Chapter 16 Dinner With Arrogant Billionaire
Sarah
This time, it was truly my fault. I didn't respond, blushed, and whispered, "Sorry!"
Shawn's brows furrowed slightly in displeasure. "Why are you apologizing?"
I took a deep breath, changed the subject, and reminded him, "Shawn, I'm sorry."
He sat motionless. "Sarah, now that you've spoken, could you please speak more clearly?"
Rubbing my face, I felt all my anger boil over. I clenched my teeth and gritted them. "Shawn Romano, by mistake, wants to humiliate me. I'm so sorry!"
"Just sorry..." He raised his eyebrows. Shawn opened the door and got out of the car. I followed him, my heart filled with anger and shame.
When we reached the villa. Tony waited a long time in the living room. Upon seeing me, he immediately smiled.
Asshole billionaire stared at Tony. Tony immediately straightened up and sat up.
A faint, cold groan escaped Shawn’s lips. Shawn threw his black coat on the sofa and went upstairs.
As soon as Tony’s elder brother disappeared, he sighed with relief, his words tinged with concern: "Miss Sarah, why were you taken to the police station?"
"Some things are hard to say right away. They can't be summed up in a few words," I said.
Tony shrugged and stopped asking, his handsome face filled with clarity. "I understand that while everyone is impulsive, a teacher is also human, and of course, he is no exception......"
But before my voice faded, a sound came from my stomach. I frowned. I hadn't eaten anything all day. I felt a little hungry and asked Tony what he wanted to eat.
He replied that he wanted dumplings. He hadn't eaten dumplings on the winter solstice. Today, he was especially hungry!
After taking a bath, Shawn changed into his casual clothes. Shawn was still dripping with water before he left the room. He heard a crunching sound, as if something was being chopped.
Entering the living room, he saw me slicing meat with a knife in my hand, while Tony circled around me.
Hearing footsteps, Tony turned around, his handsome face breaking into a smile: "Brother, teacher's making dumplings."
I didn't look back. I continued slicing the meat. My brows were slightly furrowed. Shawn was at a loss for words. His eyes merely squinted deeply. Then Shawn sat down on the sofa, turned on the TV, and watched the financial news.
The photographer looked away. I involuntarily sighed with relief and enthusiastically wrapped the dumplings.
When the water boiled, I dropped in the thick, white dumplings, and simmered them briefly. I placed the dumplings on a green plate, paused for a moment, and then picked up three plates.
Seeing this, Tony pursed his lips and quietly said, "My big brother doesn't eat dumplings with leeks. He thinks leeks are delicious."
Then I chopped parsley, mixed it with the meat, wrapped it in a plate, put it in water, and boiled it.
When all the dumplings were filled, Tony served them at the dining table.
Shawn squinted slightly, looking at him, and Tony shrugged: "Teacher, originally wrapped the meat in leeks. Listen, you didn't eat the leeks, but deliberately wrapped parsley and meat, and yet they're still three delicacies. Brother, this is truly delicious! I'm envied and hated!"
Frowning, Shawn didn't utter a word the entire time, Tony’s gaze always filled with curiosity.
I placed Shawn’s plate and looked at him, bouncing but magnanimous: "I'm very grateful to you, today!"
"You should be thanks me!" Shawn’s voice was low and hoarse, his lips slightly curved. He picked up the fork, picked up the dumplings, and tasted them exquisitely and tenderly.
"Big Brother, is this delicious?" Tony asked.
Hearing this, I also felt an inexplicable curiosity. I was slightly nervous. Even though I was pretending to eat the dumplings, I couldn't help but glance around.
Shawn's gaze fell on my face.
Shawn’s eyes sparkled. After taking a sip... He raised his head, stretched his lips, and squeezed out a few words: "Not bad..." but his gaze was fixed on me as if I were prey. I bowed my head and ducked.
Averting his gaze, Shawn gracefully but leisurely ate the dumplings. There was even only half soup left.
When Shawn stood up and he was about to leave, but he seemed lost in thought again and said: "Since you have nowhere to go tonight, you can stay here, there's just a bunch of stuff in the kitchen. Make sure you clean up..."
My heart sank, and I suddenly looked up.
The villa's ground floor was still brightly lit. The house was eerily quiet, no one was there, and even the front door was tightly closed.
But I needed the money so much, I didn't want to lose even the slightest hope. Who would have thought? He actually agreed, but after kissing me, he told me to get out.
I clenched my teeth so hard it hurt, and when I reached the front door to force it open and run out, I discovered... I couldn't open it.
The front door wasn't locked, but controlled by high-tech electronic equipment.
This meant that unless someone capable of opening the door helped me, I would never be able to leave. The only person capable of opening the door was fucking Shawn, whom I definitely wouldn't approach.
I could only find one of the mansion's maids, who appeared as soon as I entered. But since she had immediately retreated outside the villa, would she still be here?
I couldn't believe that such a huge house could only contain Shawn and Tony.
I didn't know that, due to Shawn's dislike of being disturbed, the mansion was almost always deserted when he was in it.
Behind the mansion was a separate building, intended for the servants' rest and residence, completely separate from the mansion.
The servants usually cleaned the entire mansion before Shawn went to bed and only returned the next morning to prepare breakfast.
After quietly searching every room except Shawn's study and bedroom, I was already losing my temper.
When night fell and I felt sleepy, I simply lay down on the sofa downstairs. I couldn't believe Shawn wouldn't come out the next day.
"Why is she sleeping on the sofa?" Maid looked thoughtfully at the woman sleeping soundly on the sofa, covered with a thin blanket.
The girl seemed somehow familiar.
"If there are so many guest rooms upstairs, why is she sleeping on the sofa…" Maid was surprised.
The servants whispered quietly, unable to understand what they were talking about.
She had decided to sleep on the sofa, but was covered with a blanket. Maid recognized it, it belonged to the sir's bedroom.
Given his unshared nature, even Kate couldn't touch his things. But now his blanket was on Sarah, which was odd.
This lady must have had some strange habit of sleeping on the sofa...
By the time Shawn left the bedroom and started downstairs, he stopped halfway.
