Chapter 407 Patricia's Secret

Chapter 407 Patricia's Secret

The bathroom stall door clicked shut as Jonathan pulled Kathie against him, their bodies finding each other with desperate familiarity after weeks apart. Their kiss deepened, hands exploring with the urgency of stolen time.

"God, I've missed you," Jonathan whispered against her neck, his breath warm on her skin. Twenty minutes had passed in what felt like seconds.

As they prepared to leave, footsteps echoed against the tile outside. They froze, exchanging a glance. Jonathan pressed his finger to his lips.

"Harold, you bastard! This is a public bathroom!" A woman's voice—unmistakably Patricia's—hissed in angry protest.

Jonathan and Kathie recognized the voices immediately. Through the gap beneath the stall door, they could see two pairs of shoes: Patricia's elegant heels and Harold's Italian loafers.

"If you don't want to be discovered," Harold's voice dripped with menace, "then keep your voice down. Imagine the scandal—Jonathan's fiancée caught with another man in a bathroom."

They heard Harold scanning the bathroom. "Lucky for us, it's the middle of a workday. No one's here."

What Harold didn't know was that the "Out of Order" sign on their stall door had been Jonathan's improvisation.

Kathie pressed her ear against the door, her expression a mix of disgust and fascination.

"Is Harold actually trying to assault Patricia?" she whispered. "Even he can't be that desperate. Anyone could walk in."

Jonathan shrugged helplessly. How could he possibly know what went on in that idiot's mind?

A scuffle outside, then Patricia's voice again, lower but intense: "Harold! You said you had the video from our first time together. Where is it?"

Harold's laugh made Jonathan's skin crawl. "We've been together more than once, sweetheart. I miss how you feel. You're about to marry Jonathan—that prick I despise. Let's have one last time, right here."

"Are you insane? I'm not doing that here!" Patricia's voice rose in panic as she backed away.

"Fine." Harold's tone shifted to something colder. "Here's the USB with our video. And here's an 'Out of Order' sign—just like the one on that stall. Your choice is simple: one more time with me, or everyone at Berkeley sees what a wildcat you are in bed. Quite the contrast to your public persona, isn't it?"

Kathie rolled her eyes at Jonathan. "Harold brought an 'Out of Order' sign too? Is this some Berkeley family trait I should know about?"

Jonathan felt heat rise to his face. "Don't compare me to him. At least I've never—"

"Never what?" Kathie's hand slid down to squeeze his backside, her smile turning wicked. "Never wanted me in a place like this?"

Her breath tickled his ear, sending electricity down his spine. "You're playing with fire," he whispered back, desire building rapidly. "It's been too long."

Outside, Patricia's resistance crumbled. "I swear to God, Harold, if you're lying—if you don't give me that video after this, or if you ever threaten me again—I will kill you."

Harold ignored her threat, practically skipping out to place the sign on the bathroom door.

Soon, the adjacent stall filled with the sounds of their encounter—

Patricia's reluctant moans and Harold's heavy breathing. So absorbed were they in their transaction that neither noticed the phone extending from the neighboring stall, its camera capturing everything.

Jonathan filmed silently, a cold smile playing on his lips. Patricia thought Harold's blackmail would end with the exchange, unaware they had witnesses—and now, new evidence.

Ten minutes later, Harold collapsed against Patricia's back with a final shudder.

"God, that was good," he panted, slapping her rear with a sharp crack. "You've slept with Jonathan by now, right? How does he compare? Who satisfies you more?"

Patricia glared at him while adjusting her clothing, disgust evident in every movement. "He's far better than you. Now give me the video."

Harold produced the USB but held it just out of reach. "Having second thoughts?"

Patricia's fists clenched tight enough to whiten her knuckles. One more betrayal, she thought, and Harold would disappear—permanently.

"Just curious," Harold continued, studying her face. "You've been close to Jonathan for a while now. Learned any interesting secrets?"

Patricia stared at him, calculating.

After a long moment, she spoke, "Actually, yes. I ran DNA tests on Jonathan and Kathie's three children." She paused for effect. "All three are definitely his."
