Chapter 331
Chapter 331
"Oh, I am flushed," Ice admitted sternly. "But it's irritation. I'm nowhere turned on–"
"You're sure?" Kenji questioned slowly, eyes falling to Ice's bottom lip that was currently held between Ice's teeth.
Soon, it'll be his teeth doing the biting.
"I don't like you. I don't like businessmen. We can't happen, ever," he stated, pushing his hand into his pocket and looking away.
Kenji's face fell for a second before he smiled again. "You said you were leaving... to where?" he questioned.
Ice dropped the coffee on the counter. "I don't like black coffee. Next time, make it sweeter." He frowned in distaste, smacking his lips together.
Kenji smiled. "That was for me." He replied.
"Obviously, you have bad taste in everything," Ice murmured.
"You're not bad taste... quite the opposite," Kenji slowly licked his lips, smirking.
"Whatever, Mr. Takumi," he rolled his eyes, hoping his cheeks weren't too red.
Darn it, Kenji knew how to flirt hard... what else could he do harder?
'Stop it, Ice,' he chastised himself, clearing his throat.
Kenji chuckled. "I can take you where you're going. It's safer and I won't have to be responsible–"
"Don't bother," Ice cut him off. "I'm going to meet some real friends... you'll bore them out. Don't worry, I'll be back before tomorrow comes." He chuckled and turned away, heading to the kitchen door.
Kenji sighed and followed him to the living room, a slight frown on his brows as he watched Ice reach for the door.
"Text me if anything happens–"
"Nothing's gonna..." Ice trailed off as he came face to face with a very beautiful woman at the door.
"Um... hi?" Sakura smiled at Ice's shocked face.
Ice blinked and stepped out of her way. "Hello, miss. Good morning."
He didn't know who she was, but he did not once think she was a lover. His husband was bent like a curve.
"Sakura," Kenji called softly, walking over to hug his sister. "Where's–"
"Cloud and Claudia?" She pointed to the door as her wife carried their nine-month-old son into the house.
"KK..." Cloud clapped his cute hands as he saw his uncle, laughing loudly.
"Aww, look how grown he is," Kenji gently took the boy in his arms, sniffing his cheeks before kissing them.
Ice was standing by the side, surprised that the businessman could act so childish and free.
Who were these women anyway?
"Who's the boy?" Claudia asked, gesturing toward Ice by the door.
Ice straightened slightly. "I'm Ice." He introduced.
"Yeah, he's Ice Arisaka, my–"
"His business partner," Ice added.
The less people who knew about their sham marriage, the better.
Kenji sighed. "We can tell them, Ice... this is my younger sister, Sakura, her wife, Claudia, and their son, Cloud." He silently tried to ask Ice to behave with his eyes.
He wanted to later tell his sister the truth so she covered up for him in front of their mother.
"If they're that close, then it would be better to tell them that it is not a real marriage–"
"You forgot Cloud's milk..." A very pretty, young blonde stepped through the door, holding a grey backpack in his hand as he stared right at Kenji.
Ice instantly locked his gaze on him, his instinct immediately crossing the dude out.
Pretty, slim, blonde, smooth hair, white shirt and white suit pants. He looked like a prince who was on vacation, but Ice could sense something very, very off from him.
He did not like this person.
He was exactly the type of guy who Kenji might actually like... wait, that thought stung.
He clenched his fists, realising he might be right. The guy looked classy, boring, and ready for business.
Kenji's type.
"Oh, Kenji, this is him, Claudia's cousin, the one I spoke to you about on the phone." Sakura introduced, waving the young man over.
Kenji stared at his guest calmly, hoping his face did not show the inconvenience.
"Hello, Mr. Takumi. I'm War," he introduced, extending his slim hand for a handshake.
Kenji shook his hand, his large hand enveloping his completely. "Welcome to my home, War." He smiled politely.
"Thank you for having me," War smiled, touching Cloud's cheeks. "Hey, cutie," he cooed.
"I'm really grateful for agreeing to house War until we figure out what to do with the property. The case is dragging but our lawyers are assuring we'll win." Claudia explained, taking Cloud from Kenji.
"KK," Cloud giggled, reaching for Kenji.
"I'm here, little fella," Kenji patted the boy's head as he turned to Sakura with narrowed eyes.
"Not a problem, Claudia. After all, we're family." He said slowly.
"Perfect," Sakura flashed him a beautiful smile and went over to Claudia, wrapping an arm around her waist. "We'll be leaving now. See you soon, brother." She waved, leading her family toward the door.
"Bye..." Kenji murmured.
"Oh, and nice to meet you, Ice. I hope to see you more often, or were you stepping out? Need a lift?" Sakura asked.
"No... not stepping out," Ice answered calmly, eyes locked on War's back.
"Bye then," Sakura winked at him as she walked out of the door.
The door clicked shut, locking all three men inside the tense atmosphere.
"Um, can I call you Kenji?" War asked softly, brown eyes looking intently at Kenji.
"Sure," Kenji nodded, finding Ice's gaze beside the door.
For a moment, he thought he saw something like jealousy flash across Ice's eyes, but it was quickly gone before he knew it.
"Come on, I'll show you to a room," Kenji said, turning toward the stairs.
Ice stood by the door, watching War follow Kenji like some tamed cat... exactly what Kenji wanted.
Just before War climbed the stairs, he paused and turned to Ice. "I hope we become best of friends, Ice." He smiled and finally walked upstairs.
Ice was glued to his position, fists balled tightly, jaws clenched and eyes narrowed.
The smile was genuine, words innocent, yet he could not help thinking... 'This is war, War...'
