Josie POV
"What are you doing ?" I asked Matthias. Weeks have flown by and we're getting closer to the due date. Matthias and Maya have been taking turns to spend more quality time with me as the big day comes.
I can't wait to see my flesh and blood. My baby boy, Elijah.
Matthias turned and looked at me with a grin on his face. "Getting more brownies!'' He yelled back as soon as he went to the kitchen.
We were both cuddling, watching a movie on Netflix while eating some snacks and Matthias couldn't bear but to eat more of the brownies I made.
He back to me and placed the brownies down on the table. He grabbed a piece and feeds one to me.
"I figured you'd like something sweet even if we are trapped in the middle of a snowstorm,'' he said, jokingly.
I hesitated, but I was too hungry to pass up a brownie.
"That was amazing," I said.
"No, I think you were just hungry," Matthias said and I laughed.
Suddenly, his face went serious. His eyes locked on mine, and he came close to me. Soon, he was so near that I could feel his breath on my skin. Matt brought his hand to my face and it brushed my cheek.
My heart pounded in my chest, and I felt like I couldn't move. I didn't want to.
The next thing I felt was Matthias's thumb at the corner of my mouth. He pressed down and wiped something away. Then, looking at the smudge, he licked it.
"You had some chocolate there," he said."
''I did?" I questioned in a silly tone.
''Yeah, apparently,'' he replied with a grin.
I blushed at my eagerness, the doorbell rings and Matthias gets up to get the door.
''What are you doing here?" He said, his voice deepens and echoed through back to the living room.
''Do you have a minute a two?" Someone replied, sounded a bit familiar.
''Uh...''
''Is Josie here?''
I got up from my couch went over to the front door were Matthias was standing. There, it was Zach with his hands in his pockets.
''Josie, hi,'' Zach greets me and I said hi back.
''Uh, I know your baby is going to be here any moment, and I thought I wanted to drop some things off before I leave soon.''
''To where?'' Matthias asked.
''Back to New York, thinking being about moving there.''
''Wait... since when,'' Matthias's voice was shaken. It caught both of us off guard that Zach was planning on moving to New York. ''Wh..why?''
''Because, I....'' His eyes are fixed as if he's looking at something a yard behind my head. He blinks then refocuses.
Matthias turned to me lost in words as I looked at both of them with confusion. Matthias startled like a deer in the woods, almost toppling as he took a large step backward.
''Babe,'' He said to me with that worried tone which eventually got me worried.
''What?''
''I think your water just broke.''
