiling a bit.

Something made me move my eyes ahead. I locked them with Uncle Xavier's who is standing with a man dressed in a pilot uniform.

The man is saying something to him but he is staring at me while nodding at the pilot.

My heart didn't disappoint as it raced instantly, forcing me to avert my eyes.

Why is he even looking my way anyway?

What is wrong with him?

"Mr Cole," Michael said, making my heart pound faster. I looked at Michael.

He just waved uncle, Xavier.

Next, I heard steps approaching, making me gulp as I looked in that direction.

Uncle Xavier is approaching.

Oh God.

I lowered my gaze, squeezing the lollipop and it made a sound.

"Michael, right?" Uncle Xavier's voice sent shivers down my spine.

"Yes, sir," Michael said.

"I didn't think you would join us. Your girlfriend didn't tell me," Uncle Xavier said, making me look at him.

He is standing where Kendra stood earlier, hands in his pockets and staring at me.

I averted my eyes.

"Maybe it skipped her mind," Michael said.

"Yeah, maybe." Uncle Xavier said and fought the urge to roll my eyes.

"Well, I am glad to have you with us." Uncle said.

"Thank you, sir."

"Alex,"

"Uncle Xavier," Alex called.

"You brought someone too?"

"Actually, she came with Jessica. I am just being welcoming and all," Alex said.

"Hmm. I see. You are?" Uncle asked.

"Catherine Jones, sir. Jessica's best friend." Cath said.

"Best friend huh?"

"Yes, sir."

"Xavier Cole. Jessica's and Alex's uncle. And I own this jet."

I scoffed internally, moving my eyes to the window.

Loud ego.

"Wow. It is nice to meet you, sir," Cath said.

"Likewise." Uncle said and I don't know but I felt his eyes on me.

I kept staring at the window.

"I believe we are all looking forward to a splendid vacation," Uncle said.

"We sure are, uncle," Alex said, chuckling.

Michael shook my hand, making me look at him.

He smiled at me.

I smiled slightly but my eyes betrayed me as they moved and locked with Uncle Xavier's.

I returned my eyes to Michael, rubbing his arm and resting my head on his shoulder.

Ignoring uncle's annoying gaze.

"Well un, I wish you guys a pleasant time flying with me." Uncle said.

"We hope so too," Michael said and I sensed Uncle walking away, making me look in his direction.

He is walking ahead.

Finally, he left.

It is bad enough that we are in his jet. I hope he doesn't bother us again till we land.

Catherine chuckled, taking my attention. Alex is covering his mouth while saying something to her.

She giggled this time.

I scoffed, raising my head as I stared at them with a smile.

Geez, Alex is stealing my friend.

And in a good way.

I feel like they will make a cute couple. I seriously didn't see that coming.

I am loving it.

"Babe?"

"Hmm?" I answered, looking at Michael.

"I can't help but wonder why you seem to dislike your uncle,"

My heart picked up.

"I don't mean to pry into your family affairs but I noticed you are the only one in your family who dislikes him."

That's because he is the jerk who has hurt me the most in this world.

"Do you mind telling me why?" he asked.

I shrugged. "Nothing. I just don't flow well with him."

He nodded.

"Nothing serious."

"Okay. Whatever you say," he said, smiling.

I smiled at him too, resting my head on his shoulder as Uncle Xavier filled my head.

I heaved a sigh, closing my eyes.

That night in Mexico replayed in my head.

I raised my head from Michael's shoulder and moved my attention to my lollipop as I began unwrapping it.

HOURS LATER......NIGHT HOURS....

AT CRYSTAL RESORT.......

"This place is insane, Jess." Cath squealed, making me chuckle as we walked along the wife's luxurious hallway.

It's been a while since we landed and got checked in without wasting time.

As usual, Uncle Brad had already made reservations for seven suites. One for him and Aunt Val, one for Dad, mom and David, one for Michael and me, one for Cath, one for Kendra and Mercedes, one for Alex, and lastly, one for Uncle Xavier.

That's a lot right?

Yes, I know. Uncle Brad spends lavishly.

And his money never stops.

Seven suites?

Mom was intrigued and suggested otherwise. But Aunt Val said it is just money.

No big deal.

In Cath's voice, "Okay, aunty"

Catherine, Michael, and I are currently heading to our rooms with the butlers following us behind with our luggage. Others must have gotten to their rooms remaining us.

Which is about to be revealed.

"I can't wait to see my room. Hell, I can't believe I have an entire suite to myself!" Cath squealed again.

"You mean an entire suite to both of us," I said to her, gesturing.

She huffed. "Nope. To myself, sweetie. You have yours with your boyfriend."

"True but I am still going to spend one of the nights with you. Even visit during the day." I said.

"Okay fine. But tonight, I am sleeping in a suite all by myself! Whoo!" Cath squealed, making Michael and me chuckle.

"Oh, this is me. Room 302," she said, reading the number on her door and then showing her black card that has the same number on it.

"Enjoy," Michael said.

She chuckled, opening her door.

"Bye love birds" she sang, walking into her room and the butler with her luggage followed her behind.

"See you in the morning," I sang, walking past her door with Michael as our butler followed us behind.

"What's our room number again?" Michael asked.

I looked at the card.

"Room 309," I said.

"Sweet,"

"Excited?" I asked, smiling.

"Very. Still feels odd though cause I haven't been away from work in a long time."

I nodded. "I understand but don't worry, I will help you enjoy this vacation. We will have a lot of fun at the beach tomorrow."

"Hmm, sounds nice."

"More than nice. Trust me."

"I do trust you, babe."

I smiled, looking towards a spot and I saw our room number.

"We are here."
