Chapter one hundred and eleven: the drive.

Chapter one hundred and eleven: the drive.

Officer Joe plugged in the drive.

The three law enforcers looked at each other as they braced for the impact because they were unsure of the outcome.

The system was loading and it was a bit slow but the police officers waited patiently.

Inspector Eric, Officer Ruby, and Officer Joe concentrated on the slow loading of the system before the content of the drive display and did not know they had an intruder in their space.

“What are you guys doing ng by this hour of the night, isn’t your shit over?” the voice from behind them asked. They were all startled.

And surprisingly it was police commissioner Reynold.

Police Commissioner Reynold noticed the way they were scared and he asked “What happened? You all seem scared,”.

“Nothing, really, just working on a project together as a team,” Officer Ruby replied quickly.

“Oh really, sounds interesting what kind of project? Can I take a look?” police commissioner Reynold asked. He was eager to see what they were working on.

Police Officer Roy, Officer Ruby, and Inspector Eric were a bit afraid but the display of the drive’s content had not yet shown on the computer screen it was full in the loading stage may be due to the network but the law enforcers knew that the display might not be something that the commissioner would like.

Police Commissioner Reynold kept insisting that he would like to see the project they working on, police officer Joe immediately pulled out the drive from where it was plugged in.

The computer immediately stopped processing and it went back to the main home screen. Police Commissioner Reynold finally passed through the blockage of officers and when he got to the computer he saw only thehimescreen with a police department logo on the screen.

“Where... Where is it? I mean the project you guys say you are working on, where is it?” police commissioner Reynold asked. He was confused because he saw nothing on the computer displayed rather than the home screen.

“Umm… Sir,” Officer Joe said, he was about to start a statement. He looked at his fellow officers and they looked at him also.

Police Commissioner Reynold turned and looked at him, “Yes, I am listening,”

“The project is private, just give us time and we will show you the result, trust me, you will be happy with us. But let me just give you some hint, it is just a strategy to get our suspect behind bars, that is just all,” Officer Joe said. He smiled and looked at his fellow officers and Officer Ruby and Inspector Eric, they joined Officer Joe in concurring with what Officer Joe said.

“Yes…yes. That is it, it is very private,” Officer Ruby said.

Inspector Eric nodded.

Police Commissioner Reynold gave them a quizzical look, and he said “All alright but make me impress, don't waste my time by keeping hopes up, carry on. But it is late, and no one is paying an additional allowance to you guys because you are doing an additional night shift, so be quick and go home, okay?” he walked out of the office.

“Right Sir,” Officer Joe replied, as police Commissioner Reynold walked out of the office.

The police commissioner is out of the office and some distance away from the office walls. Officer Ruby let out a sigh of relief “Wheww! That was close,”.

“Indeed, a. Close one,” Inspector Eric said.

“Hey but it is not the end, you need a new plan,” Officer Joe said. He looks into their eyes.

“Okay, what is the new plan?” Inspector Eric asked.

“Now listen, we are going to create a diversion, in case he asks about the project, anytime, inspector Eric will work on that meanwhile, we will be investigating this case out of the rule book, but keep it on the low,” officer Joe said.

“Alright, I understand. I will be going home now, so we can work on this case properly in the morning,” Inspector Eric said.

“Alright, good night I will stick around a little bit longer,” Officer Joe said. He shook hands with Inspector Eric and he left the office.

It was Officer Joe and Officer Ruby in the office now. “Are you not going home?” Officer Joe asked Officer Ruby.

Officer Ruby smiled and he walked seductively toward Officer Joe she hugged him and kissed him and she said “Good night, Joe, see you in the morning,”. She Pat him on the cheek softly and she left the office.

Officer Joe was stunned because he finally knew that she wanted him as he wanted her, he admired her curvaceous body as she walked out of the office.

Officer Joe smiled, knowing that he was going to have a good night's sleep, like never before.

The morning.

Officer Joe arrives early to the office because he wants to be the first to watch the content in the drive, just in case he gets played by Mike again.

Police Officer Ruby, decided to take a promenade to work but on her way to work, she walked passed Mason's store and decided to visit Mason but not to patronize him.

Meanwhile, Mason was in his store, just doing his normal routine of arranging, clearing, and repairing watches that were damaged by the police raid.

Police officer Ruby opened the door and she walked slowly instead of the store. She noticed that the store was brand new like nothing happened to it.

Mason raised his head and he saw Officer Ruby and how she was admiring the store. “Good day office is there anything, I can help you with? Or you are here to raid me again?” Mason asked as he looked at her over the counter.

Officer Ruby smiled and said, “No, not really, just come to look around. Tell me, how can you get everything back so quickly? After you lose a lot because your store is more stock than before,”. He looked at Mason who was standing over the canter.

Mason is usually afraid when asked this kind of question, especially when he knows something about it but this time he was different, he was bold.

“Are questioning me, or are you trying to search this place, without a warrant, because that is agathe law and I think, the court will love to listen to this,” Mason said, he folded his hands and he smiled.

Officer Ruby knew that he had a point, he stepped back and as she was about to go, she heard some rumbling at the back of the store, the part that led to the underground basement that was sealed by the police.

“What is that?!” Officer Ruby asked. She pulled out her pistol and was combat-ready.

“I don't know, you are trespassing!” Mason said.

“No, I am saving you,” Officer Ruby replied. She ignored his warning. Officer Ruby moved to the back and she found out that it was just some boxes that fell on each other.

She was relieved. “Did you see anything?” Mason asked as she moved toward to canter.

“Not just some boxes, you can carry on with your business, I am leaving. Have a good day,” police officer Ruby said, as she walked out of the store.

“Thank you,” Mason said. He continued what he was doing as soon as Officer Ruby left the store to work.

A few minutes later, he heard “Hello buddy,”. He was shocked to see Mike standing in the same place the boxes that fell were.

“But how did you get in?” Mason asked.

“Skip that question, we have a mission,” Mike said.

“What is it?” Mason asked.

“We are paying a visit to Lucy's brother,” Mike said.
