Chapter 28 Sarah, Dry Yourself
Sarah
"It's hard to guess what Big Brother is thinking, but Miss Sarah, if you agree with him, he's quite straightforward," Tony advised. "Just because you say he's handsome, you can say it to his face."
“So, Miss Sara, you're not blind after all; you see that big brother's charm is boundless! Perhaps the hardest thing to deal with isn't big brother, but you, Miss Sarah!” Tony rolled his eyes.
Tony had always wondered why someone with Big Brother's qualities found it so difficult to get close to her.
Realizing he couldn't get along, I gave up the urge to complain and lazily stared out the car window.
Tony couldn't understand.
I'd said Shawn was handsome a hundred and eighty times, but he hadn't even batted an eye at me.
Later, I realized that Shawn was the type of person who, despite his stunning good looks, preferred to rely on his abilities rather than his looks.
By calling him handsome, I could even make him feel that his talents didn't outshine his looks, as if I were belittling him.
I stopped a taxi on the side of the road after dismissal. The thought of Shawn’s face made me want to bite it to death.
The taxi didn't arrive, but a black Land Rover pulled up in front of me, the window rolled down, and at the last moment, I was about to bite his face, but at that moment, he appeared in front of me.
"Get in the car," Shawn raised his eyebrows and said briefly.
Get in a fucking asshole's car? I smirked. Was I stupid?
Just as I was about to speak, the door opened and Tony waved at me: "Miss Sarah, quickly get in the car. Big Brother will take us back."
If Tony were in the car too, what could he do to me? Taxis in this area were also hard to hail. Why be so hypocritical?
In the car, she and Chen Tony sat in the back seat.
The entire journey was silent in the car. I was reluctant to speak, and Tony, fearful of Shawn's aura, didn't dare speak of his own accord.
Shawn was also silent. He seemed to be giving orders to the company employees, wearing a headset. He was quiet and bold, without the slightest hesitation.
The car stopped momentarily at the entrance to the mansion. I opened the door and extended my front leg. A low voice rang out, "When you get out, don't forget to put on a smile..."
My cheeks flushed, and through clenched teeth, I muttered, "Thank you, Shawn, for reminding me. Bye-bye!"
As I exited the car, I lost my temper and kicked the tire. But the tires were unexpectedly strong.
My actions were visible. Shawn pursed his lips and looked down at my legs again. At that moment, I'd unleashed my merciless force, and now I was still in pain.
He looked at me again deeply, then started the car, turned around, and drove away.
As soon as I took a shower and ate at that time, Sophia called me and said Visit her soon we watched a movie together. I joined Sophia in her apartment.
By the time I left Sophia’s apartment, the sky had already darkened. A rolling thunder roared in my ears, and soon a torrential rain began. I stood in the rain, clutching my arms and shivering.
After exiting the apartment, I found myself quite a distance from the nearest bus stop. Two passing taxis already had passengers, but I couldn't hail a single one. Resigned, I walked in the rain for half an hour, completely drenched.
Just as I was standing under the awning of a street-side shop, my phone rang. I glanced at the caller; it was Shawn.
"Hello, Shawn. I might be a little late today." He must have known what time I left the Mansion. I guessed he'd probably returned to the mansion, and not seeing me, he decided to call and ask.
His hoarse, low voice rang out through the whistling rain: "I'll be at your place soon."
My voice trembled with cold: "I'm not in the same place right now. I just got back from Sophia’s apartment... Could you please wait a little? I'll try to catch a taxi soon."
Shawn, detecting something unusual in my voice, didn't press any further: "Stay where you are." The conversation ended.
I frowned. Even if he had driven here from their office, it would have taken at least twenty minutes. Should I just wait?
About ten minutes later, a car broke through the curtain of rain, racing toward me and stopping next to me.
I was stunned. How could he have arrived so quickly? Without wasting any time, I immediately opened the back door and got in.
As soon as the door closed, a thick towel was thrown over it.
I decided that Shawn definitely wouldn't tolerate his clean car being splattered with the rainwater I'd brought. I quickly began wiping the area around the seat.
A cold voice rang out next to me, each word clear: "Sara! Dry yourself!"
