Chapter 226 family

         “ Is that your father?” the older woman said as she seat down on the sofa while staring at the picture of Sonia and her father.

“Yes” Sonia said as she gave the drink to the woman before seating down because Sonia was curious of what the woman wanted to say and how she knew where she was staying. 

“What do you want to discuss about” Sonia said as she stared at the blond woman in front her. The woman stared at Sonia for few seconds before putting had envelope on the table as Sonia pick up the envelope as she removed the paper from inside the envelope. 

“A DNA test” Sonia said as she quickly go through it and what she was reading shocked her that she could not process it.

“Whats this, and how did you get my DNA?” Sonia said as she was confused, she didn't know what was going on but what she was seeing in the test paper was that her DNA matches someone that was called Mrs Sandra. Sonia wondered who this Sandra was and how did she get her DNA to do the test she was holding right now.

“The person called Mrs Sandra is me Sonia and am your grandmother and also the mother of your father in that photo” Mrs Sandra said as she was holding her tears from not flowing out of her eyes but her emotions betrayed her as she could not control the overwhelming feeling. It has been long she saw her son and the last time they both talk was  three years ago. Mrs Sandra blamed herself as she could not believe that her son was gone and she was busy that she could not check on her son due to the restrictions of his father who had disowned him. 

“You're my grandmother, the one my father always talk about. Why did you take so long to come see me” Sonia said as she was filled with emotions that she now had a family.  Sonia knew she had other family from her father said but didn't know them because her father had never introduced her to his side of the family including her mother. 

“ Am sorry, I didn't know Jason died and I thought he was happily married with violet. As anytime I called him, he always ensure me that his family including his wife was doing okay and because of the restrictions put on me by your grandfather. I wasn't able to visit him” Mrs Sandra said as her tears didn't stopped because she was in pain and she could not believe her son was hone now and what worst was that it has been two years.

“  Restrictions” Sonia said as she wondered what her grandmother was referring to and why will her grandfather put restrictions on her.

“Your father disobey your grandfather by marrying violet instead of his fiancee leading to him disowned by his own father. But never in my dream did I expect that violet would leave Jason and marry another man after you turned one year old. Your father didn't introduce violet to his family because your grandfather didn't allowed it so violet married your father without knowing his family” Mrs Sandra said as she could recall when Jason had fought for his love for violet. Just to be betrayed by the love of his life.  

“Then how did you know that I was your granddaughter?” Sonia said as she knew that she did not resemble her father or her mother. So Sonia wondered how Mrs Sandra was able to figure out with one glance. Sonia knew that her mother was only after her father money and when the money stop due to her father being disowned. Her mother left without caring for her child and husband. 

“Well I knew that first glance because I was seeing me in you, you look exactly like me when I was young and it was as if I was reborn into this world again” Mrs Sandra said as the first time she saw Sonia in the rest room. Nobody could explain her surprised state as it felt like she was seeing her younger self.

“ So I took your hair on the restroom at of curiosity and that's how wee got here” Mrs Sandra said as she smiled warmly. They both talk as each of them explained there life as Sonia talk about her childhood. While Mrs Sandra talk about hers too.

“So my grandfather is dead” Sonia said as she wanted to see him before but it looks like that will be impossible. 

“ Yes and the other family will be happy to see you” Mrs Sandra said as she knew that Sonia may had thought of her being alone.

“Before we go see them, I want to tell you that am pregnant and I don't want to keep it from you since we are family, and I want to raise my child far away from the eyes of the father.  Can you do that for me” Sonia said as she rub her stomach and smiled as she did not know the reaction of are grandmother but she didn't care because these child was formed from the love she had for Antonio. 

“Can I ask the father name” Mrs Sandra said as she was happy and surprised at the same time. The happiness was from her finally having a great grand child and also that Sonia was young but it was not a problem.

“ I will tell you when am ready” Sonia said as she didn't want to mention Antonio name yet as she knew he won't be path of her and the child live.

One month passed as Sonia stood in front of her university with her friends by her side. They walked in as they could see other students with anxious face as they waited for the examination result. 

“  I can see tension in there eyes” lia said as she stared at the students.

“After the result is out, I will be a free woman with no more reading fir the future” Layla said as she was thinking of going on a vacation just to cool down.

“Me am going to work under my father after I take a short break to rest” Natasha said as all her plans has been laid out.

“What about you sonia?” Natasha said as she saw one of the professors coming out to display the result on the wall.

“Me am going to live my life to the fullest and enjoy what I was deprived of” Sonia said as she touched her stomach and she touched that it hasn't even reached three months but her child was growing fast because she was now showing and if not of wearing a big Hoodia. Then her friends would have noticed that she was pregnant and Layla will surely flipped out if she saw her. Everyone gathered as them saw the professor leaving after placing the result on the wall, Sonia and her friends checked the result and was surprised. 

“ I passed with the first spot” Sonia said as she smiled and she was the number one student showed in the result.
