Chapter One Hundred and Sixty Six
The time finally arrived and the program started as usual. Fiona gave an opening speech and thanked everyone who took their time to participate thus far.
After that, she declared the final competition officially opened and then went back to her seat which for the first time in two weeks was sat on.
Ahn smirked at her from his seat as if to say, told you the clothing was a better choice and she gave him a small smile in return.
Goldie has been made to be the one at the center because of her leg. The girl has made tremendous progress since the last time.
Fiona had also taken her time out to personally train her before handing her over to Daisy. With her fingers crossed Fiona watched her kids on the stage with water in her eyes.
She had told them to dance using a story and had Matt draw up a scheme for the story and walk with Daisy.
Thompson had those who were painting to create an image of the story behind the dance and each move was depicted in the story that was written.
Her creative ideas won the arts of the judges at large making them stay glued to the stage even after the kids left.
That was beautiful, Ahn sent a text to Fiona. Making her grin.
Because of their outstanding performances, the judges lacked interest in seeing the performance of the school students despite their well-coordinated work.
They felt it looked the same unlike they had been witnessing for years. A normal standard classical ballet dance is nothing special.
After the dance, Miss Harris stood up to address them before the final competition of the day began.
“For years, she began as she stood from her seat. I have gone from competition to competition and it has been the same but this is a history, an iconic one that will live long in the memories and the heart of us all.
Ms Williams, she called her and Fiona walked to the stage. When I saw the news about a small company doing charity work in the “Oakland Community” project, I was taken aback because people like me never gave hope to things like that but you did and you made it amazing.
For two weeks my colleagues and I have watched these children as they come up on stage. Even the old folks have done great entertaining and did their parts incredibly, she gave a smile to them and got one in return.
All I am saying is you had a dream even when you were just a simple ER nurse. But you strived and then you made it happen and the amazing part of your diligence brought you billionaire partners and it is about to bring you more.
Ms Fiona Williams from all of us the judges we wish to join you in your project “Oakland Community” We all hope we can be accepted as sponsors at the end of all of this, she said”.
After hearing her words, Fiona just stood there stunned, she had no idea what to do. I… She wanted to speak but no words came out of her mouth, just tears.
If it makes sense, may I know the designer behind these stage settings? One of the Judges put in.
It’s my sister, Cassie Williams, Fiona shuddered a breath. May I have her contact, please? He said.
I have some projects for her.
From her seat, Cassie shrieked in delight. Their dreams were finally coming into place. A double blessing she thought.
Composing herself Fiona bowed on the stage, I will be honored to have you all at our place and to you sir, I bet she is unable to keep still right now, Fiona pointed to Cassie and urged her to come down on the stage with her.
I will be honoured too, Cassie said after she came on the stage.
The crowd hoots and cheers at the moments the sisters are having. Ahn had a wide grin on his face and Max and Thompson could never have felt proud.
Turner wished he could help celebrate her moment, he itched to pull her to him and hug her to him like he used to.
But those kind looks and unbridled smile she had on for him were gone and had been replaced with a professional one which irks him to no end.
He wanted to tell her the truth. He never planned on targeting her and he never broke her trust, he just didn’t tell her who he was.
Maxwell who stood near him saw the guilt on his face and then spoke, she would come around he whispered.
When? He asked. When she knows why.
Do you think so? Turner asked. He never once thought he could seek advice from a man who had beaten up his brother before he was murdered.
Yes, I am. She is hurt but she is not irrational to give her time.
Easy for you to say Turner said to him in disdain.
So easy, Maxwell retorted, welcome to the club then Maxwell pointed out. She wears my ring but I am Mr Harold to her right now.
But then I have been Mr Harold for months now. Just someone she is engaged with to keep her company intact.
I wonder now that she has more partners, he gestures to the stage and has her own company, she would let me go.
Turner lowered his head, he had really ruined things for his revenge.
Turner turned to Max with a cold face that didn’t give out anything. We really suck, don’t we? He confirmed.
That I think we can agree on for the first time, Maxwell nodded.
Alright then, what do you suggest Mr Harold? Turner asked. A little patience will do us both good.
