Chapter 1 Noble Man
"First, see no evil, speak no evil; second, do not cross me; and third..."
"Loyalty above all, never betray!"
Declan Lloyd was the president of the Lloyd Group. He was worth more than 2.4 trillion dollars and ranked third in the world.
This man was Julissa Shepherd's assassination mission!
He was dressed in a well-tailored dark black suit perfectly wrapped around his slender body. His facial features were exquisite, and his eyes were as steady and deep as gems. The corners of his mouth were slowly raised, enchanting and evil.
The man was charming. At first glance, people couldn't take their eyes off him.
Julissa knew very well what she should do to save the Shepherd Group, the man standing at the top of power.
"First, I'm a servant. Second, I'll do my job well. Third, I'll be loyal to my master and never betray you, Mr. Lloyd."
On the surface, Julissa was a new top-notch maid, but her real identity was Nicholas Shepherd's adopted daughter, spy Rose No.1. Nicholas was the chairman of the Shepherd Group.
"My dear daughter, I need you to do one thing for me. It's related to the life and death of the Shepherd Group."
[From the orphan of the orphanage to the adopted daughter of the chairman of the Shepherd Group, the chairman of the Shepherd Group has done me a great favor. Now, it's time to repay my father.]
Declan Lloyd was the president of the biggest competitor of the Shepherd Group. The task of Julissa was to get close to this man and gain his trust to steal his business secrets. If necessary, she had to kill him!
Declan sniffed lightly, and his innate deterrence and calmness were suppressed.
"Edwin will take you to get familiar with the environment here. If you have any questions, you can ask him."
"Yes, Mr. Lloyd. I'll go down first."
After that, Julissa nodded and turned to leave the study.
As she came out, Julissa breathed a sigh of relief.
At the very least, she had succeeded in her first step.
She had to complete this mission!
"Julissa Shepherd?"
Behind her, a middle-aged man called out to her. He had an honest face and a heavy temperament. It was obvious that he was the butler here.
It seemed that Declan trusted him very much.
"Hello, Edwin."
Edwin nodded. She could guess who he was even before he introduced himself. This girl did not look stupid.
Declan lived halfway up the mountain, in a big villa that covered an area of five hundred acres. Julissa had to put in much effort to remember all the places here.
"Mr. Lloyd does exercises every morning. The water in the swimming pool must be changed every day. And the racecourse must also be cleaned. In addition, because of his special identity, Mr. Lloyd takes private helicopters more often than cars. You have to keep the airport level dam clean." After a pause, Edwin turned to look at her and asked, "Do you have a helicopter license?"
"Yes." Julissa was stunned for a moment and then nodded. "As a senior maid, I have professional training."
Edwin was slightly surprised but nodded with satisfaction.
Cookery, psychology, assassination skills, and even some traffic certificates were all trained by her since she was a child. "For the sake of the Shepherd Group, you must be outstanding enough," her father often said lovingly and sternly.
"By the way, I forgot to tell you one more thing."
Julissa paused, looked at Edwin seriously, and said, "Go ahead, please."
"Remember, loyalty above all, never betray. Otherwise, you will pay a painful price!"
"Of course." Julissa nodded respectfully.
"Also, if Miss Moran needs you to do anything, I hope you can report it to Mr. Lloyd in advance."
"...Is it Mrs. Lloyd?"
"It's fine if you think so."
Julissa seemed to understand what Edwin meant but also seemed not to understand.
In the evening, in the villa.
It took Julissa a whole day to get a general understanding of Declan and some of his hobbies. Thinking of what Edwin had said during the day, Julissa shook her head and felt a little ridiculous.
Although she was an orphan, she knew very well that since one had chosen to get married, one had to love one's partner wholeheartedly for the rest of life.
Looking at the time, it was almost nine o'clock.
Julissa went to the kitchen to make a cup of herbal tea and then went straight to the study.
"Sorry to disturb you, Mr. Lloyd."
